I don't know why, but YT keeps deleting my comment. It's so frustrating! 😮💨 I'm gonna try to respond on here, so maybe, my hard-won researching efforts will benefit you, as well as my friends and family! Lol 😂 I believe you need a steamer, Carla. After researching EVERYTHING that is available out there (that isn't in the $1,000 range), I came to ONE conclusion (to get through Home Depot, NOT Amazon - as there are reviews on various steamers mentioning how Amazon has been taking people's broken and not-great returns and swapping them out as new items 😖): You'll want the Vapamore MR-100 Primo Commercial Steam Cleaner, Multi-purpose Cleaning for Floors, Cars, Home Use. It's the cute, yellow one. Even though you would get it from Home Depot (your Lifetime Warranty would come from the company themselves + excellent customer service), you will want to look up the exact model on Amazon, so you can see vids of it being used. There is a guy on there that has used his for 7 years already, and he loves it! I have not seen or heard of a steam cleaner out there that has even lasted past 2 yrs, let alone a few months = there's A LOT of crap out there 😳. Anyhoo, I hope this helps you in your journey for wellness, order, and clean bliss in your apartment!! Woo hoo!! 💗🤗💗
@@LE-gs9moyes, I always wonder "if you're not happy, full refund in 30 days" deals, they have to wash, clean, check, repair and sell to the next order.... I can't seeing that much products being scrapped
Another tip to consider, Carla and all of Carla's fans, when bringing in new items, especially decorative items or furniture, ask yourself, "Do you want to dust that?" ☺ This one question helps me when I find myself walking the aisles of Hobby Lobby and the At Home store. ☺
You are so right! I love to shop the stores -- gives me a feeling of nostalgia or something? But I don't need to BUY all of the things. This is a good reminder that I have to care for all of these new things!
OMG YES! I do that too!! Like Carla's open shelving unit in the kitchen?! I think to myself, I LOVE the aesthetic, but I'm too lazy to have that in my home and be cleaning all that 😭 Especially with my dog who sheds like a beast 😂😭 The less open and glass/see through things, the better for me! 😂🙈
I'm so proud you finally got rid of that rickety coffee table! I've hated that thing for years on your behalf; you deserve useful, functioning, and enjoyable belongings, especially after how much of yourself you give to us viewers.
Only because you asked… I think you should try living without the bamboo shelf in the bathroom and the white shelves in the kitchen. You are so amazing at making space for others with limited storage. I’d love to see you do the same for yourself. I would want to see that challenge (even if you go back to using the shelves).
Agree with you on the bamboo shelf, because to me (even with a family of 5!) the bathroom has quite a bit of storage. But the white shelf in the kitchen seems handy and maybe 'necesarry' to not shove every cupboard full of items you cannot reached!
My thoughts on getting rid of the shelves in the kitchen (temporarily) was that there might be people with limited kitchen storage, and just as much stuff, but no space for shelves as big as those. This would just be an exercise for a video and not have to be permanent.
I love how you cleaned out the bathroom, pairing down your items into a nice makeup bag and then using those round boxes for other loose items really tidies up the shelves. I also love that your rug is washable. Samson is so sweet
One thing that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE about you is that you don't have any problem throwing away and donating items without even thinking about it. I also LOVE you helping your sister. She is such a BEAUTIFUL, LOVELY, KIND HEARTED person just like YOU!!!!! Great job on your progress! Please tell your sister I - WE ALL LOVE HER! ❤️
❤ declutter the bambo shelf, use the under sink cupboard and bathroom cabinet, have the floor clear. I did in my bathroom, I have very little products and simplify the the things I use and buy. Saves a ton of money too 😊 Love love love your apartment, such character :) if it was me I would pop the things on the kitchen shelves in the kitchen cupboards, as there isn't much, then sell the kitchen shelf. If would open up your kitchen floor space, be less visual clutter and the shelf is pretty but a bit modern for your cottage style kitchen. I always say if it doesn't fit in the cabinets I don't need it! but for me its a personal choice to have things put away in the cupboard, which is less visual and calmer for me. Whatever you do, will be wonderful. ❤ from Felixstowe Suffolk, Uk xxx 😊
I agree about the art. Time to do something with it. Whenever she does a serious declutter like this, it always looks nice in the end. She has a vision! She'll get it all done eventually. 🤗
I'm soooo guilty of this, too. I've minimized just about everything except artwork. I agree it should be hung up or let go of. I tried doing a gallery wall....big mistake...it was SO distracting and I ended up taking most of the art down, so now I really need to make some tough decisions.
