    He is playing a Gibson 165. I have the same instrument and I never see anyone play that axe. Great tone.

    As an old guitar player I can't believe I've never heard this guy before. Especially as his playing is so sweet. Thanks.
    Not that the other guys aren't playing beautifully too. All around class, basically. 👍

    @jcfiallos ES 150DC to be exact...A fully hollow 335/355 style guitar with a 3" depth like an ES 175. Great guitars and hard to come by

    he played in Helsinki,Finland today(24-july-2012).we went up to the stage when he finished and spoke to him.he is such a down to earth person.I told him I liked his music and enjoyed his performance of his song 'circles'.he advised me to order his music from crisscross records or I-tunes

    Great piece and performance from all three. The audience forgot to clap for the sax solo, but I'm sure it was just one of those confused moments. The sax player certainly deserved applause 👏

    • @tomstage4906
      @tomstage4906 Год назад

      Just an FYI: Although somewhat similar in sound as a sax, it's actually a bass clarinet. Never seen one used in a jazz combo performance before. I liked it!

      @@tomstage4906 Ah, thanks for clearing that up. Incidentally, I saw several bass clarinets being played by the Reykjavík Big Band this past Sunday in a piece by Hafdís Bjarnadóttir. The conductor mentioned that it was probably some sort of record, at least in Iceland.

    they can be had for around 2000 usd... not many were made, but the 70's kind of narrowish 40 mm nut makes them a bit cheaper than say es175's... they came in walnut, blonde and red.

    • @Mortison77577
      @Mortison77577 8 лет назад

      +CoolEditz What do you mean? Beyond your ability to play or understand it in terms of music theory? It seems a little tough to latch onto rhythmically and melodically.

    • @CoolEditz
      @CoolEditz 8 лет назад +2

      +Ester Samuels All of the above. I have studied music for years and have a good understanding of theory, chord movement, and syncopation. This is way above me though. I give a lot of credit to the guys who really take it to the next level.

    • @kozegwaard2264
      @kozegwaard2264 7 лет назад

      CoolEditz Do you mean to say that it doesnt move in the direction you would expect it to go? Thats how I would describe my lack of comprehension.
      Making unpredictable turns while still making a listenable song is what these guys excel in.

    •  4 года назад

      I hear that! This is some deep sh*t.... The GOOD sh*t!!!!

      This timing also bewildered me. I wrote to Jessie and he kindly answered me. Listen to his intro. The chords that are emphasised are on the 2nd beat of the bar. It's simply in 4/4 but they emphasise the 2nd beat all the way through the song. It still does my head in.....that they can freely improvise with that groove. I find it easier to play in odd times than to do what they are doing with common time. I wish he would write more music. Such a talent.

    Who want`s to sound like kurt Rosenwinkel. Listen to Mike Moreno, Peter Bernstein, Pat Metheny, David Gilmore, This is Just a few of them who sound a lot better.
