Jerome shows that you can still have a mostly stoic Spartan with personality. "Modern" writers have no TALENT for writing characters with subtlety or nuance
Stoic? It’s a video game. Are you really talking about stoic when this isn’t a real person you’re watching? Are you really talking about personality when Cheif is having an identity crisis understanding where he came from compared to a video game that’s on a mission?
Jerome's character is further proof that with good writing, you do not need to have Spartans show their face often to get their emotions across. He at first adresses Isabelle in a military fashion, but later becomes less formal with her; despite her being an AI, he does not treat her as a mere tool.

Personally I think that no sheilding would be the best, because it's badass and it really sets up the master cheif vs atriox conflict (maybe not anymore after cheif got rekt), 3 spartan IIs with outdated armour and no sheilding can't beat atriox, but what about the Spartan II with the best suit yet?

Halo infinite shoulda been just like Halo Wars 2 but first person and on the slipspace engine.
The HW2 Banished artstyle is so good. It’s really brutal and scrappy, which makes sense because they’re basically a pirate faction run by clever monkeys. In Infinite, though, the vehicles are just red Covenant vehicles and the structures are just red UNSC structures. It doesn’t look good.

I mean, the simple solution would have been to make a Halo adaptation and not a Mass Effect adaptation. Or, skin the show like Mass Effect, call it Mass Effect, and watch the money rake in.
This game has too much potential to be used as an RTS alone. There should have been an FPS installment of this and he would have been loved as much as John or Noble team.

“No talent” are you some sort of Talent expert? Not sure who you think you are
Jerome's character is further proof that with good writing, you do not need to have Spartans show their face often to get their emotions across.
He at first adresses Isabelle in a military fashion, but later becomes less formal with her; despite her being an AI, he does not treat her as a mere tool.

On the other hand Halo infinite and Halo 5 really felt limited by the teen rating, Halo Wars 2 even without gore or anything had more maturity and serious language.