@@pamelapeterson2987 If you have a garage or some other storage space, place it there temporarily, just to remove it out of the house and give yourself some breathing room. Out of sight, out of mind. Once it is stored there, you will soon realize you don't really want it and, thus, it will be easy to give away or discard. Once I put an item in a garbage bag or in the garage, it's a done deal for me. I've made the decision about it and it's a step closer to the trash bin, and I don't care about the cost paid for it.
I like the ‘living in the space I have just now’. I’d concentrate on having furniture/pictures etc that fit just now and worry about the next place when that happens. Make your space yours for just now, don’t buy for future buy for now x
Carla love the show, hang the long mirror on the inside of the dressing room door, that way you wont be looking at yourself in bed. This also gives you the option of opening the door and angling the mirror. In the bathroom can I suggest a shallow box with a hinged lid for your makeup. That way everything is hidden from sight but when you flick the box open everything is visible and accessible but you don’t have to route about for it. Hope these suggestions help.😊
Hi Carla! There are thousands of youtubers who do these decluttering videos but you're the only one that motivates me to do it for real! You are very authentic and like.. no bullshit 😂😊 Your house looks sooo nice 😊 keep up the good work!
You might want to consider keeping medication in the kitchen along with your supplements. The bathroom is generally considered too moist of an environment for meds.
@@saradillon1356Hmm? That's a thought, Sara, but it could be used to store other things besides medicine. It's great for hiding toothbrushes, toothpaste, makeup, depending on how much you have. What I do know is, since we're organizing, it's a good idea to keep similar items together instead of various places. 🤗
@saradillon1356 Medicine cabinets date back to the 19th century. We know better now. Ask your pharmacist or doctor. Mine both told me to keep medications in a cool, dry place.
I’d add that stage 4 (maybe stage 0) is not accumulating MORE. I’ve found that it’s not enough to just declutter. It’s important to also drastically lessen my consumption of items (yes, new AND used items) in the first place.
I got really good at not bringing in new items but I enjoy shopping in Charity (thrift) shops and need to get better about bringing second hand stuff in!
You are doing an amazing job. I could never do massive work like you do. I always do mine little by little as I go along each day. I have two rules that I never leave the house without it being totally tidy and I never go to bed without it being totally tidy. One other thing that helps for me is every time I open a drawer or a closet to get something out or put some thing in I’ll look through it and take out a few things and straighten it up. It only takes a second to do that but it keeps things at bay. This is how I have to manage things because I no longer have the energy or the health to do a massive clean. I’m proud of you and I think your apartment is going to look and feel so great. Thanks for sharing
Good for you! I used to let my kitchen go all week and then I would have to clean all the dishes and everything on Saturdays. Now I’ve gotten into such great habits that when I finish a meal, the dishes, get washed or put in the dishwasher and the kitchen gets completely reset. I gave my friend a hard time the other day because I went to her house and it was completely trashed. She moved into this house over a month ago, and she’s trying to do multiple projects at once and not really finishing the cycle. So she unpacked some boxes and they were all thrown on her patio, for example. She blamed it on the fact that the recycling bin was full, so I broke down all the boxes and shoved them in a larger box and set them up at the curb for recycling day. She hates clutter, and it drives her nuts. But she was just going on to other projects and not resetting the space.
Girl you were RUTHLESS in the bathroom 😂. Great job! If I had anything helpful to add it would be this: leave the samples at the store. Let them put it in the trash instead of you.
I don't often comment, but you are an amazing person. The migraines and other things you experience yet you carry on. This has been one of my favorite episodes.
My suggestion to get the open space you want is to take the tall shelving unit out of your bathroom. Now that you've simplified what you have on it, I would try storing those items under your bathroom sink instead. It would make your bathroom feel larger. I love your videos! Thank you for being relatable and down to earth. ❤ 🇨🇦
Love this! That shelf might be enough for the pared down kitchen. Then the white shelves in the kitchen can go behind the desk as printer/papers/linen storage
I feel that less “open storage” will help to visually declutter. It’ll rest the eyes/brain more & tremendously reduce the need to fully clear & clean every shelf, every item, every time you clean. *Great effort & determination; especially on the “get it out the door” part! WTG! 👍🏼
I have watched many of your videos and love them. Thank you so much! I read many of the comments, too. So, I cannot be the first person to comment on how beautiful you are, right? Like, head turning magazine cover beautiful! Wow! Please know I say this from a place of respect and admiration - not some place of internet-weirdness, lol. I'm a maximalist to the marrow of my bones - but tidy. Even so, I appreciate your process and approach to minimalism and have used some of your ideas. My favorite is the 25 items purge. I'll definitely will keep watching. Thanks again, Carla!
