Another arm of antiviral defense could be to avoid deficiencies in the body and have good nutritients.

That is true. The population studies regarding Covid risk factors are very clear. Reduction of risk factors substantially decreases the severity and lethality of disease. Weight control, diabetes control, smoking cessation as several other lifestyle changes can greatly reduce the risk of that disease in particular.
This may also apply to certain other viruses.

And eat more fat and protein. And add vit/minerals.
People having defieciencies is profitable for the medical professionals.
