@@nightheron5892 You should go, Mayo is a very scenic county. But that bit of North Mayo suffers a lot from depopulation. Might be best to base oneself in one of the bigger towns like Ballina, Westport or Castlebar and drive up.
What's changed today .all our youth are leaving .no places to rent ,and can't afford to buy.We need our young to stay and given the support to do so .Shame on our government.Nice to have memories,that's all most have now.
I am from Ballyvary Mayo my family left when I was 3yrs after generations and generations of living in the same place must go back hundreds of years and one change then everything changes. But now these days they talk of information from your ancestors existing in your dna. Irish people are all over the world so if lived experience is transferred to dna strings then these old ancestors have travelled all over the globe too.
Of course they did, they weren't used to cameras etc so they thought more about what they were saying......maybe more people should follow that example today!