Love Samson trying to divert your attention from the fur balls under the kitchen shelving. He is so expressive! So glad you’re feeling better, Carla! ❤
You should do an art declutter, whatever stays should be hung up and donate the rest. Also, I would love to see you get behind the stove and fridge for deep cleaning, cleaning window sills, really dirty things that will freshen up your apartment. I know you don’t own this place but I think cleaning the gross corners will make you feel better. Love you apartment and style, can’t wait to see more😊
Amazing job decluttering! I don't have any suggestions for what to declutter, but I actually would recommend that you look into a little cabinet/dresser to use as a platform for your TV in the living room, where you could also tuck away spare blankets etc!
You sound better this week. Glad to hear you are feeling better. I saw you are a presenter for the Get Organized program again this year. Looking forward to your session.
So proud of you! As someone who has intermittent ongoing health "stuff", I can really appreciate the effort of the regroup and reset seasons when our bodies allow us. Sending healing, peace and love your way just as you do for all of us!! 🙏💛✨️
This video is inspiring me to (1) Go over my bathroom counter and simplify my skincare routine to just the items I do use daily, and put the rest away or throw away….. (2) go through my lipsticks and glosses and toss the ones I don’t love…. (3) go into my junk room, round up the donate piles and actually take them tomorrow. Love these videos they give me peace and inspiration.
ditto on the donations getting out of the house being a whole step by itself! I currently have a donate box, a box of vintage for a friend, and a random box for my mom. Plus my husband took items to 2 people this morning at church.
You know you've done a great job decluttering if the neighbors think you are moving out lol! Ahhh....don't you just feel like you can breathe again? I love a good (GREAT) declutter! It's amazing how much stuff creeps into our spaces!
Sent to you from Mack at Midwest Magic Cleaning and I am SO glad! Your encouragement and example is great! Love Sampson!!! Me and Rocky the Wonder Dog are on the same path!!♥️🐾
In terms of decluttering - I have always wondered about that small wooden outdoor folding chair ... perhaps it has a purpose like extra seating when you have friends over? In terms of upgrading - a new couch and maybe a chair or loveseat would provide more seating and YES YES YES - get yourself a new coffee table! Great work decluttering - you are ruthless and do it so well!
One thing that has helped my space feel less cluttered is adding closed storage. Adding closed baskets to open shelving or if you have the means, replacing open shelving with closed storage solutions. The less items visible in a space, the less cluttered it feels. For example you could put your extra seltzer waters in a closed basket or bin on your open shelves in your kitchen. That way you just see one item rather than several. As a bonus that would also open up counter space. Also, I love your videos. They are super real and demonstrate how a lot of people live. A lot of RUclipsrs have huge homes, abundant storage, and large budgets. That's not reality for most people. I live in a one bedroom apartment with a furry dog and my boyfriend. Things sometimes get cluttered and dirty, but we do our best with the time and resources we have. I love how you show maximizing space with fixes that are in reach.
Carla, Great job my friend!! I thought you were pretty ruthless!! Love your declutters because you actually do such a fantastic job!! It does feel good when the home is cleaned out and jobs done!!❤Love Sampson!!!
Thank you so much for your content, Carla! I loved decluttering and the freeing feeling after it’s done but the last year was pretty rough. Your videos motivated me and helped me clean out the storage under my sink. I was ruthless 💪♥️🌻
You might consider putting the tv on the entertainment cabinet or pitching it because the table you have it on is not stable and could tumble. Also the bamboo shelf from the bathroom could be relocated where the tv is to hide the heating unit and give you more storage. “Future me” leads to bad decisions and you control your space so do you👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I recently got a robot vacuum and it is so satisfying to know that under the couch/bed and other furniture is being cleaned regularly now. Makes me feel better about me pets hanging out under the bed too
You made me laugh out loud, when you were in the kitchen and holding candles and said, “No!” I don’t know why that made me laugh out loud, maybe because I could hear myself say the same thing about something. We get to the point where we’re just like no, that’s it, no, to something we know we won’t use. I’ve got to say Samson was so cute about that dog fur underneath that one shelf thing. He looked at you like, yeah, but he looked away, and then he walked away, Mom, go ahead and clean it up. Ha ha ha ha we all love Samson so much.🐶🥰😅 Everything looks great!!!
