Thank you for posting, my dad played in the RAF band and year later he, along with other members of the band died in a tragic accident. This is the only video I have actually seen him play..and a brilliant close up of him too! THANK YOU
Thank you for posting this on RUclips. I was performing at that event but this is the first time I have ever seen any footage of it whatsoever. The 40th anniversary of the liberation of Belgium and almost another forty years (37) before I got to see this. 😃
That busby was introduced in 1977 and was patterned after a slightly more round fur and cloth version that was modelled on the old flying helmets and worn during the 1920,s and 30,s . They were apparently VERY glad to have these hats replaced by peaked caps once again.

I even remember this performance when it was broadcasted on Flemish television. It only happened one time.
