Wow I’m really impressed by that cornbread recipe. I like sweet cornbread too. I make my cornbread from scratch to avoid the “piggly wiggly” of boxes but I haven’t tried sour cream or creamed corn in it. Great video, appreciate the alternatives. I’ll let you know how it turns out when I make it.

Greetings from Florida! I love red beans. I use small red beans not kidney beans. I made my first cajun red bean recipe earlier in the week. I also made cornbread and rice. What I never knew how freaking hot the cajun sausage was. I put in a pound, 6 links. The dish was so hot I was gasping for air the first spoonful. Finally the question. How can you tell if the cajun sausage is hot or not. Duh, barring tasting it before adding. Which I will surely do from now on. The package didn't specify. What is the brand of sausage you use? Thanks! and i think the heat is hard to control in the instant pot. I only use it if im sauting onions and garlic. also the surface area is small. i have found it can sautee quicker if i just use a skillet and them dump it in.

Question, do I wait an hour 30 minutes and then crush the beans plus adding the rest of the seasonings? Or is that after 15, then I go back to pressure cooking it ?
follow all the steps, but do this. soak the beans overnight, place everything in to pot on the stove. you will probably need more water, so watch it to make sure the water level doesnt get too low. cook time will most likely be 2-2 1/2 hrs with a gentle simmer.

yes its can. im not too familiar with slow cooker times, but i think 3-4 hrs should work. but you need to add more water b/c slow cooker isnt as tightly sealed as an IP

have you used vegetarian jiffy mix? 👀 just as good as the original and no lard. sour cream in cornbread is magic👌 you will be hooked on it

i just wash it off and them add it. its smoked so technically it is already cooked.

I do mine for an hour and a half too. That 45 minutes does these beans no justice
45 minutes will have your beans like rocks haha! 1 1/2 hours is the way to go, plus you dont have to try and think about presoaking the beans.

i cook the beans for 1 1/2 hours, then i add the rest of the seasoning and crush. i dont pressure cook it again

What do mean by naturally release? Do you turn it off and leave it alone for 15 mins.
natural release means that you just leave it alone for 15 min once the time is up. then you flick the knob and the rest of the pressure will release
