    I don't understand why all the negative comments on this tutorial, it is very clear and concise, the only knock against it I have is the terrible music. ;)
    If you are having trouble, make sure you are following the tutorial exactly and patiently, one step at a time. Make sure your hands are holding the gimbal in the exact way as the actor in the tutorial while you balance the different areas of the gimbal, make sure you are adjusting the proper adjustment point, and use VERY tiny changes as you zero in on perfect balance. I am by no means a gimbal expert, if I can do it so can you, just take your time and once you've done it once you'll wonder why it was ever so difficult.

    Hey Emilush and all the others with the same roll-axis problem. I had the same problem but I found the solution !! Before adjusting the roll axis, make sure that you slide the mounted camera to the right (when looking from behind the cam). Therefor unlock the whole "mounting-slide?" (the mobile part where your mounting plate and your camera is sits on) and slide it as far as possible to the right (without touching between camera grip and gimbal) Then lock the screw. AFTER that, adjust the roll axis in the usual way. Now it should work and stay still at 45 degree. Hope it helped. Bye : )

    Just got my Ronin today - and have to admit the balancing was pretty confusing. Took me a good 30 minutes to get it probably 95‰ balanced (no matter how small an adjustment I'd make, it wouldn't go 100% level, though it did keep still). But I did get it working eventually.
    Despite what most people are commenting, this was the video I was needing (but didn't show up in my searches and all others I found were of no help). At least showing what order and positions to test it. So I will reference this if I need help for the second time I try balancing it if I have problems.
    I am slightly annoyed though it says it's compatible with the Canon 5D 3 - yet none of the cables fit it. Luckily the IR one works. Hopefully the adapter I've ordered for the mini USB will allow the focus to work too.
    Looking forward to using it though.

    This tutorial is paced way too fast. I'm a new Ronin S owner and I've had to start and pause this video every 3 seconds, rewinding frequently to see what I'm supposed to do. Please don't forget that the purpose of this video is for beginners to learn! We need more angles and a much slower pace.

    PAN RE-BALANCE ISSUES READ THIS POST!!! Soooo...I run the balance test on the app (10th time is the charm right?): Tilt: Excellent, Roll: Excellent, Pan RE-BALANCE NEEDED. So I decide after watching about 5 of these videos that I can't be that dense. So, as with all things new and technical, I decide to do the firmware update. BOOM! problem solved!!! Excellent now appears for all three. Ah...I'm not an idiot ...the app told me so! Please save yourself some frustration and do the firmware update FIRST. I'm not sure why not a single video mentions this but that's all it took! I hope this helps at least one other person.

    I'm finding it impossible to balance a Canon C200 with monitor and 24-105 lens on the Ronin-S. The closest I've gotten is making the camera level, but if I were to touch it at all before turning on the gimbal, the camera would swing downward or backward.

    • @DJISupportGlobal
      @DJISupportGlobal  6 лет назад +2

      Sorry to know that you have trouble balancing the Ronin-S, Samit. The roll axis may fail to be locked in the right position due to the weight of the camera, you can try to lift the axis a little bit while making an adjustment, please refer to the video at 1:44. Meanwhile, the power of motor is strong, it will not affect the gimbal performance after the Auto Tune.
      If it didn't work, please kindly provide us with an operating video, upload to RUclips or Dropbox so we can help to confirm. Thank you.

      I have this "issue" too - or is it an issue? What I did notice was that the manual specifically states to check the tilt and pan axis by rotating those 45 degrees and seeing if they stay in place (which mine does). The manual does NOT state to check the roll axis by rotating 45 degrees, but this video says to do it, so the manual and video conflict in this area. When I do go 45 deg on the roll axis it always returns to horizontal, which actually makes sense - if I adjust it either way it goes heavy to one side. So hopefully someone can verify if the 45 degree check is indeed mandatory on the roll axis, and if it is, how do I correctly balance it?

      Sorry, but this is a very bad comment. The reason everything is black is to create a professional standard in production, nothing flashy taking away your attention and making you think of anything else other than the full intent of the content. Annoying Music? Music is purely subjective so your opinion on that doesn't matter. And as previously mentioned, maybe Gimbals aren't for you if you find this easy tutorial complicated.

    I recently purchased the Ronin S a week ago, I've been able to completely balance my Ronin S. The problem I'm experiencing is the stiffness when making adjustments to the axis's. It is EXTREMELY TIGHT / STIFF, I don't want to apply force but I don't know what else to do. Especially when I'm adjusting the Tilt Axis, it's to the point were it's rubbing against the metal and it's noticeable. I LOVE the Ronin S, is it something that I'm doing wrong that made it so stiff? Again, I was able to get it balanced, it was very tedious with all the stiffness. I took it to B&H to have one of their Gimbals specialist look at it because I thought I was going crazy. The specialist was actually showing one to the couple in front of me, I didn't see any stiffness while she was balancing the Ronin. I assembled mine and gave it to the specialist, she grabs one of their display cameras (model I have - 7D mkii) and she starts to balance it and she's having a hard time because it's so stiff. Once she got it balanced, it worked perfectly. Same with me, worked just fine once balanced. The specialist told me to return it & have DJI send me a new one. Gonna contact DJI tomorrow, kinda sucks because I have work scheduled were I need this, hence the reason I bought it.

