What kind of crazy editing is this Oscars??? No viewing of the opening standing ovation and no closing speech ovation to this greatest of vintage Hollywood screen beauties. Not the first time these Oscar clips deliberately cut out the ovation for some stupid reason. Part of the viewing is to see her peers lavish praise upon her and what is seen as much deserved praise for 60 years in the film business. Continue to RIP beautiful Maureen and for all the classic films you left behind for us all.

TCMs Robert Osborne interviewed Miss O'hara while she was in a wheelchair. He & The audience asked her questions & she answered them with no problem. They let her talk. She didn't need a peice of paper. Great interview. Why didn't the Oscars let her say what she wanted to say without that paper, for as long as she wanted to. She deserves more respect than they gave her. Like Barbara Stanwyck, the older she got, the more beautiful she became. Such class. Sadly, Hollywood is done with you when you become older, no matter how great you are.

Stephen Cogan Wow - You're right. I knew that she never won an Oscar. But, I assumed she would have been nominated several times. However, It seems to me to be more than a fluke. She was and still is a strong and opinionated woman & maybe that didn't serve her well at awards time back in the day. I have no proof of this. It's just a gut feeling. Best wishes - Ted
