    Thank you, Dessi! That is true about the dates helping labor and delivery. My daughter ate them with her first baby and second baby. She went into spontaneous labor, no induction. He was born on his due date.

    Oh erm geeeee! I made this, minus the dates and with 4 cups of water, and I loved it😫😫 I drink silk unsweetened vanilla almond milk (which I love... I hate almond breeze though) and the taste of this after making it was just soooooo good! I used both vanilla essence and extract and sweetened by glass using Splenda.
    Never buying store bought ever again 🤭🥰

    I thank you so much for introducing me to cashew ice cream. I had to give up eating ice cream few years now because the older I get I realize each time I would consumed ice cream, I became so gassy. I have tried several different non dairy and I didn't enjoy the taste. I came across your channel and in your Whole Foods video I saw SO brand cashew salted caramel ice cream omg, it's amazing and available at my local Walmart in Virginia. Thank you thank you very much. I am now a subscriber and I enjoyed all your videos.

    I have made almond milk several times now and experimented by adding organic powder sunflower lecithin (about 1 tsp per 4 cups of water). this helps keep it from separating and preserve it in the fridge a lot longer. Doesn't affect the taste much at all.

    Instead of adding vanilla extract, add vanilla Ka'Chava. Soooo much more flavorful. Also, boil half of what you make then add it to the other half in the blender. Makes it thicker.

    I tried this recipe today and would suggest one change: I recommend pouring the milk through the nutbag a second time after blending the dates to remove any additional date fiber. The flavor of this milk is enjoyable (reminds me of horchata) but I found that the consistency wasn't as smooth as I was hoping for after adding the dates. I wouldn't call it chalky but I would say it was there was a detectable difference. This may have been an error on my part since it was the first time I've made almond milk. A vitamix and a nutbag were my tools. Other recipes call for honey as a sweetener which would probably yield a smoother milk if that it what you are looking for. Did anyone else have a similar experience to mine?

    • @jetlagandlovinit
      @jetlagandlovinit 5 лет назад +3

      *The last step in the directions says that the taste and texture greatly improve after 8 hours of refrigeration. I will have to report back after I've waited :)

    • @jetlagandlovinit
      @jetlagandlovinit 5 лет назад +2

      The texture did get better but is still noticeable. The cinnamon and date particles tend to sink to the bottom of the liquid. In summary: warm tasting with a slightly coating mouthfeel.

      It did happened to me. But I don't care that much since it's used for make fruit shakes for my 2yo son. The only thing would be the amount of dates, wich would be 3 or 4 since the fruit has a lot of sugar (bananas) and the result was a very sweet shake.

    • @roger12393
      @roger12393 3 года назад +1

      Yes, the same thing happened to me also I went back and strained it I didn't like the little bits of dates left in the milk. Also after adding the dates my pure white milk turned tan. What a disappointment. Did yours turn a tan color after adding the dates?

    • @XSilvenX
      @XSilvenX 3 года назад

      @@roger12393 I don't see how you could avoid the color change considering you're adding dates. No real way to get around that. It's just visual anyway, plus there are other sweetener options if anything.
