Apologies the video blacks out a bit at 2:35 because Premiere Pro wanted me to gatekeep this effect from y’all but I won’t let it. Basically all that happens during that time is I do Cmd/Ctrl+G on the smart object to put it in a group. Then I choose a layer style from my layerstyles panel that has some outer glow to give the whole gridded overlay a glowy look. I go over the settings for that layer style shortly after.
These are really cool! Would love to see more of these experimental effects! I’m learning both about these awesome experiments you create and while watching you play around in the program I’m also being exposed to areas of photoshop I never use which is so great because it broadens my photoshop vocabulary which as a designer is one of my most important assets
loved the effect and just wanted a quick help, if possible, applying the glow - when I try, it applies on the entire layer// of the mosaic effect, despite inverting and putting it into a separate group; any way around that? is there something I am missing? Able to get everything right except the glow. thank you for the tutorial, straight up fire.
Hey, regarding your .PSD template based assets, is their funtionality limited to the pixel x pixel size of the canvas you deliver them at? Presumably the texture sets ups and so on are using image files which max out around whatever the template resolution is.
For Analog Looks displayed in this video, no, you can resize to any dimensions/resolution if your liking, since the textures are all seamless pattern files. It’ll automatically fill the document no matter the size, without needing to change scale of the texture/pattern. That’s one of the great parts about it.
I was getting the same problem. I found if your duplicated layer is a raster layer, do all the effects up until adding the inner glow, gradient and outerglow, and then convert to a smart object, it works like in the tutorial.
