@@dadecounty556 I USED EVERY KIND OF AMMO IN MY CANIK AND IT RAN EVERYTHING I PUT IN IT I REALLY LIKE THE CANIK I TRUST MY LIFE WITH IT AND I AM TRULY A GLOCK GUY BUT THE CANIK IS AMAZING
I bought mine a couple months back. Very good pistol in my opinion. Took it to the range and ran about 500 rounds right out of the box and it NEVER jammed once. This is my everyday carry and I personally prefer this over my Glock 17.
I watched this review and it sold me. Picked this one up for 375 out the door. Great trigger and super accurate and very tight with no rattles. Love the grips. No problems after 500 rounds. Great gun! Get one you will not be disappointed!!!
Bought one and I am beyond impressed with it, its reliability, its construction, its accuracy. It ate everything I put through it. No jams. No issues at all. Great carry gun. The decocker is not a problem. You really have to push hard on it to engage it. I have never done it myself. It's not a problem at all.
Just purchased my first Canik yesterday. It's the TP9SA Mod2 and I'm so happy with it and looking forward to shooting it. Thank you for a great overview video. You explained the weapon and the decocker very well. God bless you and America!!
Your post says you're so happy with it and can't wait to shoot it. How can you be "so happy" with a gun you have never fired? I hope it lived up to expectations once you finally got to the range.
Sootch00, this is a very affordable, very well made, quality full size sidearm that is solidly built and is as reliable as the day is long. Every bit as good as any 9mm service weapon on the market today. Even the magazines are superior quality with an excellent rounds capacity. It's a "Go to War" handgun in every way. Thank you so much for another excellent gun review!!!
I just bought a TP9SF. The fit and finish and materials used are beyond reproach. This really does seem to be a no compromises, go-to-war ready gun for $300-350. It's pretty impressive.
Yes it absolutely is a gtw pistol!!! Canik has been making guns as a nato supplier since 1997 and importing with century arms to the USA since 2012!!! But yes, they were making guns for war first before selling to civilians.
I watched this gun from a far for years. I let everyone be the testers first. After all of these years I am all in and finally bought one for $349.00 and so far couldn't be happier. Thanks for your reviews and testing as always sootch 👍👍 the holster I received with my gun is kydex and must be an upgraded holster because it works great and fits perfectly no straps etc.
Just recently went through a pistol use and defense course with my Canik Mod 2 and it was all good. Instructor used my gun for a demonstration a couple of times and mentioned the smooth trigger. Have at it, its a fantastic pistol
I sure have enjoyed your reviews of the Canik TP9 pistols and now the SA Mod 2. I ordered mine earlier today. God bless America and long live the republic. Keep up the great reviews.
everytime i see a gun that im interested i always check this channel for a review..just bought one today and it'll be released in a week..got it for $350
Sootch the decocker is a take down function for the pistol so you don’t have to pull the trigger. It’s actually very smart for the people with holes in their floor.
These friggin caniks just work !! I have the 1st tp9sa and it's hands down one of the favorite guns in my safe. Hasn't let me down yet. I shoot IDPA with it and it's a solid gun. You can't go wrong with them at all.
I have now had my Canik for a cpl of mos. I have put EVERY time of ammo possible through it. Close to 1000 rounds and NOT ONE malfunction. I can't say that about ANY of my other guns. Ruger, Taurus, and even my little Luger.. Would have thought it was a bargain at $200 more, as I got it for $299 on sale. Could not be happier. It is well balanced with an amazing trigger and the recoil is as soft as it gets. The decocker is a feature that I actually have come to like, and no... it has not haphazardly engaged. It is a VERY deliberate motion you have to make. I did a lot of homework and tried a number of guns before making this purchase. My budget was $500+ and felt overall was the best gun period. The FNS-9 was also up there, but I figured, buy the Canik and spend $250 on ammo. If you haven't shot one, give it a go. I think you may be pleasantly surprised.
I recently purchased a Canik TP9SA Mod 2 in no small reason due to your exceptional review. Mine is mainly for home defense so I picked up a tac light and an extra magazine, as well. I will be taking it to the range soon but wanted to say *thank you* for all you do to inform folks with your videos.
