Hard to know if Aptera will succeed or not, because so many great auto startups didn't make it, but you can tell that there is a lot of positive energy around it, coming from both the Aptera employees and the fans. That energy is not something that you can artificially create. You can tell that everyone is very passionate about the project and really want it to succeed, which is part of the reason why I'm so optimistic about the company.
The wheelpants make me think of 1930's racing airplanes, like the Travel Air Mystery Ship. Or reminiscent of the 1930's cars like the Mercedes-Benz 710 SSK Trossi Roadster, or the Talbot Lago T-150C SS Goutte d'Eau. The Talbot Lago is arguably one of the most beautiful cars ever made. And seeing the Aptera from all these angles that you are shooting, it really brings out the fantastic lines. The form is more romantic than I had envisioned at first. Just stunning.
And this is a curiosity; MANY EVs in these shows are the same way; look, do not touch. At the San Diego show, a Canoe EV was LOCKED and no one was there from the company
they haven't read anything about the company they stole money the first round way back in the day never made anything then sold and not the Unlimitied bs solar car now so it just Vaporware
Nice episodes you have, setting up the display and now this evening filming of Aptera all lit up. I particularly like the close up of the wheel covers and showing us the black flexible leading and trailing edge. I live in Ontario near Blue Mountain ski village on Georgian Bay. Snow plows are going constantly trying to keep the roads clear. I am concerned about the wheel covers being severely damaged, I ordered the Off Road package, hoping it will give a few more inches of clearance. Thanks for your good coverage of this event.
My Chevy Volt has a similar material as an air dam under the front lip of the car and it works really well. I constantly scrape it on ramps (it makes the front clearance of the car only a few inches) but it just deflects and then springs back. Seems like a good fit for the Aptera!
Lots of interest is evident, not only in the display area but also in the videos of driving around and catching people's reaction. Once a hundred or so of these are released into the wild, public interest is really going to surge. Glad I reserved one.
This thing reminds me of a Cavalon autogyro with the wheels the wrong way around and I’m a fan of auto gyros. I wonder if the cockpit can be used for something like that In the future home project of course. Especially given the fact it beeing Made mostly of CF
This is very small, but I've been wondering/asking what the turn signals looked like. Now curious how the rear looks with them on. Wondering how well those foam wheel pants will hold up over years exposed to the elements. Being soaked, frozen, heat, etc. I can't imagine they'll remain that flexible for many years.
Thanks for sharing again! Steve, you really need a better phone that takes great video + stabilization. iPhone 16 Pro or Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra or Pixel 8 Pro.
What percentage of the booth visitors would you say were new to Aptera? It looked like an ambassador convention to me. I know Aptera wants it to look like there is an organic groundswell of support but you just scare people away when it looks like a cult. Your measure of success is how many "new" contacts you made. How well attended is this show? It looked pretty sparse, at least outside.

Thanks again Steve for sharing everything with us! It's great to have you representing the masses that can't make it in person.

Aptera looks great at sunset also.
They keep telling people not to touch the cars at the Scout motor while at Aptera, they don't mind.
And this is a curiosity; MANY EVs in these shows are the same way; look, do not touch. At the San Diego show, a Canoe EV was LOCKED and no one was there from the company
I got in trouble for this too lol.
And actually put a functioning prototype out versus the other companies. They’re held together with chewing gum and duct tape.
I'm impressed. Aptera has done a great job getting to this point.

It looks really good at night!!! Thanks Steve!
Thanks so much for posting this! Can feel the vibe through the video
Very raw footage but great to see some more excellent content. Wish I could have made it

The turn signal lights are bright!
Too bright on the hood… kinda compete/detract from the wheel-pant blinkers. Maybe just the way it appears on-camera?
That's cool about the material on the wheel pants. Sounds like best solution

Stunning piece of engineering!
“Busiest outdoor booth”
This translates to $$$$… right? RIGHT!?!?
That's what we're all praying for 🔥!
Great video! Thanks gorcshoeing the turn signal lights and foam rubber trim!
What they really need is white Aptera jackets with a black solar sombrero.

This thing is beautiful! Holding out for this EV, I might just save up by buying used a hybrid until my number comes up!
That "foam" looks like it will hold up in real-world use. Was skeptical.
I'm listening on low volume bc my wife is watching TV... Is that Zach from JerryRigEverything wearing an Aptera hoodie?
Yes
OMG she's gorgeous! ❤🔥
Super excited! Thank you everyone. 🏜🕺🏻🐕🏖
Those Aptera jackets are really sharp looking.
4:08 D'oh! - background music copyright claim 😖
I want the Aptera jacket!!! Size small! It’s my birthday!!! Love it!
Waiting on the 4 door version for Uber

Damn. I left at 4:30. It was getting cold and windy.
@steve The wheelpants tip looks like its soft enough to deform at highway speeds thus changing the aero of them? Thoughts?
I would like them to have the wheel pans auto raise at slow speeds to avoid curb strikes
Do you have ANY IDEA what that would cost to do? Then how much MORE the Aptera would cost the consumers?
My first "flex' upgrade to my Aptera will be underglow lighting!
Thank God the got rid of the dumb + & - pedals! I'm so happy
The last thing I ever want to see or use are the hazard lights 😮
Did the wheel plans design change? It looks more bulbous and longer.

I have a s23 ultra. I probably should've turned on the stabilization but it loses resolution when it's turned on
@ ah ok. It’s not too bad I guess. Thanks for sharing all these cool Aptera videos again :)

How far did it travel and how many kwh used....oh you dont have that data.....interesting...I wonder why?
Is Telo at CES?
no
How many Apteras are on the road today?
the answer is ZERO
Hurry up with this EV...the people of Duluth, Buffalo and Ottawa are waiting. 🙄😂🤣
Gullible no vehicle to show club after more than 25 years of promises.
