- Almond milk is a great dairy-free nut milk and it's incredibly easy to make at home. It's healthier than many store-bought options (no gums or chemicals) and all you need are almonds, water and a blender. That's it!
The best almonds for homemade almond milk are organic, raw almonds. Almonds are nutrient-dense and have many health benefits. From there, you can add a sweetener of your choice, a pinch of sea salt and vanilla extract if you'd like. Enjoy!

Hi guys! I get asked all of the time if the process to make almond milk is the same as cashew milk (my personal favorite). And there is a slight difference. So today I wanted to show you how to make almond milk at home! If this is your nut milk of choice, now you won't have to buy it from the store again. Happy Sunday! xo - Lisa
hooo tqqq mam
your recipes are really delicious and healthy
Loved this Lisa. Thank you so much. 🙏🎋🎍
Downshiftology can you do a video on how to do oat milk as well please
Downshiftology thank you I loved it!, how much does this milk last in the refrigerator?
When you are so ready to make it and then you hear overnight
You can use warm water to make the process go faster
Same 😩
Fax
If it's easier on you,we've all been trough it
Mother taught me to boil the almonds on heat, takes 15 mins.
They peal instantly after cooling down
It's better to peal them you know, almonds skin is kind of hard on our system
I don't strain my almond milk I let it run for 2 minutes on high in my Vitamix. It comes out creamy. I also add cinnamon and maple syrup. to taste after done.(per glass) Personal preference. Great recipe! Thanks for sharing. I love your videos.