    Hi, I'm having trouble balancing my Panasonic G7 (equipped with a 14-140mm lens) as it is shown in this video. Is it because the camera is too light? I know it is lighter than the GH4 & GH5, and I'm wondering if it is possible to balance it. Any help/answer would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

    • @DJISupportGlobal
      @DJISupportGlobal  6 лет назад

      Hi Maikeru, if the camera is within 3.6KG, the width and height do not exceed 205 and 150mm, it can be balanced on the Ronin-S. May we know the specific issue that you encountered? If it is convenient, you can provide me with an operating video to us for a better confirmation. Thanks.

      Sorry to know that you have troubles on balancing the Ronin-S, Fernando. It is because of the camera weight which causes the roll axis may fail to be locked in the right position, you can try to lift the axis a little bit while making an adjustment, please refer to the tutorial at 1:44. At the same time, the power of motor is strong, it will not affect the gimbal performance after the Auto Tune. See if it helps.

    Can ANYONE tell me how to make the Ronin-S shoot in portrait/up-and-down mode for social media? (And I don't mean selfie mode, where the camera faces back toward you.) I have been trying to troubleshoot, update all the firmware according to DJI Support, and just messing with the settings myself. A friend of mine simply pushes the M button twice and his automatically aligns to portrait mode and stabilizes... mine does NOT. So far, the DJI support team hasn't been helpful. I just got this expensive device and cannot even use it. Can anyone help? All of the support videos and forums are outdated.

      I found the manual on their website. Nice site and there are a lot of tutorials on RUclips. Mine is coming today from B&H. Using it on a GH5 and have several lens…Panasonics and Olympus branded from light to heavier. This unit seems to be one of…if not…the best unit available. Have not read many reviews where major problems were a concern and most recent reviews are really favorable. Also seening that the company responds to posts on this page says a lot.

  •  6 лет назад

    Hi, can someone help me please? I am trying to balance my Ronin-S and I get through all of the steps successfully except the last one (the one from 2:00 to 2:20 ). I've been trying to balance it for the past hour, by moving it millimeter by millimeter and it still rolls like crazy when I tilt the Ronin. I can not get it to stay still like you do it on 2:17 in this video. What am I doing wrong? 😩

    • @DJISupportGlobal
      @DJISupportGlobal  6 лет назад

      Hi Enisa, just to verify, did you balance it by the order as the tutorial shows? If yes, would you please provide us with your balancing video for us for a further confirmation? You can upload to Dropbox and paste the link here, thank you.

    •  6 лет назад

      Hi, thank you for taking time to reply. I followed the balancing steps in the same order as your tutorial shows, and all was fine and looking the same as you show until the last step. Whenever I would tilt the Ronin, it wouldn't stay like your in 2:17. I used Canon 6D and an old Canon lens 80-200mm USM. I don't have a video at the moment unfortunately.
      Today I tried this setup: Canon 80D and Canon 18-135mm IS STM lens. This time, I couldn't balance the roll axis properly. It just can't stay still in 45 degrees on any side - left or right. I tried many times by readjusting everything, but it didn't work. Even though this step didn't work, I continued with the last balancing step (pan axis) and after a while I got it to be decently balanced but it wasn't perfect like you show in 2:17, it had some moves on both sides (left/right). With this said, I took the Ronin on a test shoot anyway and it seems to me the performance was fine.
      Anyway, I have different gear and would like to learn how to perfectly balance all the combinations of cameras and lenses. So, I will definitely get back to you in the next few days, with video examples to help me out.
      Best regards,
      Enisa

      As for the Roll axis balance issue, please try to adjust the pan axis, or try to flip the roll axis to backward then tighten the knob. As for the Pan axis, if the issue reappears, you can try to check which direction will the camera tilt when putting the Ronin-S sideways, if it tilts to the right, please pull the Pan axis forwarded, and vice versa. Or we can confirm it when you provide the video. Thank you.

    Garbage product, incomplete tutorial. The pan axis cannot be balanced and there is nothing offered by the manufacturer that demonstrates actually how to do it. This tutorial only hints at how to balance the pan axis without detailed analysis of specific adjustments to be made depending on the camera's movement during balancing. Ronin-S is a waste of money. Don't buy it.