@@carsonclark3757 I've got 2, actually. One tac light with a red laser (200 lumens for light) and one tac light without red laser (600 lumens for light). I honestly do not know the models - I bought them both from Amazon but I do know they were not "top" budget models like Olight, Surefire, etc. They cost me $45 or less and they both fit and work perfectly.
@@ChuckJacksontampaphotographer Awesome, man. Thanks. Do they make the gun too heavy? I'm just 125lbs.. And a first time G.O. But love what I've seen from the Canik and hoping the TPSA 2.0 will be manageable weight and recoil for me.. Any insight for me?
@@carsonclark3757 Well, I am not 125 lbs but it fires like any other NON-sub compact 9mm. The recoil is very manageable. The combo light/laser is only a few ounces - you won't even notice it. I zeroed my laser for about 10 meters and it is useful. On another note, I actually prefer a laser over a red dot (which I have also fired on a Glock). Most people seem to prefer red dots, though. I like the laser because you don't have to ADS to feel confident the bullet is going to hit the target and you can actually be confident in that in different situations where ADS is challenging or more dangerous (exposing more of your body to aim properly). My weapon is for home defense so the tac light and laser would most likely be used at night, in my home so it is ideal for that. Don't care if the home invader knows they have a laser on their chest, or not... I've fired several hundred rounds thru it so far and NO issues, at all. I haven't had a FTF, misfeed, jam. Works like clockwork every time. Easy to clean and maintain. No issues.
@@ChuckJacksontampaphotographer you don't know how much this has helped! I've searched for a week and couldn't find the stuff you just sent THANK YOU sir. I was already considering a light and I too don't like the idea of having to ADS. I considered just aiming with my light/point and shoot.. but now I will definitely look into what you have. I also am waiting for my SA 2.0 to come in. So this was so helpful. Last 2 questions if you have time: 1) even with light+laser it doesn't add much weight at all? And 2) I grew up with my dad constantly stressing gun safety and a "safety on" in particular. Would you recommend I use the decocker as my standard safety? Or leave one out of the chamber and just mentally know the process of cocking before it's go time? Thanks for whatever else you can give me.
These have been tempting me lately, they look really nice-especially for the price. I found these for $319.99 online, that's an insane price! Another excellent video my friend, thanks for sharing!

Ive wanted one of these since they came out and I seen your videos. I finally got a used SF before Christmas of 2017. It's my go to sidearm. Never had any issues. Awesome weapon.
Outstanding review of this firearm. Turkey made extremely good firearm without breaking the pocket unlike others I am glad we will be able to have those perfect weapons in our country. I loved how you present this firearm in detail. Sold here. Buying asap. Thank you.
I also like the tristars, also made in the canik factory!!! I have the sf elite and tristar p120 and both are dead nuts reliable, fast in hand, and extremely accurate!!!
This was my first handgun, love it!! Very accurate and always shoots, witness elite match was only handgun that I ever shot that was more accurate. I've shot a cz sp01, beretta 92,Taurus pt92, many glocks and a PPQ but this Canick is way more accurate. Cant be beat for the price!!!
I love the canik pistols. I went with the sa mod 2 for the decocker. Probably one of very few who like that safety feature but I'll love my pistol more when the night fision sight comes in
I love Canik. Excellent quality, accuracy, reliability and pricing. Also...I would add that Glock needs to see how Canik is doing their take down lever and make the change to emulate what Canik does.
I think some of the EAA and Sar guns are on par but some are not +p rated which bugs me. Also completely different guns as the Canik is striker fired and the other's are DA/SA.

My first Canik was the SF Elite S, which I love. Canik does make it difficult to choose one model over the others. I am looking forward to shooting the Elite and my new SA in new shooting sport, the USPA.
Ive been looking at multiple different handguns and multiple different videos of breakdowns. This video has officially sold me on the mod 2 great work brother.