What about calories in unstrained?
What a great idea! I will try not to strain next time too.
Imagine how good it would be using almond butter!
@@ditchthedietstudio-fitness1376 use almond butter. It’s so much better!
Made this tonight without soaking almonds or straining. I also used 5 dates instead of 2. It’s heavenly. Thick and creamy. Can’t imagine why I would want to strain this.
So you just blended it?
And it works?
@@AnonymousTales23 Yes. It's pretty thick but I like it.
Edit: I jus did dis widout soaking almonds added honey cinnamon nd vanilla it was divine have stored the rest in the fridge! Tks for this amazing tip!
B4 the edit:
Thank u am gonna try it rite away! Was upset wen I learnt it had to be soaked nd jus scrolled thru comments nd found urs!
wouldnt it be pulpy???
Finally a good almond milk recipe
It's so easy to make too! Hope you enjoy!
Downshiftology Thx
For how long can fresh almond milk made at home be stored?
They're all the same.
You are my 'go to' for all things healthy and basic. Thanks for doing all the work you do for us to enjoy better health. I truly appreciate you.
Can’t believe how much money I spend on Almond milk. Wow! Didn’t know it was so simple to make.
It is so simple to make right at home! 😊
My first recipe in my new Vitamix! I watched your video and the second time went so much easier. I love the inside-out bag trick. WOW!! There is no comparison to store-bought. I am a long-time fan, and your meal prep tips are vital to my meal planning. I will be making hummus and beet hummus soon. Obviously, I will be able to make all of your Vitamix recipes.
Thank you so much. This is so helpful for my family. My son and I are not vegan but do have a dairy allergy. I stumbled across you trying to find dairy free recipes. Believe it or not trying to find dairy free recipes to replace things is very hard. Until I found you. Now I look for vegan recipes and it solves my problem. Thank you love your recipes.
You're welcome! So glad you're enjoying my recipes and videos. :) x
I recently poured a cup of almond mylk into my glass, then read the ingredients: 1.5g of fat. I was like, 'What?? So what makes this cup of mylk so thick?" It's gotta be the guar gum and xanthan gum. Blew my mind. No wonder home-made tastes and feels soooo much better.
Perfect timing, I was looking for a recipe today but I trust you will have the best. Thanks 🙏😊
Aww, thanks so much! Hope you enjoy!
Hi Ms. Lisa! I just made my own almond milk today! Awesome! So happy. Thanks for sharing and the inspiration while watching your videos! 👏
I started making my own milks and creams when I didn't like the "natural ingredients" or HEK-293 commercial companies began putting in their products. This has been a wonderful experience. My favorite is Brazil nut milk. I got the nuts at Trader Joe's. I used the recipe for almond milk with the milk-nut-bag process.
I also make the creamer and add Nielson-Massey peppermint or orange extract to flavor it.
Your narration is clear and crisp, so it's more fun to watch. 👍
Thank you for sharing this recipe! I love the taste of almond milk and it’s also very calorie-friendly. It’s quite expensive compare to other nut milks in the grocery store though..so thanks!
You don't want the grocery store stuff anyways, it's over processed and filled with unnecessary sugar.
Thank you so much for sharing your recipe about almond milk. I just made the milk yesterday then refrigerated, I could not believe how clean, fresh and delicious this almond milk is, I will never buy my milk again from the store.
Thank you Lisa for this video and for sharing your recipe! I made almond milk for vegan guests and they loved it. Even Hubby G, who loves cow's milk, preferred it. This almond milk will be a new staple in our house and may even replace regular milk. Some observations: I used two pitted dates and found it a smidge too sweet.
(I was the only one with this opinion).
Also, I used cheesecloth because I don't have a nut milk bag and it was a bit hard to keep the cheesecloth in my hands after it got wet. I will definitely be purchasing a nut milk bag for ease of squeezing. This milk is so easy to make and I'm so glad I know exactly what I'm putting into my body. Thanks again!
So happy you and your husband enjoyed the recipe Victoria! :) x
Love this!! I have a baby girl and I want her to eat as naturally as possible so I definitely will be using this recipe for her! I feel like as long as you can choose what your kids eat, why would you not want to give them the most whole, natural, healthy options possible?? Thank for another great video! 🤗🤗
Yes, I agree! Enjoy the recipe Aja. :) x
Why don't you breastfeed her. That's natural.
@@BasedForever0 maybe she is a toddler and off breast milk. Duh.
That's great that you are so careful about what your baby eats! I am going to try almond milk in my new Nutribullet!
The childs brain needs breast milk fat for the brain to grow in the first 3 years. It does the most growing and neural connections in that time. Extremely important! No nut milk substitute. Talk to pediatrician first. U dont want her not to get the proper brain nutrition. U could effect her brain development.
Thank you Lisa for this amazing recipe. I'm in love with almond/soy/hazelnut milk. I use the pulp for cakes and you can also use it into hummus for a very earthy flavour :)
Yes, you can definitely save the pulp and use it in a variety of recipes. But I've never added it to hummus. Will have to try that!
Can I just ask..... if I dehydrate the pulp, will it give me almond flour? /meal?
Ok I’m just curious how can I use it as a hummus? Do I have to add anything extra? I made almond milk two years ago and saved the pulp but I don’t know if I can just dip carrot sticks on it?
@@Sonicxis4ever
They don’t use it as hummus, they ADD it to their hummus, during the making/process of blending up hummus from scratch.
Thank you very much. I'm definitely looking forward to making this. I had no idea it was so simple.
Whenever I need some recipes, you're always here to show me how to make them.🥰
Lol~ have almond at home and I didn't know I can make milk of them, I love milk. I have to try it
Enjoyed your version and this video! I have not made it in a while but I used the bag of Trader Joe’s raw sliced almonds ( without the outside casing) soaked over night then only used water. I baby my nut bag. lol Love it. I can only handle this home-made almond milk as it does not have all that extra ingredients in carton. I use a Vitamix but before that used just a regular bar blender. Vitamix does a superb job! Note that I find mine is good for three days and I use a large mason jar with the plastic white lids for my almond milk.
I am thrilled to know that there is something I can make with the left over almond pulp! Back then, I could not find recipes. Will look into yours! ❤️🙏🏻
Only 3 days? Dang!
Thanks! We love almond milk many different ways. Since we make so often I have a couple tricks I use. First measure what your soaked almonds come to, about 2 cups. I then soak a whole Costco bag, rinse, and freeze. Since I know the measurement I just scoop out and add water. It keeps it colder also. If you want to use right away use less water and blend. Add ice to chill and blend for a short time, cold milk! Thanks again for all your great recipies!
Thanks for sharing those tips Danielle!
Dear Lisa I came across ur recipe 5 yrs ago wen it wasn’t a trend at all nd saved it in my archives. It nvr came to fruition until today nd I thank u for dis wonderful simple recipe. Thank you for all ur wrk! Gbu!
I normally make almond milk with the almond skins on. Today, I removed the skins with my fingers after soaking overnight and the almond milk is really nice as an iced coffee. I think it improves the taste. Yum. I also soaked for 24 hours to help loosen the skins.
Thank you for the advice! Only reason I’m not doing it is because I don’t have the strainer bag thing lol. Gonna do it your way !
U are suppose to remove skins as skins toxic just soak in boiling water for 5-10 mins they come off lot easier
Why not go ahead and take a little pain(extra time) in peeling the skin off, of the plumped almonds which comes off easily, that way there will be no need to strain the residue.
I do it, so thought of suggesting.
Yes, that's definitely an option. :)
Actually if u peel the skin n then blend n strain .the pulp which remains can be added to a banana or apple n again use little water to make a great shake .
If u r using apple add cinnamon n jaggery powder for sweetness .
N in Banana use pinch cardamom powder .Tastes really good .
Confused by the “this is cheaper” comments cause it’s not lol! Almond milk by almond breeze is $3.50/$4 but to make these (by finding the cheaper raw almonds) would put it at $6 a container ($14.50 a container for the linked raw almonds)... however it’s much healthier so I’m going to give it a try anyways. This was a pretty decent demonstration, thank you!!!
Store bought usually has additives. Home made just water and whatever you add
Thank you for this recipe! I just did this and waiting for it to get chilled. ❤️
Wonderful! I hope you enjoy this almond milk recipe 😊
If I'd known it was so easy to make almond milk, I would've made it long ago! Great video Lisa! Thank you ❤