Dear Carla, you are doing a tremendous job!! The ease with which you discard things is amazing!! I agree you need a new coffee table and some sort of drawer system to store extra blankets and clothes in the bedroom. Love Samson 😊
I think, being sick really is a Lakmus Test kind of sorts for seeing if my appartment works ie I have too much stuff. I am chronically ill and disabled - if I cannot get the appartment back in order fast after a bad period, I know that I have to declutter. You must feel so good afterwars ( I always do!) . Loved everything about the video, your narration, the montages , the music, the samson sidekick!
Love love love your videos! I actually got rid of my coffee table years ago, because it always annoyed me how much clutter it collected and how much space it took away in my living room. I never regretted my choice. I only have a tiny stand next to my couch to set down my coffee mug or glass of water. Nothing else fits on there, so no more clutter hahaha.
The bathroom looked particularly amazing after your declutter, deep clean and refresh. If you are asking us to be a little ruthless, then I'd ask if there is any way you can let go of at least one of the shelves/shelving units you have now that you have less stuff to put on them. It would be so much easier to clean if you didn't have to move those shelving units around and it is also way to easy to clutter open shelves like that again....they are like a vacuum just waiting to gather stuff.
One of your best videos yet! I loved how you would say “One thing at a time” when u were decluttering. Step by step we will get there if we don’t get too overwhelmed. Great job, Carla! Hi to Samson!❤
Well done on all you got done. It’s a fantastic feeling when you are able to let stuff go. I laughed so much with Sampson ignoring all the fur 😂🐕🦺 Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 👏👍💪🙏💐🐕🦺
When you started moving the kitchen and bathroom shelves I thought for sure you were getting rid of it. I was like Carla is at a turning point. Just a thought, if you ever removed those shelves, a painting would fit so well in those spaces so it would still have cozy vibes.
I just commented the same about the shelves...I think she could let go of one or more since she has less stuff and it would make her space feel much more spacious.
A new coffee table, yes! I agree with others here. You deserve that yesterday. On another note, I am in the process of trying to minimalize my home but not be a minimalist, one of the reasons I love your content. You show us decluttering and organizing from so many different points of view as when you help your sister and friends. (I love these videos you share) Another thing is I have such respect for you because I've been there, pulling one thing up and finding 5 other things to clear, declutter and organize. I, too, am holding onto things I don't think I'll ever use, but they 'were a gift', 'cost so much', 'they so cute' etc etc etc. You helped me in ways you never will realize and I'm thankful you are here for me and others. I'm going to call it The Melinda Project now. You got me on a roll. PS. I think you're doing so well with everything! So so very well! PSS I tossed my plastic makeup organizer because after a month I looked at it and wondered why I wanted to clean more things on top of what I already had LOLOL Sending you blessings
Do not put the mirror in front of the bed!! If you already have issues to sleep, maybe reconsider it!!! Could be great if you put it inside of the closet door ... huge huges and love!!!❤😊
I am so proud! I see how hard you worked. I've been waiting for the coffee table to go. My suggestions are 1.) You can get velcro command strips to put that mirror on the back of your door. I've done it and saved a bunch of money. And 2.) I challenge you to get rid of the bamboo stand in your bathroom. It's mostly empty and some of those things like the big round bins can be stored elsewhere. ❤️ you 🩷 your channel
I love watching her videos, the style of them and her as a person and one conclusion I came to is that the reason she has to declutter frequently, might be because she seems to continue buying stuff. I think the only way to get a home organized and clutter free once and for all is by realizing you don't need all these handy gadgets, supplements, make-up and other stuff people tend to own way too much of it. I'm proud of her for letting go of so much make-up because beautiful as she is, she doesn't need so much of it anyway!
Kitchen looks wonderful- but my fav ia the bathroom!! So calm- I hate those little drawer things- always seem lie such a great idea but they never, NEVER work out of me the way I think they will. Small bags look less chaotic . I know you want a clear bag but not seeing all the things looks tidier without actually having to BE tidier(at least inside the bag!)
