It's great that you have addressed the issue, but just like everyone else who has done a video like this, you haven't actually taken any pictures of moving subjects. Blurry action photos are the issue, not how fast you can take pictures of still scene. I have only seen one guy take some actual photos of someone moving with all those extra features cranked up, and the results are less than impressive. He compares them to the Pixel 7 Pro and it is embarrassing how bad they are in comparison. I am a Samsung user by the way. Quality wise, I love what the S23 Ultra is producing, but what's the point of all that if you get blurry images.
It's because Samsung uses low ISO by default. You can use pro mode to crank it up, but then you lose HDR processing. If you're trying to capture a pet indoors, HDR won't matter so that's ok
@Carson H Yeah, I have to say pro mode is great for action shots. But like you said, it's at the expense of HDR and over exposure. I have an old DSLR that I tend to use shooting sports, like my kid's football matches. It would just be nice not to have to rely on pro mode (which needs setting correctly) or have to carry around a DSLR all the time. A quick point and click is what you need sometimes. Just wish Samsung could do what Google and Apple seem to nail.
Totally agreed. The default ISO is terrible. Went to the zoo with my new S23 ultra. More than half my photos are blurry. The animals are not even moving that fast. My partner old iphone xs max produce much better photos using default mode. My old note 9 has no such issue. As a Samsung fan, I am very disappointed.
Very well said all! This is a frustration of mine for years. Hardly any online reviewers ever mention this. I've been through a few phones based on these 'pro' reviews only to find that, for what I want it to do most of the time - namely take quick ckear point & shoot pics of my kids, etc - most of these high end handsets just don't do this. I had a Huawei p30 pro new edition. Its photos were fantastic. I dropped it & couldnt get another one so bought a Samsung galaxy s20 ultra based on reviews. Photos were dire. Blurry images 80-90% of the time. Sold it & bought a galaxy s21 ultra. It was just as bad. Images were terrible & mostly unusable. Both great phones & rotten photos. Sold it. Bought an Oppo find x2 pro. Great photos - handled moving objects great, but battery life was shocking. Sold it & upgraded to find x3 pro. Again, handled moving images fantastic but rest of camera was nothing special & again battery was dire. Sold it & bought the find x5 pro. Finally found a decent mid point - battery is decent, camera takes really decent images of moving objects, fast & nice screen. Unfortunately the zoom is utterly useless which is so disappointing.
The foreground quality in the pics seems to be the same. The noticeable difference is the background quality and the HDR quality is noticeable on the clouds. I still like the ability to speed up the shutter, the preset setting lag is bad.
I saw comparisons on xda forum. And the quality difference was massive. Speed priority is not worth it. Although changing quick tap shutter is big one 👍
It's faster but the photos suffer. Iphones take fast photos, but honestly, the pictures aren't that great. I'd rather have a better photo than speed. Quality takes a big hit. People bitch about everything.
Okay, so this vid was about shutter lag, but the result is showing "standing still" pictures. C'mon, this problem is since Galaxy s7......say hello to blurred sammy
I fixed mine by turning night shot off it was the little half moon that was lit up click it and turn it off and that got rid of the one second delay when I take pictures
This is not working for me. I'm so frustrated. I have flash on and the shutter literally goes off after the flash is done. Randomly the shutter will go off in unison. But you can imagine I want to throw this phone out because it's brand new and this is UNACCEPTABLE!! I rebooted my phone and they were in unison once. Then it goes back to slow shutter. Grrrr..
It's funny to me that people recommend camera assistant when in your video and others you're showing it's crappy rating and reviews. Then I can't find it on the Galaxy store which seems to be an issue for some others. Plus the fact that I need to get a subpar third party app to fix an issue that many people think shouldnt be one in the first place is disconcerting. If that's the only solution offered, it's not much of one.
So what's the difference between doing this and doing Burst Shot which takes more pictures faster and with better quality since you aren't moving the camera everywhere by rapidly pressing the shutter button?
Burst shot is usually lower resolution and more compressed, resulting in lower quality - though I don't know how different it would be from this speed priority settings, would be a good comparison to make.
Thanks for this man, same as with you, didn't notice the pics difference between shutter speed vs qlty, at least not on the phone screen. Can you pls share your background picture? It's gorgeous
Cheers so much for trying but some people saying it didn’t make a difference! I got serious lag on video that I want to get rid of! Any suggestions please? I have the camera assistant app
Thanks for the comparison! So many people assumed that the quality drop was horrible when they saw it would decrease the quality of the photo without even testing! This is actually not bad at all!
if you can't notice the difference then why the hell you buy a new phone? the fact you seem to do a camera video without even noticing the difference or knowing whats going on, then you aren't a photo person..

@@dougiemiller5030 so you prefer the Pocophone to the S23 that costs 2 or 3 times more?

I just downloaded the assistant. Quick tap is available but priority speed or quality is not. No capture speed is available.
the Camera assistant app dosent appear for me in the galaxy store, i dont know why

iPhone still takes better photos with faster shutter speed.
You didn't even compare photos of moving objects with changed setting ??!
Okay, so this vid was about shutter lag, but the result is showing "standing still" pictures. C'mon, this problem is since Galaxy s7......say hello to blurred sammy
I tried setting the "quality" on my S23 Ultra to optimize speed but the image sharpness dropped noticeably. I am changing it back.
Thanks for sharing your findings

This video is pointless, you said moving kids, show us moving subjects not a book ffs
If your kids are moving, video then instead

There is no capture speed option
x2
Still not supported camera assistant in my a53 5g
My s23ultra doesnt have capture speeddd
Doesn't work on S20 with OneUI 5.0, but does work on Z Flip 4 with 5.1.
I like the faster shutter speed but I will keep quality prioritized on over speed. Thank you so much for the great tip.

Or... just use the burst feature.
Hi, could you please share the link to this app ? I cannot find it in Galaxy Store. thanks !
Unfortunately some apps are not available worldwide
It's a module inside Goodlock
It is not shutter lag....it is how samsung takes image with bracketing that is slow... the software is at fault here...i think it is not fixable...
.
Anyway of changing the front facing camera, took my first video at FHD with it and it lacks detail and looks over saturated.

Cheers so much for trying but some people saying it didn’t make a difference! I got serious lag on video that I want to get rid of! Any suggestions please? I have the camera assistant app
There is burst shoot already avaiable in normal camera, any different quality from rhis app?
this is no fix.... is a massiv downgrade.
If u tell me you dont see any difference than you need to see a dr. ASAP
I'll schedule an apt right away
Using camera assistant I found it is not worth the quality, normal photo and assistant photo seems a lot of difference
My camera assistant apk not open 😢
Great deserves a comment
Does it work with s21 ultra i just installed but i am not seeing much difference
The shutter lag is a problem with the s23 lineup, im not sure that the s21 had this problem
that app is no longer available??

Yea, I was skeptical at first too but after shooting some samples, it really isn't a big deal at all