Hi! Just wanted to say thanks for sharing, your videos are great, I just found you yesterday and I think I've seen at least 20 so far! For now I'm going to start saving up for a vitamix as I would love to do my own nut milks and nut butters. Keep them coming!
Wonderful! A Vitamix definitely is a worth-while investment. And I'm happy you're loving all my videos Valeria!
Wow! I've been wanting to make my own almond milk. Thanks for this! :-)
You're welcome!
Loved it!!!! I’m obsessed with that vitamix😍😍 I need that for my almond milk😭😭

I'm definitely trying this! I go through almond milk so much in my house

Did it separate while in the fridge?
almond milk is the best im happy to know you can make it, at the store is cost like 3.50 ima make it tmr
Thank you so much Lisa. I love almond milk. I'm gonna have to make this ...
Hope you enjoy!
I can’t believe it was that simple! Thank you! So much! ❤️ I am so going to try making this recipe ^_^
Yes! It's super simple. Cashew milk is even easier as you don't have to strain it. But both are great!
Finally some milk that don't get bad
It still goes bad, all food items eventually go bad. But yeah, it just lasts longer I think.
Just made it and used coconut sugar as a sweetener. It was soooo good and the best part: I knew what went in it and it was only 2 ingredients! Almond and coconut sugar 😍 I forgot to add the salt and it was still great!
Another simple, great recipe.
Thank you!!💟
You're welcome!
Great video! Question: How long can you preserve a batch of almond milk in the fridge before it turns bad?
another question: Can you preserve homemade almond milk in a vacuum sealed jar or container?
It's so easy to make. I wonder if i can pull it off in my regular blender .
You may be able to with this recipe!
Yes u can I do it all the time in my Nutribullet
@@mssherceo Thanks for the heads up as I own a Nutribullet also, any tips for making the almond milk using a Nutribullet?

Can you use a handheld blender?
Love this and the cashew milk SO MUCH!! Thank you for the instructions and also the advice about the nut milk bag inside out...I do that all the time for almond milk & clean up is a breeze! Again, thank you!

Hi! How long will a batch of almond milk keep in the fridge?
I have more details on the full recipe. But up to three days. :)
Loved the guide, for how long can we store this ? Or do we have to make and consume same day ?
I was hoping to see and answer to this
You can store it in the fridge just like regular almond milk
Thank you!🤗 I'm trying this recipe tomorrow for sure!!
I remember many years ago making almond milk by blanching and removing the almond skins, straining in a clean pair of nylons (remember those?). This is quite a bit easier...thanks for sharing. My VitaMix comes tomorrow-I’m a bit excited!
Thanks Lisa for sharing a beautiful receipe. Quick question: How long will this Almond milk stay fresh in fridge?
Came here for this, too. Like she purposefully left it out.

I’m so pleased I found you again.
Thank you for making this my market has raw almonds. I’m thinking of making at home almond milk with my mom, or dad. I actually like having my milk with oatmeal.
Why not re-blend the almond pulp with half of the amount of water and get a small batch from it?
Ernesto Caamano A better idea would be to store them until you get a good amount and then bake them off and finally pulse it to get almond flour. It’s much cheaper and tastes exactly the same.
This is so awesome thank you so much fir helping my household become healthier
I just want to say , thank you . Tried your recipe and it’s delicious .

It lasts for 3-4 days in the fridge.

What is the lifetime of almond milk once prepared? Could anyone answer this please?
3 days
Thank you Daniel
Has anyone dried the pulp and then made almond butter? It seems a waste to discard the pulp.
Sherwood Cosmo/Healthcare almond butter requires the whole roasted almonds cause of the oil/fat content in the almond. I heard you can make almond meal or flour out of the remaining pulp but I’ve never tried it. You can always throw it in your garden for compost.
Love the bag inside out tip!
Looks delicious, loved how you used the dates.
Yes, dates are a great sweetener! :)
You call it nut milk but almonds aren’t nuts they’re seeds...
this was a great recipe but for the love of god please stop saying nut milk
why ?
@@sylviaking8866 nut milk= sperm milk
Ok, we can also say for dairy “cow’s lactation with pus and other unnatural elements to feed our body”. I can’t understand this issue that people have with the word...do some real research on milk and what’s really in it for you if you continue to drink it and don’t worry that much with words...health is more important than that