Well done video.less inventory in your home more time to enjoy life. I am a senior now and I am decluttering furniture too just simple things to have be well 🎉🎉
Carla, I'm so proud of you for getting rid of that plastic compartment organizer in the bathroom. You did good simplifying! 😀 Here's another tip: Buy a small handheld steamer to clean bathroom floor grout, or try a cheap trick to clean grout - use Clorox toilet cleaner. You know the kind with the tilted spout? Apply that to the grout and let sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Doesn't hurt to try it to see if it works on the bathroom floor. 🤗
I have a few tips and tricks that might be helpful. I have an apartment size leather sofa that is very easy to wipe clean, I have a dog too and the fur is airborne even though she doesn't get on the sofa and it never collects odors, or stains from body oils or products we might use on our hair and body. I used to live in a one bedroom apartment with no washing machine or linen closet so I only kept one set of bedding, I would take that to the laundry to wash and allowed my mattress and pillows to air out. I did laundry weekly so I only had seven towels, it kept my laundry manageable. I also have a coffee table that turns into a dining table, I also used it as a desk, that got rid of a lot of furniture and those things still work in the house I live in now. Lastly, I have seven work outfits, seven pjs, seven gym outfits, you get the idea. I do get all four seasons and I found a capsule wardrobe that works year round. I hope this helps. You did a great job!
Dear Carla, thanks for all the inspiring videos. I just found you this year and I'm almost done watching all your videos 😝 I hope this helps you: I saw how your apartment looked before many times. I keep my apartment minimalistic by really thinking about what I need to buy. Maybe you can beforehand say no to samples, new little items and just clutter you don't need and will be tossed anyway. We tend to throw clutter to places where they don't belong and it piles up. One other thing I have, are clear spaces: no Magnets on the fridge, nothing laying on the floor which you can hang on the floor 🙃 try to always keep your counters, couch ect. clean and free from unnecessary things. Also avoid to have little clutter island (your kitchen counter by the window). I also always try to hide "ugly" things such as shopping bags, or receipts ect. They have their own hidden place. I really like how much you decluttered in the bathroom. You almost don't need the bamboo shelf. That's another Tipp of mine: when you want to get rid of things, donate the big things. What I mean by that is, that the small things are usually on shelfs or dressers. Decluttering to that level where you can also get rid of your furniture which hold a lot of little things. Or find another solution to put your little things somewhere so you can get rid of some furniture. I hope you get me and those tips helped you. Im really looking forward to part 2.
I love your ruthless, mindful yet very demure declutter month! I hope you’re feeling better, it’s really tough to keep the daily admin going when you’re sick several weeks. On things that you could consider, maybe hiring a handyman off of task rabbit to re-install your curtain rods? A professional could fix that up easily and save you hours of stress. Also might be nice to buy new curtain rods (Ikea is great for this) so all the materials match - that’s a really easy renter-friendly hack to tie together all the accent details. Similarly, having your pictures hung up might really make the room feel tidier (another great task to outsource to a handyman).
I find the easiest way to declutter is to not let things into my apartment in the first place. I am ruthless when decluttering, but even more ruthless with what I let through my front door.
I love your goal is a tightly edited home. That's my goal too! I'm almost there. I started last spring. It's taken so long because I've been painting / remodeling as I go. I'm in the final stretch. It feels so good. My last project was my bedroom and I painted it almost that same blue gray color you showed in the video. My bedroom feels like a classy hotel now. I'm much less stressed with less stuff. My place is becoming a home of peace and not chaos.
Really enjoyed this video. You might want to consider getting a coffee table that converts to a dining table. There are some seriously cool ones out there that would look great in your apartment.
Thank you so much for inspiring me. I put you on pause and deep cleaned the fridge. I’ve needed to do that for years! Looks so nice now. Now, back to the show!
I think you should paint the grout in the kitchen. White then maybe it will all blend together. It would be a project. One lady i watched laid on her floor in the evenings and painted her kitchen grout. 6 kids, 2 dogs and a cat. ❤ Maybe move your bed infront of the window, desk ehere your headboard is now facing the window. Couch face the livingroom window, back open to the room. Refresh!!
You're always great company and a great inspiration. I got rid of a couch, a shoe rack, a small wooden shelf, and some kids toys all while watching this video 😅 Thaaank you ❤
I would definitely make a final decision on the art. Put it up or put it out. 😉 My little dog had issues getting traction on my hardwood floors, so I understand why Samson needs something. 😊. Just get you a nice size washable rug, and that should do it. 😉 You showed out on that bathroom! I would keep the shelving but maybe upgrade it when you get a chance. 👍🏼 I love that tee you got from Walmart. 😊 And lastly…I love Samson! Such a sweet boy and soooo chill! 😎
I enjoy your videos because of your vulnerability and transparency. One thing that occurred to me is the difference betwwen you wanting light and airy (glass shelves, clear containers) vs. the cluttered feeling of seeing all your stuff. I'd encourage you to consider this organizing technique as you buy a new coffee table or trade out storage options. Would a coffee table with storage suit you better or just feel bulky and fill with more stuff? You seem yo be finding your groove on how detailed you want your belongings sorted. So brave of you to live in the present and not keep things out of fear. It takes confidence to believe that you will have what you need in the future and you can give up items in your past without losing any piece of yourself. You teach us hoe to be better versions of ourselves. Thank you for that.
