Fuckin yes! add to that Portishead, Faithless, Aphex Twin, Massive Attack, Tricky, Primal Scream, James...many of the groups we have mentioned are still active now, but were enjoying their hayday in the mid-late 90s

when I was five I didn't know any music aside from my parent's massive record and CD collection. I needed something to take in for a class party, and my mum gave me this. It was the favourite- beating Girls Aloud and whatever by a long shot.
This group is a well kept secret - I discovered them on German TV when they had a show to themselves, blown away by the two drummers and the bespectacled lead singer. Tracked down the only copy left in HMV of the album ‘Electroglide in Blue’
got a deleted cassette from my local library knew nothing about it buy it blew me away, lost cassette, now all these years later found them again courtesy of the net. Thanks boys!
I don't know if any of you know, but the title of the piece is the name of the jazz drummer Gene Krup, the best in my opinion of all times, up to this Polish background. Just today I reminded son about Apollo 440, mega music.
Thanks to a Top of the Pops rerun from 19/9/1996 for reminding me about this as they used this vid to close the show and roll the credits. I had already spotted it in the chart rundown earlier in the show (or it might've been the following rerun show on the 26th that it made the charts).
New song by Matt guy krupa.... Heard it on radio 1.... I'm like I know that tune but older song. Wee search on RUclips and appollo 440..... Bring back so many memories, song must be 20 years old?

Mick Tucker's Drum Intro from 'Ballroom Blitz' (Sweet), sampled and sped up - nothing to do with Gene Krupa - was actually based on Sandy Nelson's 'Drumming up a Storm'.
It's kinda funny that the wong is about "Gene Krupa's syncopated style", but there is hardly any syncopation in the song. It's a basic "4 on the floor" beat style.
As a teenager in the 90's I loved this tune. Plus, it made me find out who Gene Krupa was. Really a gift that kept on giving...
Dito 🎉👍🏼
I've loved this ever since it came out. I'm so glad I was a 90's teen.
Same here. Best era to be a teen IMO
I was a 90's teen, but my parents decided to never let me do anything, so I never saw this until today.
Definitely!
Me too. Memories oh thy memories
hell yeah!!!
Still an amazing track in 2023!
2024*
Found this in my vinyl collection! Not played it in years and it’s still absolutely BANGS 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Byłem dzieckiem, był bodajże Sylwester w latach 90 tych, a w telewizji leciał Ten kawałek...
W młodych wilkach to leci :)
A ja mam jeszcze singla z tym utworem na płycie gdzieś...
The late nineties, it was all Apollo 440, Fatboy Slim, The Propeller Heads, Chemical Brothers and Bolshi Beats, avin it large !
+fractalign plus Underworld Orbital and Leftfield

great brother, you have style, keep it up :)
way to go!
Za każdym razem jak wjeżdżam na prom w Świnoujściu od razu przypomina mi się ten utwór z Młode Wilki 1/2
Ja czuję taki flow jak jestem na plaży w Międzyzrojach :)

Just played this for my 4 year old daughter and she is now raving round the house like she's on some mental 90s acid trip!
🤣😂
My father always played me that kind of music when I was young, now I am 21 and still like it.
Did he feed you sprouts? And what do you think of them now?
Bought the album in 1997 @ HMV. The best time of my life. Thank you Apollo 440.
Nearly thirty years later, this is still badass
Oh, twenty and something. We are parents generation now, nod grandparents yet. :-)
indeed
NO SHUT UP. IT CAME OUT LIKE FOUR-FIVE YEARS AGO.
Lata 90 piękne i zajebista muzyka
One of the best tunes from 1996 without a doubt
To jest po prostu zajebiste.
Do dziś kozacko brzmi.
Mam jeszcze na kasecie 🤘
Kupiłem przed chwilą składankę z 1996 na cd... I tu jestem. I klip jest równie niesamowity :O
Klasyka nigdy nie umiera. Pozdrawiam.
that song was on my my first original cassette bought in shop for my pocket money and played in my new sony cassette player - what a memories :)
Good boy😎

