Wow, really excellent video!!! Please make another video once you receive the metal printed part. Would like to see the quality of the part. Please make more videos about reverse engineering. Amazing good 3d scanning channel. Keep on the excellent work!!!
your channel and tips are incredibly helpful, thank you. I was driving myself crazy, for hours, trying to get solidworks to line up the point cloud with the axis' correctly. That software did a better job than I could in >2 hours in solidworks. You should show more features of that software that you use.
I did print a stainless steel part with jlcpcb too. 0.1mm accuracy on my part. Had to file a little, the part was very strong. It’s incredible that we can let it metal printed. CNC machined your part would cost a lot more than 100$.
Wow. Very talented. I learn alot from your videos. I'll definitely need to start working with Cloud Compare and Blender. I picked up an Otter for Christmas and so far I'm not having much luck. I find I'm wanting more dimensional accuracy for precise fitment parts. I'm also not finding the geometry or texture tracking useable at all, as part features like holes are simply 'scanned over' and losing the feature. My hardware is only supporting 8-10fps as well, which is likely making the problems worse.
I'm making a new tutorial video with Otter. I use another 3rd party, easy to use software called "Adobe Substance Modeler". You should check that out. It's much easier than Blender and ColudCompare. Most people should be able to learn in 3-4 hours.
Hey GREAT information for beginners. Thanks you! Perfect high level of each component. Im really interested in the analysis part and how that factors into material selection but more importantly how you plan the selection process and considerations for modeling your part. Also really interesting about the tapering! Have u done a more in depth vid on any of that?
I’d think the taper is for the injection molding, and not to make it more difficult to copy. Just a guess, and I may be wrong. I’d 3D print the part myself in PLA first to verify it fits before ordering the metal part.
It's only 5mm thick, I think it should be ejected from the mold easily and the taper angle from 4 sides are in different angle. But you could be right. I'm not expert in this department.
They should add an alignment function for X-Z and Y-Z planes in addition to the X-Y plane to CloudCompare, so that you wouldn’t have to do it by eye. I’m surprised you can’t do this.
Well done Monsieur!👍 very pro explanations! I have a question for you, how precise you can get with raptor? Let's say the part is about 600mm x 600mm with 25 holes in it. Thanks!
Reliable accuracy for Raptor is 50 um and Otter is 250 um when scanning metal surface. Surface condition has less effect to dimension in blue laser mode (Dark, bright or shinny will get similar result) and it only tracks with markers which are stationary.
Is Fusion capable of everything you mention or does one need Solidworks? what other good alternatives do you recommend? Any thoughts on doing a vid on CAD comparison videos?
Hello ive been watching your videos and see that you use cloud compare but I dont know how you unlock the plugins(im pretty sure its on github but I lack the know how)... could you share a video on how to setup the software or make one on how you did it?
I download CloudCompare from here. cloudcompare.org/release/index.html#CloudCompare I never have to install any other plugin. All the tools are all there.
@@Payo-TensileCreator Thank you very much for your response, I take this opportunity to tell you that I greatly appreciate your content and I have learned a lot thanks to you, I even bought the Raptor scanner. Thank you very much, keep it up.
I’m watching this for the 10th time😂
Your Creality scanner video are still by far the best.
Love your work.

Have you tried tapping thread on it? I wonder if I can tap M3 into 2.0mm hole (2mm thick wall). I'll order a test piece to do thread tapping test.
@@Payo-TensileCreator no but when I filed the part it behaved like normal stainless steel. There should no problem tapping it.
STL export is now an option in creality software.

subscribing for part 2! Very cool video.
Awesome, thank you!

Creality should have added this snap to plane function in their scanning software same as when they did in their Creality Print software.

I think you should be able to do that all in Fusion 360. But I can't say for Solidworks.
hello! do you have stl towers and cubes for scanning? I will be very grateful
I put the links in the video description.
@@Payo-TensileCreator thank you from Russia, subscribe!❤️
Do you have a link to the print files for the different markers and shapes you use. Especially your towers?
I've just added that in the description.
It would be nice to see the smallest object that the otter and raptor can scan, even smaller than the earbuds
I've made a video about it here. ruclips.net/video/1dKpAuDbMwE/видео.html Smallest for Otter is 4mm and Raptor is 2mm.
I dont understand why mine keeps losing tracking and doesnt become green no matter what..
There could be many reasons, not enough markers, not using proper reflective markers, and PC performance.

Hey Payo, What are the specs on your computer you are scanning on?
My CPU is intel i9-14900K and the GPU is Nvidia RTX 4090
where did you buy your turntable?
It's 30cm painter turn table, cost around 5 USD. Just search for "air brush turn table", you should be able to find it locally.
