    No mention of your countrymen? Odd. I'd have thought Roche's fall from grace would have been perfect for this. BTW Simpson was World Champion in 65 not British Champion. He also wore the Maillot Jaune in 62. Details.

      @RollinRat In all of the 3 channels he sucks at Portuguese an Spanish names, so I doubt he is of Spanish descent. Unless he is playing 4D chess and went with Irish and British accents sucking at Spanish just to throw us off.

      @RollinRat here are some objective retorts (keep in mind i am more of a Kierkegaard person that believes in subjective truth but hold that for now). 1. Regarding the best athlete: Human physical performance is maximized on appropriate drugs. 2. About drugs only used for 'sick' people: Sick people (me most the time) highly benefit from drugs 100% but so do well people.. its just a simple fact.

      every single sport has a history of drugs so what's even your point? why do you guys try to demonize cycling when in reality pro cyclist are taking far less drugs than most other athletes.

    Cancellara was allready outstanding as a junior and as an amateur - like Wout van Art today. His performances were a logic progress, he did not emerge suddenly out of nowhere like others.

      my main concern with cancellara was his cadence at the olympic tt in brasil. way beyond what i'd seen previously and even when compared to froome...

      Doping is an embarrassing subject for Liggett due to his enthusiastic support for Armstrong.....he very rarely, if ever, brings up that subject.

    Brilliant summary of the 30 year span of those we know were on the juice and those who flew just below the radar (Hinault/Greg/Fabian) low cost Lance against the white Kenyan ...now that would have been a race.

      While there have been rumours about Hinault (refused test) & Cancellara (Ceccini & motors), Lemond hasn't registered a single allegation. Armstrong offered substantial reward for it and got nothing. No team mate has come forward on or off the record in the 28 years since his retirement either. I wonder why?

      Even if he did he certainly didn’t use EPO, Fignon in his autobiography stated drug taking in the 80’s was never at the same level as Armstrong’s era, night and day.

      @@ultimobici. I haven't heard anyone say anything about Indurain, other than his said association with a certain Italian doctor. His physiology was amazing though (HR of 28bpm @rest).

    Was Miguel a doper? He was before my time. I would say that him being a large man and still winning the yellow jersey isn't great for him but I haven't heard the rumors about him as much.

      It's the old saying "if it's too good to be true then it usually is" you do the maths..the years of epocha...91-99...every one on it except Mig..1999- 2012...every one on it except Lance....you work it out?

      @@marcusmaher-triskellionfil5158 oh that's how I was one of the only Americans calling Lance a doper in 04 and who never bought a live strong bracelet. I knew you didn't beat everyone who is on dope if you're not doping yourself. Plus I heard the stories of Lances staff driving hundreds of kilometers to throw away dirty needles in public trash cans. Like I said I figured Miguel was but I'm not as informed I was about Lances run.

      I lost some friends when in 2001, I said Lance was dropped to the gills. Of course I got the last laugh. One of my good friends is friends with Andy Hampstead. One night a bunch of us were at dinner. Someone asked Andy what he thought of Lance? All Andy said " He's a fucking Texan. "

    Greg was not clean! In 91 he lost only 8 seconds in flat 73km TT against Indurain. He is such a baby blaming everyone for something he also clearly did