I think you have done great. It's a continuous process for all of us. You done awesome on all the bathroom stuff. You got rid of alot you would normally have kept. Just keep making your passes.
I think you did a fantastic job!! Your bathroom and kitchen are so streamlined now. Nice decluttering 👏 Samson says, please don’t declutter my treats, mom! 😊
I can almost smell how clean and fresh your kitchen is!! It literally sparkles!! Wish I had your mental energy. Lightbulb moment: I’m not living for my current circumstances either, I hold onto things for my future home. Who knows if it will ever come? It hasn’t thusfar. Meanwhile I’m not enjoying my home today whilst hoping for better. Thank you Carla for saying it. Sometimes you need to hear it from someone else.
I came here from Midwest Magic Cleaning and loved the declutterring you did! Mac inspired me to begin cleaning as a way to help my depression and make me feel better by having a cleaner, less cluttered house. I have to stop myself from buying stuff I “might” need versus what I really need and buying multiples because of my hoarding tendencies! Good job Carla, beautiful lady and loving dog mom!❤❤❤
Carla you are awesome! you have helped your family and friends and all of us that watch your channel. You inspire me and I am sure thousands of others. I am so blessed finding your youtube channel. THANK YOU LADY! 🤟
Love your channel, Carla! I love having a covered trash can in my kitchen, as well as my bathroom and living room. I keep them lined with bags so it’s easy to fill and empty them.
Long time subscriber & admirer of your honesty and hard work, but this is my first comment - GOOD WORK. You really cleaned, cleared and set yourself up to get the clutter out of your home. So good!
Loved the video! I think the kitchen looks great-I love the freestanding unit with glass shelves- the glass keeps it from looking heavy and overpowering the room. For people that cook, having that unit helps so much because some things are just too big to fit into cabinets, like Air Fryers. And as you get older, or if you have back trouble-units like yours in the kitchen are SO awesome for not having to bend over or crouch down to get something heavy from a cabinet. I LOVE IT. I would die to be able to find a stove like yours, in my area of the country they are non-existant. Carla, I'm watching your videos at work now instead of at home (no wifi there) and do so so the commercials can roll...I know it helps you! But today, one of the second commercials toward the end of the video was a 29 minute commercial. That's not a dang commercial-that's an entire sitcom! I know you don't pick the commercials, YT does, but they need to stop that crap-that should be a video on a channel-just telling you in case you are wondering why people didn't watch. Have a great weekend-thanks for sharing so much with us-it helps motivate me to just get up and do something, ANYTHING!
Hey Carla! I was amazed at how much you let go in this episode, like the bowls in the kitchen and items in the bathroom. Wow! Do you have a lot of vitamins you take daily? Like more than 3-5? Maybe that could be an area to declutter? ❤ What if you flipped the couch cushion to help distribute the pressure and keep it more fluffy? Like, lift the right side and flip it to the left? You have already done so much cleaning, organizing and decluttering in this episode and it looks great! ❤❤❤
You did a great job in the bathroom! I think it was a good idea to remove those see-through storage drawers. It looks more streamlined when you can't see all those little items.
I've been watching you for a while and it looks like you have been building your decluttering muscles! I'm glad you are feeling better. Your voice sounds lighter as you clean and declutter. I know that last step of getting it out is sometime the hardest. Give yourself space for grace...if you can't release things as ethically as you want (you have a lot of stops to make!) it is ok to trash it. Your peace of mind and time is the most important. Say hi to your sister - she cracks me up. The two of you are so fun to watch together.

@@LE-gs9moyes, I always wonder "if you're not happy, full refund in 30 days" deals, they have to wash, clean, check, repair and sell to the next order.... I can't seeing that much products being scrapped
I'm so glad Walmart sponsored you. 👌🙏
You deserve an unbroken coffee table-you deserve the world.
And a sofa she finds comfortable!
Yeah, she does! ☺
How do you know? Do you know her personally
@@nonya6522 She said that in a video a while ago
Yassss! You deserve the world ❤
Another tip to consider, Carla and all of Carla's fans, when bringing in new items, especially decorative items or furniture, ask yourself, "Do you want to dust that?" ☺ This one question helps me when I find myself walking the aisles of Hobby Lobby and the At Home store. ☺
Thank you for the ❤ 🤗
You are so right! I love to shop the stores -- gives me a feeling of nostalgia or something? But I don't need to BUY all of the things. This is a good reminder that I have to care for all of these new things!
