I just hope everyone who's there puts out as much content about aptera as possible/ posts pictures/ videos/ comments articles/ videos etc. - thanks for your work Steve!
Wow, 820 kg of lightness and 0.13 Cd, while most everyone is complaining about how heavy the electric vehicles are. This shows the way. Hope Aptera makes it.
I reserved mine in Jan 2021. I was 69 years old. Do the math. If I don't get mine before I die of old age, I hope they at least put the Aptera logo in my tombstone. And the epitaph, "He Died Waiting". And I want to be buried in my Aptera T-shirt.
Steve and Thomas, great input, agree 100% and thanks for not sugar coating the information on the binc and chassis. Thank you, and thanks AOC Steve for the coverage and discussion. Interesting that their exhibit is right next to Continental, the former parent company of Vitesco. Curious to hear about any drivetrain exhibition from Continental or Vitesco if you happen to find anything interesting. Cheers from Wisconsin!
Sry we didn't actually meet Steve-u a busy man! But I got to see you in the flesh, just like Steve F and Chris A, Chris M, and so many more I only knew thru the web. THAT and seeing the vehicle, even SITTING in it, both driver and passenger sides, made my day already.
The under air scoop is going to kill the aero. And snow? Forget it. What were they thinking? Why didn't they put the intake at the cowl area like originally planned?
Hopefully they change this giioven that the vehicle is only 6 inches off the ground. Maybe the AWD version will be higher off the ground, but it would have to be pretty high off the ground to avoid snow
What's the concern? Clogging the scoop and preventing airflow over the radiators? EVs have trouble generating and retaining heat during the winter, so if the snow blocks some of it off I wouldn't worry that much. Trapping water in it could be a concern due to its shape.
@chrisrudzinski6241 Good point, in which case perhaps a cover for the air scoop is something that should be provided to prevent cool air and snow from entering
Ouch. That is a lot for a "second vehicle" in most households. I think that will be the death knell of the company. At $20k, buying one is a no brainer for most commuters. At $30k, they would still have a good market base. At $40k, it won't sell enough to make the company viable.
For the launch edition? Given that it will have a bunch of extras on it, is just fwd and is meant to be super efficient vs. a hot rod, I think this is perfectly acceptable, but definitely off the mark from what everyone has been saying.
@@danam0228I priced out my model with AWD and off road extra and it was $45K. Just a few months ago the price was $34K. So they added 10K on to the price of the vehicle. I can buy a Tesla for this price.
@danam0228 Curious what you mean by "bunch of extras" only difference between them and the other production models will be serialized imprints and plaques. Vehicle auction history has shown that only one of those consistently increase value and that would be serial #1.
I’m 6’-5” and sat in it this morning at CES. Headroom is fine for me with the seat back tilted a bit back. The seat rails under the seat on PI-4 are not the longer ones intended for production yet, so the legroom is only just adequate for me currently. However, I’ve sat in Gamma and it had a huge amount of legroom. So much that I had to slide the seat forward a little to get the distance to the pedals to my liking. That was a unique experience for me - no vehicle I’ve ever been in beforehand had too much legroom!
@@jasonhochstrasser8657 Thanks in advance. Maybe follow up with them on what @kevinjensen9803 said, try to determine if production vehicle leg room will be more like what it was in gamma
About funding, maybe they say that only Tesla is making a profit. Rivian has a great product, they've been in business nearly as long as Telsa - but no profit. GM, Ford, VW, BMW, Porche, Mercedes - no one can make a profit but BYD and Tesla.
I see our people but where are the new ones? Maybe it’s early and they e not gotten into full swing attendance yet. I’ve heard of a few 3D printed parts and the redesign of the front wheel pants from Chris. It’s still missing the hood mechanism. First run fit and finish will always be an issue. Just ask Elon.
Hey Steve - thanks! Also, you mentioned meeting someone from Denver and already knowing someone from Denver. I am also in the Denver area, or just south of it. There is there any way for people that live in the same geographical area as one another that our subscribers of yours to discover each other and possibly share contact information with each other?
I will say Aptera has many times over the profits to any type of production sales for the first year and beyond if investors want some insurance, let poor people like me Aptera match any amount paid up to 10,000 dollars to your allready personal Aptera account, allready subscribed on, of course once things are calculated agin while software code for the payment and records and recipes are recored. One thing I will say is if people some to a little savings are buying Aptera anyways and living on a small budget working hard, well those people would love to save even more on a Aptera as much as anyone with some huge bills allready choosing a vehicle that will save money for bills in many ways. People will spend money to save money.😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮

Good to see so much interest in Aptera. Exciting! Thanks Steve.
When the Aptera goes into production this year, a milestone for planet Earth!

Great meeting you in person, Steve! Keep up the good work and analyzing things so candiscuss and debate!
Good to see the large group at the booth, and a few familiar faces too!

Aptera has not even told us about it yet.... we know none of the details yet, so don't you think it's way too soon to write it off?!?
I am priced out of the Aptera now. My build is $45K now.

Thanks Steve! Just fyi - The updated website has a target price of 40k and says 0 - 60 in 6 seconds.
What model? Launch edition isn't a base model.
@bgeery They removed the AWD from the launch model so the vehicle will be slower

I'm 6'4" and would love for you to get feedback from other tall people who sit in it.
Jack Scarlett from Everything Electric was in one a while back, and he's tall. It was my number one question, but I think we'd fit.

Love the excitement, Just need it to attract more investors.
We will all be like , o my car it's called a Aptera the comparisons to gas mileage are huge savings and what America needs, let alone the world.
I saw on the Aptera live stream that you interviewed Chris Anthony today. Will you be posting that interview?
What hike/scrambling route did you do?
Mount Wilson via first Creek
Think of all the data you get from that first year of driving it.
I haven’t seen you riding the Aptera…

As Yogi Berra might’ve said: Nobody (new to Aptera) wanted to go there b/c it was too crowded.

"no new people here"? All the new people are inside out of the cold wind.. Bad planning.
You interviewed only one woman who happened to be your supporter yet you never zoomed in on her or show her face. Sigh!
WTF? Relevancy?
He talked to a lot of people whose faces he did not show.
