  • Finally managed to get onto the new Monster SP courtesy of a good friend, a Ducatista, the legend Wayne Calver.
    This ride was a mix of town riding, B-roads and A-roads testing the Monster SP in all the typical UK road conditions and giving it a proper review against my riding experiences of the Hyper SP.
    Massive thanks to Wayne for trusting me and letting me ride his Monster SP. Wayne has both the Monster SP and Hyper SP which he will be looking to sell soon.

    Found it so fun to ride I sold my streetfighter V4S for it and now waiting delivery this month.
    The streetfighter V4S was too much for the roads I was riding it on and the fuel consumption was getting out of hand!

      @@linserr90 100%.. V4S is a great bike but its a touch scary the things it can do in an average riders hand.. whereas the Monster SP improves the average rider which brings the fun back

      @@hypermotardking exactly that, was riding way too fast everywhere.
      Now that I have a small boy at home it made me reconsider my choice.
      That first motorcycle fun was back within the first 5 minutes of the test ride and that is what's about for me.

      When the chain is just a bit to tight you get those mis shifts
      A bit a shame that you have to pay extra if you want the race termignoni

    This vs your hyper 698? I have an rve on order but am considering this as well. I ride similar to how you do if it helps for context

    • @hypermotardking
      @hypermotardking  Месяц назад +1

      This will have a bit more punch being same engine as the 950 but its alot lighter than the 950 and more nimble.. good for short people

      @JQiRamos Месяц назад

      @@hypermotardking but in terms of how it compares to your 698, would you still prefer the single cylinder vs twin?

  • @wayne_kurr

    Did the throttle feel super unresponsive/delayed? I got one as a demo bike while my Hyper 1100 SP had some work done.. couldn’t wait to give it back. Was comfy though.

    • @hypermotardking
      @hypermotardking  Год назад

      Didn’t find it delayed.. its a touch lets say tame compared to Hyper (V-twin vs L-twin) - just made everything smoother

      @wayne_kurr Год назад +1

      @@hypermotardking I was riding the non SP version so maybe it’s a little different. The throttle had a heap of play/deadband in it before anything actually happened off idle. Gave it a really cheap feeling unfortunately.

    How were the 1st 2nd gear wheelies on this thing compared to the hyper?

      Well i’m not really a wheelie person.. but with it being a bit lighter it should come up easy

    Just doesn’t seem to be a Monster without the trellis frame. Or at least the frame being distinct somehow. I’m my opinion. Other wise nice bike and would love to own one if money was no concern