@@lisacagestudio Exactly, and I don't want to spend a great deal of time dusting. ☺
@@alexandrac.l3359 We must be twin souls. 😄
The way Samson turned his head when you asked him about the hair 😂😂😂. Glad you're feeling better.
I'm so proud you finally got rid of that rickety coffee table! I've hated that thing for years on your behalf; you deserve useful, functioning, and enjoyable belongings, especially after how much of yourself you give to us viewers.
lol I can’t believe I’ve put up with that thing for so long!!
Only because you asked… I think you should try living without the bamboo shelf in the bathroom and the white shelves in the kitchen. You are so amazing at making space for others with limited storage. I’d love to see you do the same for yourself. I would want to see that challenge (even if you go back to using the shelves).
@@crimsonrose51NO don't get rid of the shelves. She doesn't have much storage and she needs that for storage.
Samson is just the sweetest...love him🤍🤍🤍
Samson is a cutie.
I love his close-ups! And he looks for handsome in his new collar. ✨
❤ declutter the bambo shelf, use the under sink cupboard and bathroom cabinet, have the floor clear. I did in my bathroom, I have very little products and simplify the the things I use and buy. Saves a ton of money too 😊
Love love love your apartment, such character :) if it was me I would pop the things on the kitchen shelves in the kitchen cupboards, as there isn't much, then sell the kitchen shelf.
I’m really glad you got rid of the broken coffee table 🎉 I would just say to be ruthless with the art, either get it on the wall or outta there! 🥰
I agree about the art. Time to do something with it. Whenever she does a serious declutter like this, it always looks nice in the end. She has a vision! She'll get it all done eventually. 🤗
agree! (I also don't do coffee table books! Too much clutter for me!)
@@GraceOfGuadaluperight?! I have enough stuff around!
I folded 3 loads of laundry, hung up a ton of clothes( we'll get back to that!) washed my sheets and cleaned my bathroom today.
Hi Carla! There are thousands of youtubers who do these decluttering videos but you're the only one that motivates me to do it for real! You are very authentic and like.. no bullshit 😂😊
Your house looks sooo nice 😊 keep up the good work!
You might want to consider keeping medication in the kitchen along with your supplements. The bathroom is generally considered too moist of an environment for meds.
Good idea! Plus, it's just good to keep all meds products in the same place.
why would they design medicine cabinets for bathrooms if that was the case?
@@saradillon1356Hmm? That's a thought, Sara, but it could be used to store other things besides medicine. It's great for hiding toothbrushes, toothpaste, makeup, depending on how much you have. What I do know is, since we're organizing, it's a good idea to keep similar items together instead of various places. 🤗
@saradillon1356 Medicine cabinets date back to the 19th century. We know better now. Ask your pharmacist or doctor. Mine both told me to keep medications in a cool, dry place.
@@lisemeitner3915 Then i guess i have some reorganizing to do, I always assumed that was the correct place for them, thanks guys.
The bathroom was the most inspiring and changing space ❤
I’d add that stage 4 (maybe stage 0) is not accumulating MORE. I’ve found that it’s not enough to just declutter. It’s important to also drastically lessen my consumption of items (yes, new AND used items) in the first place.
And free items which are endless in this line of work!!
Let them put it in the trash instead of you.
this^^ i stopped accepting samples. it saves from doing that exactly - throw them away years later.
hahahha yes!! my toxic trait is i ask them for samples lol
The kitchen floor tile looks like it's holding up really well.
I thought the same.
I thought that too
I don't often comment, but you are an amazing person.
Maybe an over the toilet storage might be a good alternative. Then taking out the bamboo shelf will help open up the space.
yes! the extra room in the bathroom would be wonderful!
Love you apartment and style, can’t wait to see more😊
I need to give my skirting boards a good cleaning. They get dirty so quickly every time 😱
Girl my windows 😢
agree completly that stove is so dang heavy!! i gotta figure out how to move it out!
You rocked it in this video. Enjoyed it.
She was awesome. She was in her zone! ☺
Yes - totally ruthless - like I was saying "oh no, I'll take that....." 🤣
Great job Carla - I admire you and your ruthless decluttering efforts
Yes, yes to not keeping the condiments, utensils etc from takeout!
Loved your content today, Carla. Ask your landlord if you can paint and add hardware to modernize kitchen cabinets.
