Adobe is going to be discontinuing support for Dimension and 3D in Photoshop. It really sucks. I’ll still be using Photoshop to make 3D objects for now but I’ll start to use Substance 3D Stager for 3D material, textures, patterns, etc. New stuff is coming soon!
It's scary how accurate this video is base on what I was looking for. And it get even better since you delivery the perfect instructions on this tutorial. I literally copy everything you have done with another shape and it worked perfectly! Thank you!
@@ehrenperle728 Blender is the most user-friendly and it's free! Though all 3D design software can be quite daunting, there are so many tutorials on youtube
thanks so much for the tutorial :) i would love to see one using dimension creating similar/same as well! especially adjusting part after making it 3d, for me that's when i struggle the most
Would it be easier to make the 3D object in a 3D software like Cinema 4D or Blender? Would def be interest in a tutorial that teaches how to import 3D object from Blender into photoshop. Thanks
I'm more familiar with Photoshop and I have only used C4d & Blender once. Personally, I've found it easier to do it this way just because there isn't really a learning curve and the design isn't complicated. New versions of Photoshop don't support 3D anymore so I will be doing some things with Blender in the future.
@@RiddingInk that's really bizarre that they are discontinuing 3D capabilities in PS. Maybe they are trying to push more people to use Substance instead so they make more money by having to pay for both. Wouldn't surprise me with Adobe.
It might look a lot better, but it'll take an hour to model, texture, and light the objects for a complete beginner. This method is the path of least resistance.
that's so weird. in 3:49 when i change the 3D properties in couture to your settings, my distorted orbs turn black and has a stream of light to it :/ not like a blob at all. idk how to troubleshoot this
There is a part in the video where you skipped the letters to be 3D. The background became 3D when you clicked on “create 3D on selected layer”, but you skipped on how to make it only the font to be 3D
Are you talking about the 3d environment that appears when in 3d mode? If so you just have to click "no" when the message asking "do you wanna switch to the 3D workspace?" appear.
Thank you, really glad you liked it! I’ve done some chromatic glass before but never 100% in Photoshop. I’ll look into it and hopefully make a video on it soon.
@@RiddingInk actualy if you can make more dimension tutorial it would be great for everyone! There almost no good tutorials and it could help you create a new niche and grow your channel, that is if that your goal :) maybe a mix of both - photoshop and dimension, some new interesting workflows.
This is such an amazing tutorial, how do you even stumble upon making something like this? I've been looking to make chrome orbs almost exactly like this but could never quite figure it out
Amazing tutorial! However Im having a problem when creating the 3D effect. My shape is stretching towards one of the canvas corners ,when I input "strenght" into the 3D properties panel. My PS version is 23.4.2 , I guess that's the problem ?
Hi, thank you for putting out such a detailed tutorial. I made a design thanks to your video. But I have one problem when I tried to create my 3D chrome object, which is that after I chose the texture, if I try to rotate the object, it loses that texture. I don't know if I'm missing a step or if there's any thing that could cause this. If you could please help me with this issue, that'd be great. Thank you!
@RiddingInk Thank you for this amazing video, I wanted to do this but weirdly it's not working for me. And the glitch is happening at the very beginning when we go to "cap" select the half round contour, make the inflate angle 90, and suddenly when I start increasing the strength this is where things go wrong and i get like a depth of the shapes that goes to the left corner of my canvas. I wish I can attach a picture to show you, but I've tried many ways, it's just not working. Frustrating! although I have the latest photoshop application.
hey, what did you click when each shape became one and why did it suddenly become a merge group? you are very fast, as a beginner I don't understand what you click 😭
I have version cs6 and at 2:54 on this tut, You show opening properties in 3d, by clicking the little star. After I open 3D, there is NO litte star at the top of that window. I really want to learn this but just can't find that step. anyone got any help there?
when I adjust the strength of the inflate within the Cap section, even 1% of strength makes my blobs very sharp :( can you help me fix this? i think i follow all the previous steps correctly