welcome to the 90's
As a tabledrummer i really liked the hands and fingers in this video
BEZ KITU ;-) !!!!
Oj było, nie co teraz
2021 żyjemy 😁😉👍
@@radzio1408 żyjemy! 4.2021 and still kick ass!
This tune never fades as the years go on. Personally this should re-released back into the UK charts.
Młode Wilki przyniosły mnie tu :-)
To w młodych wilkach było?
@@cipka666 Młode Wilki 2 bodajże koło 38 minuty filmu
1/2 leciała ta nuta na imprezie w imperium a później w samochodzie u cichego , gdy jechał z Muchą
This is like Apollo 440 doing a tribute to The Art of Noise! Always reminds me of watching the 1999 Network Q.
Not heard this for years and it just blows my mind. :)
This song told my brain that I like electronic music.
The best tune out of my childhood memories since 1996. Everytime when i was on an kirmes market or whenever i was home and get on my music tapes. ❤🎉
This band is so fcking underrated.
So true, but not in Europe
And definitely not in my personal playlist...
Underrated by whom? I really don`t care about that people;)
And this track is so overrated :D
in many ways they're over-rated but I like them stylistically leaving out the lack technical complexity in their musicianship....
apollo 440 and electro glide in blue - one of the best albums of the 90's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was and still are a metalhead, and yet I bought The CD Back then.😍
This group is a well kept secret - I discovered them on German TV when they had a show to themselves, blown away by the two drummers and the bespectacled lead singer. Tracked down the only copy left in HMV of the album ‘Electroglide in Blue’
What a great film clip
A blast from the past. Great tune.

OMFG!!!! I completely forgot how freakin awesome this tune is :) BOM BOM BOM BOM DA DA DA DA DA.....Love it :)
can't believe it's 20 years already .... time flies ._.
26 yrs ))
This is the kind of stuff which united us back then. Today everything seems so anonymous and worthless.
Młode wilki 1/2 😎
90s... crazy moment for music
Good song, I remember when it was new and was aired on W BPM tv, and finally seen live on Polandrock fest few days ago :)
best drum vibe ever
Music and video as Yin and Yang. Work of geniuses
I loved this song. I forgot this song. I found it again. 🥳
One of my favorites! I played this tune a lot!

Still got them cd singles.
Still awesome in 2020!
This is simple W-O-W, still remember when I first heard it, back i late 90's!
Dzięki temu utworowi dowiedziałem się kim był Gene Krupa 😊
Zajebisty kawałek , rok 1996, lub 1997 gdy to wyszło.
I'm 32. Glad that waited for that!
Best 90's crazy instrumental ever 8-)
I remember this being the music used in a sunkist fizzy drink ad. Saw the ad, bought the single and album
But not the drink?

Got to love the drumming on this...
Toolpusher me too.
Wouldn’t be surprised if it was lifted directly from “Ballroom Blitz” 🤔
@Jaded Old Coot, and if the The Sweet did, they lifted it from Gene Krupa. Check him out
Classic tune.
Still listening to in 2019!!!!
Mick Tucker's Drum Intro from 'Ballroom Blitz' (Sweet), sampled and sped up - nothing to do with Gene Krupa - was actually based on Sandy Nelson's 'Drumming up a Storm'.
This is ingrained in my soul!😊
Oh WOW I've never seen this! This is so good.
I can not believe it, only 30,000 people watched the video
i admire gene krupa to the fullest, and I think apollo 440 is great too. together, fantastical!
I swear to god I have been searching for this track for decades!!! I feel almost complete
dont stop this rythm

the song was used in the Australian music video show "Video hits"!
I had 50yo already I was teenage when I hear first time still listen with same emotions
Awesome video
Used to drop this at The Gardening Club and Aquarium back in't 90s
I can't figure out why i like this song.
I love this track from release, but now I get the sample from "Taxi Driver" movie. Great!