Hey Carla, thanks for the motivation! While watching I’ve decluttered (a bit) & reorganized my winter & summer bed wear.
Carla, Great job my friend!! I thought you were pretty ruthless!! Love your declutters because you actually do such a fantastic job!! It does feel good when the home is cleaned out and jobs done!!❤Love Sampson!!!
Such a great job Carla! Now I just have to get up and start ....
Me too. 🤦🏾♀️
🙋🏻♀️
Thank you so much for your content, Carla! I loved decluttering and the freeing feeling after it’s done but the last year was pretty rough. Your videos motivated me and helped me clean out the storage under my sink. I was ruthless 💪♥️🌻
so happy to hear that!! ❤️❤️
Skincare and makeup is the most difficult decluttering for me. It has been a masterclass. Thanks!
Makes me feel better about me pets hanging out under the bed too
Thank you for keeping it real. The only thing that I would move is the toothbrush and store it inside the medicine cabinet.
You seemed much more committed to getting rid of stuff today. Fantastic job 🎉
Great job! I was waiting for you to really get into your bathroom. Your artwork needs to go on your wall.
Woman. You. Are. Gorgeous! Your first thing in the morning face is amazing!! Great job decluttering & cleaning!
Your bathroom effort is GLORIOUS! It looks terrific. So satisfying to see you getting rid of so much stuff!
Came here from Mac. That stove is STUNNING!
Walmart has "dorm room mirrors" on sale right now for back-to-school that will fit very nicely on your closet door!
PSS I tossed my plastic makeup organizer because after a month I looked at it and wondered why I wanted to clean more things on top of what I already had LOLOL
Sending you blessings
Holding you accountable. Show the drop offs I know, I'm evil, but motivation, yes?
Do not put the mirror in front of the bed!! If you already have issues to sleep, maybe reconsider it!!! Could be great if you put it inside of the closet door
... huge huges and love!!!❤😊
Samson saying haha… I could not stop smiling 😊
LOVE the CUTE Mary Jane Shoes!!
you really make me feel like i’m not alone and that things get away from us all
Kitchen looks wonderful- but my fav ia the bathroom!! So calm- I hate those little drawer things- always seem lie such a great idea but they never, NEVER work out of me the way I think they will. Small bags look less chaotic . I know you want a clear bag but not seeing all the things looks tidier without actually having to BE tidier(at least inside the bag!)
Every time I watch your videos, I go declutter something from my home😊 Thank you for getting me going.
I think the smell might be too much.
@@Xiroi87 I totally forgot she's sensitive to certain scents. Well, the steamer might work or painting it. There are odorless paints she could use. 😊
Love your channel! Samson is such a big help, So glad that you are losing the coffee
table! I woulda kept the spatter paint bowl tho 😮
You did a wonderful job in your bathroom!
Pull back the pretty shower curtain so you can see it!
The soothing music is better for my soul and mind, than the bathroom selection. Very enjoyable declutter overall.
Dear Carla, thanks for all the inspiring videos. I just found you this year and I'm almost done watching all your videos 😝
I hope this helps you: I saw how your apartment looked before many times.
I so want to see you hang your kitchen painting in the tile. I think it would be so freaking cute! Your place looks great!
Refresh!!
Great idea! I recommended getting a handheld steamer or using the Clorox toilet cleaner. However, painting it sounds like an awesome idea!
You're always great company and a great inspiration. I got rid of a couch, a shoe rack, a small wooden shelf, and some kids toys all while watching this video 😅 Thaaank you ❤
I would definitely make a final decision on the art. Put it up or put it out. 😉
My little dog had issues getting traction on my hardwood floors, so I understand why Samson needs something. 😊. Just get you a nice size washable rug, and that should do it. 😉
You showed out on that bathroom! I would keep the shelving but maybe upgrade it when you get a chance. 👍🏼
I love that tee you got from Walmart. 😊
And lastly…I love Samson!
I liked the clear plastic bathroom organizers, you can see your items and separated by category.
I think you did a fantastic job!! Your bathroom and kitchen are so streamlined now. Nice decluttering 👏
Samson says, please don’t declutter my treats, mom!
Good job Carla, beautiful lady and loving dog mom!❤❤❤
i am the same! always having to make sure i am not buying next shiny thing that will end up overwhelming me in my home glad to have you here!❤️❤️❤️
Carla you are awesome! you have helped your family and friends and all of us that watch your channel.
What if you flipped the couch cushion to help distribute the pressure and keep it more fluffy?
