I think i would have painted the new part first with OD green, for the undercarriage I have been using Rust-oleum rust reformer primer, then the camo colors OD green paint, on parts like this it is a close enough color match and cheap basic protection. I am very lucky with my M715 since 73-74 it was a brush fire truck and the mechanic that supported the fire department was real good with program maintenance. No dried out grease fittings. Since it was so clean, yep the original undercarriage color was the same as the rest of the truck. Prior to the fire department My truck was a reserve storage vehicle didn't even have 500 miles on it when they got it, I saw the original title, been kicking myself for not getting a picture of it. Bumper marking FRC-67 Based on what records i can find federal reserve command for 67th armored in Germany, kept in a warehouse in the USA for replacements had the Russians tried what they are trying right now in Europe.
I didn't have time to let it dry before installing it, so I painted it after it was on the truck. This ambulance was sent through a maintenance program in 1982 that had it undercoated for rust protection. So everything on the underside on it is black.
No, I don't. You might try looking up a local truck spring shop in your area. It's nothing special for a shackle bolt. Take the old one in with you and I bet they can match it.
Good catch on the broken shackle before it came all the way apart.
Was lucky it didn't give out all the way. Thanks
Good job.
Thanks

Do you have any leads on that grease-able shackle bolt? All of the big companies don’t have any