Pretty sure that they're not actually any weaker than any other S-II. I don't know where people get that information, but there's never been a source. They are washouts that got rehabilitated, but why does that mean they're weaker?
That opening cutscene forever legendary axtriox just destroys 3 Spartan 2’s like nun
I loved the halo wars cinematic crazy they could do this easily for games but not the show I mean the shows good but damn who ever designed this they better be getting payed as they should BIG MONEY
I love in HW2 and H2A how Blur Studios created on-screen cinematics with Spartan's fighting at speed and moving and not make it look corny and god awfully headache inducing.
How 343i's TV Paramount production did it was absolutely fucking nauseating!
I would love to see a series about Isabel and Jerome it would be different yet so familiar
I'd love to see just a full show/series or even multiple movies of content just like this, i wish more games did this, so many good cinematics that we basically get a full movie with just the cutscenes.
if they wanted a spartan with more human aspects (besides humanising chief slowly through the games which is more than fine)
they shouldve gone with jerome, entertaining enough for a general audience but still in line with the stoic badassery the halo fans want to see. Also means less fans are offended by so many innacuracies as there is less media with jerome as the focus.
Exactly, it's like how they did The Mandalorian, same universe and timeline, just a new pocket of it with mostly new characters and shocker! It worked really well. The Halo games and books have proved you don't need Master Chief to be Halo, just needs compelling characters and fights, and have a gritty dark atmosphere with some humor and hope dashed in to combat the oppressive atmosphere
Yeah, literally chose Chief known for being one of the most stoic Spartans simply because of name brand recognition. So stupid.
I really hope they red and blue team reunited. Maybe as a dlc or an animated movie.
tv series master chief isn't master chief.
He is thats his name you obviously haven’t watched the show. Or are you trying to say he’s not a created video game character. No he isn’t which is clear and obvious he’s not a video game
@@TheTruth-13 well he isn't canon masterchief so i think he identifies as master cheeks
Once again kudos for Blur with these cutscenes, they have the art style and feel of Halo down.
The halo show was literally made to make money they assumed by making it semi halo they’d draw in an easy and big early crowd and then slowly build a normal audience with the typical TV drama type shit on top of that to support the show/platform
It’s pretty obvious they don’t give a shit about Halo. The creators even said they didn’t read any of the books or play any of the games when making the show, which they were making based on said books and games. fucking hilarious
I would pay so much for a show that's either band of brothers esque with a group of Spartan 2s or ODSTs. Or one where it's just about Red Team. I also love the fact that when Jerome jumps off the Warthog, the camera shakes almost as much as when they drop in the Tank. Goes to show how heavy Spartan 2s are. Real game changers of any fight to be honest.
literally just anything that stays true to halo
@@celestialgaming117 For real. 343 and Paramount were handed the keys to one of, if not the most expansive intellectual properties in gaming, and they threw them off a bridge. It really is a shame because the devs and writers for 343 aren't bad, Halo Wars 2 is proof. I'm pretty sure it all comes down to the execs and management.
This 4 minutes has a 100% of action and common sense and 0% of bullshit, not like "HALO: The Series". XD , ..
Spartans jumping from orbit will NEVER get old
wouldn't spartan Jerome have around the same experience with fighting the covenant compared to master chief? They're both spartan II's so even if Jerome was the main character for the TV show instead, he'd still have even harder time compared to when Halo wars 2 takes place (2559~). Based on my minimal thinking skills, doesn't the TV show take place around the time when reach fell too? I know, I know, a lot of questions... and probably very biased in the way to think, I'm also probably very wrong. If you want to murder me with words and point out every inconsistency I have said go ahead, I would like to know your opinion so i can learn a bit more.
Jerome has less experience yes but Ithink the way jerome sees it because elites are part of the banished there wasn't much difference to fighting them upfront since hes used to seeing them in the covenant plus jerome seems quick enough to change his fighting style when he first fights the brutes
Halo Wars 1 take place at the beginning of the war, and Red Team graduated late from the Spartan program, so by the time of HW1 they had less experience then the Chief would have, but not by much. After HW1, Red Team goes in cryo for 30ish years until HW2, so Jerome would have less experience than the Master Chief, but considering that they’re both Spartans it doesn’t make much of a difference.
@@filwilliamson9149 true only thing is the banished are tougher to deal with
Master Chief has more simply because Jerome has been in cryo for years while Chief was fighting the covenant.
Ever since Halo Wars 2 came out I’ve always been ok with the idea of Jerome and Isabel being the new Chief and Cortana after that story ends
We can all admit the show could be better in general 😆
What's hilarious is people actually think 343 made this.😂
Any in game spartan is a better master chief than tv show chief, even Locke
I wouldn't mind a spinoff game about Jerome and Isabel.
I know there's like a 0% chance of this ever happening, but if they ever want to send Chief out with a bang in the games, Jerome would be a great character to continue the series with.
I think they are considering, because Jerome is mostly liked by the fans. But not sure how Chief will go out like retiring etc...
Personally, I would've loved a limited series about Jerome and Red team during the early days of the Human Covenant War
Just watched the show. 5 episodes. And i went in KNOWING its NOT cannon, and its better than i thought
It just blows my mind what source material they had, and that's how the show turned out...
This is literally exactly how the master chief in the show acts. I think people just want to see things explode more and express it in the form of negativity
yeah the joke about the nuts was so much master chief
@@davidarturovazquezchan632 oh no, it's not exactly like the versions we've already seen oh great heavens
@@davidarturovazquezchan632 he literally speaks as much as this spartan he handles action like this spartan and is caring like this spartan. But let's get obtuse
@@somebodyelse522 bruh wdym TV show chief is a joke compared to pretty much every other depiction of a Spartan II that i've ever seen
How many times does Master cheeks go rahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh?
Man, if Jerome would come as a dlc characters or even be the new master chief, would be really glad.
At least 343 did got right build this character, honestly most part of halo wars 2 as a hole.
Agree the tv series suck!!!
The tv series not your life
@@TheTruth-13 ... OPINIONS DUMBASS
@@TheTruth-13 haha like those guys really care for you! No need to defend them, speak for yourself!
Jerome is by far my Favorite Spartan, He went through hell with his augmentation worse then the other 2's and still managed to be one of the top teir Spartan 2's and the rest of Red Team had the same shitting augmentation progress yet they still are absolute beast's
I think Blur studios just needs to make a Halo animated movie at this point. Hell, adapt Halo: The Flood (novelization of Halo Combat Evolved)!
HOOK IT UP TO MY VEINS!!!!
ive always really liked the scene when he enters the teleporter room, really fun scene and how it was made.
When the Covenant high council watched the first episode of the show: "it was heresy!"
Honestly, I would've rather seen the Jerome-Isabel team up instead of what we got. "The Weapon" just felt like a poor attempt to keep Cortana in the mix while stepping over the lore behind AI Rampancy.
I kinda wish they didn’t cast Master Chief as the protagonist in Halo Tv Show. I love Master Chief but sometimes having a different perspective is nice
