- In this episode, we've got something a little different. A few months ago we headed down to the Rise Climbing Project to reset their training board. In this video, you'll get to see some of the processes that Jim and Aidan go through when setting a board for training on, as well as a session on some beefy boulders.
Featuring:

i always love the vids where Jim and Aidan just do hard board climing and vibe together. thanks!
Glad you liked it!
I've got a sneaky suspicion some of those grades might be a bit stiff 😅
😅 I think there a high likelihood you're right...
Both Aiden and Jim have set blocs at my local gym. Jim set bangers, solid fun blocs with great movement - obvs some were nails and way beyond my ability - Aidan’s were cryptic technical masterpieces - like a vision of another movement dimension. Strap on your rocket boots and levitate.
yep the V4 looks like a V7 but aight 😅
I work at this Gym and I can confirm they are all absolutely nails haha
This was rad! You guys should make a video of Jim and Aiden doing a Moonboard sesh
What this needs is the inclusion of an average punter as a reference point 😅
Imagine training on a board set by these two. I would either get very strong or not get a single move done 😅
😅
I’ve heard this Board is pretty shit, makes sense considering it’s just a collection of boulders and it’s very sparse
@@Matt-qm1th every bouldering gym in the world is "just a collection of boulders".
@@Matt-qm1th Imagine, a board just with a collection of boulders. The horror!!
I love the board vids
Glad you enjoy them 😁
I have been waiting for a new board climbing video from you guys. This is nice!
Hope it was worth the wait!
Yessir that’s what I‘ve been waiting for!
Very interesting to see ,,spray walls“ with set boulders like that, really cool!
So good! Love the board climbing vids. Aidan and Jim seem like genuinely nice dudes, too, which helps.
Thanks!
watching you guys keeps me motivated to train every day!
Great climbers like you inspire me a Lot, thanks 🔥
Good to see Aidan rocking the old-style Instinct SR 😎
They're not even that old!! The old instinct S is what we need!!! haha
@@padhraicmacmaghnuis1793 good to hear they still have a fanbase 😅
@@ukclimbingofficial haha. I loved those shoes. Was so sad when they went off the market.
@@padhraicmacmaghnuis1793 there is a new version that is practically the same
@@LSDerek are they though?????? Hehe.
I've been afraid to try them since they changed the toe box slightly on the SR from the S and from photos the new S looks like it has the same toe box as the SR.
Solid video as always Sam, I appreciate the content
Cheers Dan, glad you enjoyed!
what Jim said is exactly what I do in my climbing shed. Set hard boulders and work though 1 or 2 a session and then try to get to a point where you can do all of them or flash most in one set.
Love board sessions! Awesome video as always!
Thanks!
Phenomenal video! Love the teamwork setting and thought process
Thanks!
Aidan at 6:35 "I'll make it as easy as i can but it's never gonna be that easy.. but that's not my fault" From a guy who warms up on 8a problems , dude doesn't even remember what a 6a-6c looks like😂
8A...6A...Same thing 😅
💪💪 Alphane send footage: When? 😁
Not sure when yet, but hopefully in the not too distant future 👍💪
@@WEDGECLIMBING Can't wait!
@@M0dElite i'm checking every day both on ig and yt to see when they release it man... haha can't wait too
Waited so long for this, did not disapoint!! Good film m8
Cheers!
inspirering stuff!
Brilliant..I was on a circuit board today, trying to link V8 moves together (with the accent on trying). This has inspired me to go back and just try harder!! Thanks guys.
You're welcome, go get it done!
You guys are awesome, salute from HOLLAND.
Thanks!
So good!
Thanks!
Jims 8A looks quite fun
Pretty varied movement for a board 👌
I was gonna post the same! I love the roll/pop out of the slopey pinches.
aidan is ridiculously strong, video is a banger
Thanks!
really good choice of music for that one!
Thanks!
Another fantastic video!!
Thanks!
10:48 epic snort of triumph
love it
Thanks!
Come and re-do the board at Yonder please lads!
definitely more really nice video
Thanks!
gnarly
💪💪
I have seen normal humans die training on this board.(My local gym)
What’s stronger? Jim? Or Jim’s jumper game?
Knitwear wins every time
The big boys!
Big rigs on big things 💪
Maybe it has been mentioned but do Aidan and Jim do non-climbing workouts? Wondering what kind of finger boarding / strength training routines they might be on, both have incredible physique.
They both do lost of conditioning exercises, but I don't know the specifics
Bro his back
Sick video !! what is the music when they are climbing though ??
8:48 in the video
Thanks! It's: Nbdy Nprtnt - Broken
Violet crimps at 13:30 look so good. Does anyone know what company produces them?
Lmaoooo slight dig at Instagram 😂
High. Angle. Crimps. . . . Nuff said
Damn that was awesome. Consider me subscribed!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed
How is a "hard boulder" defined? It seems pretty relative, but maybe there is a standard. Maybe 8a and up? Or v10 and up?
Well it’s obviously very subjective
Someone needs to tell Jim it's forbidden to bump to the top hold.. no send on the black V8 I'm afraid :'(
11:01 where does jim say he used to climb in london? Stove board? Stive?
He says 'This style of board'
Fk yeahhh
When will we be able to buy wedge merch!!!!! :-)
Hopefully soon! 💪💪
Considering that Aiden flashes most of these grades I’m suspect haha
Aiden sometimes wears this black wrist band - is it for stability? Does someone know which band it is?
It's called a wrist widget. He injured his TFCC a couple of years ago and sometimes wears it for support 👍
@@WEDGECLIMBING oh. Hope his wrist is fine now. Looks cool though! =P
Beast climbing as usual but I have disagree with them saying there's more to board climbing than people give it credit for. The majority of all those climbs were just left/right crimps lol. It's actually surprising they don't get bored climbing such plain problems but I guess it's about strength and training for outdoors primarily.
When the holds are bad enough even going left right left right can require subtlety
I guess Aidan is more meaning the subtlety of the body tension and often the coordination required to catch holds even on what seem to be pretty simple movements.
