I’m really glad they have more single player content again. Even though I’ve been playing since 3, I enjoy the single player content more than the online/competitive content. Tekken 7 was SORELY lacking in this area.

13:10 During the Tekken talk at the TWT finals they confirmed you can have 17 players in a lounge where the 17th was added for spectating purposes so people can run and stream online tournaments smoothly. So spectating from a lounge will be there at launch.
The reason to watch a review instead of a summary is to avoid mistakes like this one. The con is not lack of spectating AND custom rooms but lack of spectating IN custom rooms. You can spectate matches in public areas, but if you make a room with friends, you can’t spectate those matches for some reason. The reviewer hopes this can be updated in a patch.

IMHO, 2023 had games that were reviewed super leniently like Diablo 4, Starfield, Sea of Stars, Alan Wake 2 and Hi Fi Rush, i.e. overrated. Infinite Wealth and Tekken 8 were rated more strictly and scores should be higher, like at least 92 on Metacritic. Infinite Wealth has a 100% recommendation on Opencritic, yet the scores are lower than games that have a 93% recommendation on Opencritic.
Adapting the bloodborne attack to heal mechanic to a fighting game is a great way to encourage more offensive gameplay and should be adopted by more fighting games.
since Tekken 3, it was hard to imagine a sequel that would rival that hype, then we got Tekken 7. Since T7, you would be forgiven to think thats the best it will ever get, now we have T8. Best fighting game series of all time confirmed.

But as others have said, Covid has caused issues to where they opt in for console beta tests instead of field tests in japan. The upside to this is that you get better international feedback before launch. As for the arcade release, Harada did mention that it would come later.
Tekken 8 has a lot of great potential and I'm really loving the gameplay for Story Mode, battle modes, and the online gaming as you can explore the Tekken world!!! And it's really nice that they brought all of the Tekken soundtracks for this game- I'm definitely going to be jamming all night listening to the Beach OG & Remix versions from Tekken 4 & Tekken 7!!!!

Love the new offensive focus. The constant KBD’s and poke fishing always made Tekken tourneys kinda boring to watch. Hopefully this will change that.
The jukebox feature alone is enough for me to get the game!

Tekken > King Of Fighters > Soul Calibur are my top 3 fighters. Old school MK and SF were great but, new ones are just very gimmick feeling.