have one myself and i love it, the only issues i had was when i first got it and it had issues with the feed ramp and getting rounds in the chamber but i kept shooting it and it fixed itself. really enjoy the pistol, very smooth imo and nice build quality for the price you cant beat it
Good looking 9mm and good price. Have to start watching for more about this company, sure sounds good. Thanks for the great review pardner.... God Bless (us all)
Ive been with Sootch00 when he makes his videos he puts alot of time and great work into making them for people to enjoy. He is a GREAT man of the USA. :)
I don't like Turkey either I thought you were talking about the video and not the turds from Turdkey that will always let you down like in WW1, WW2, 1974, 1991, 2003 and so on.
TP9 V2 You get a D-Cocker; however, the pistol is not inoperable it puts it in a double action mode and it basically is a striker fired DA/SA pistol that gives the operator 2nd strike capability. I do not know why that didn't take off.
Finally picked up the foam rifle rest at a gunshow this past weekend, got 2 for $20. Have not shot with it yet but I did test it on the kitchen table and really liked it. Can't wait to put it to use.
The Mod 2 TP9SA was the first hand gun I purchased. I have not shot too much... perhaps approx 150 rounds so far, had some failure to feed/extract t issues, but I hear that they will go away once the gun is worn in. I'd really like to get the SFX optic ready version.
Ya'll need to understand one thing.. *Saying this only once..* Whenever i watch a Canik vid i notice a lot of negative comments regarding Turkey being a terrorist supporting state.. and why you shouldnt buy one.. I don't like politics, never have.. Turkey has broad variety of cultures and religions within it.. You see, i totally understand the American mindset when it comes to terrorism, because the US has suffered from it.. but why should an average Joe become the victim of a choice made by his government? I don't consider every American as being a war hungry cowboy? You guys are the frontrunners when it comes to defending the 2nd amendment. Stop hating the unknown! Learn about it! You don't want to buy the gun because it's Turkish? Well you broke my heart.. ;-) Turkey has 80 million people.. not everyone hates the US.. and i know for a fact that not every American hates Turkey.. We also love guns and freedom.. so we have something in common.. Sootch love you brother.. stay safe..
You should look up the horrible things that the Turks are doing to the Kurds and I’m talking about stuff from the past. The Turks have been fighting the Kurds for a long time and they’re ramping up their anti-Kurd actions because of the war in Syria.
Very informative. I just came home with a new one. My goal was to pick up a glock - wanted either the 43x or 19, but the 43x was too small for my hands and the 19 was $620 compare to the $390 for the Canik. Pretty content with it. It's an impressive gun.
I have spoken to a person or two who said the trigger on this thing is great, so it piqued my curiosity. I watched this video to see the trigger, but I had to keep watching this video just to see how the decocker worked since I've never heard of a striker-fired pistol that came with one. Further, why in the hell would anybody want one? There are only BAD answers to that question. I'm sure it's a solid pistol and probably the best available budget self-defense option for those with limited funds. I would buy this long before buying any P.O.S. Taurus semi-auto. But Glocks aren't too much more expensive and they just work every time, right out of the box...no break-in required. No one makes better quality magazines either. I considered buying one of these Caniks before Washington implemented the high-cap mag ban this summer, but I was immediately turned off when I heard the mags were made by Mec-Gar. I bought a 1911 when I was a young, inexperienced shooter. It came with only one 7 round magazine. I bought some extra Mec-Gar mags for it. They were total garbage, not dependable at all with jamming & other feeding issues. Logic ultimately prevailed. I already have Gen4 and Gen5 G17s, and a 43X. I have an FNS-9 and an FNS-9C. I didn't need another 9mm pistol and I'm not going to trust my life to this gun over the Glocks or the FNs. I have a bunch of pre-loaded 33 round Glock magazines if I need extra capacity. There's also a CZ Scorpion EVO carbine in the safe with a bunch of pre-loaded 20 & 30 round magazines. Buying the Canik would have been a novelty purchase. One more thing to consider: while the Canik is $150 cheaper than the non-LE G17, this world was built for the Glock. There are so many more available holsters and mods for your Glock than for the Canik. The included Canik holster is fine for the range, but it's not a self-defense worthy level 2 or level 3 retention holster. If you want a retention holster for your Canik, you're going to have to look a lot harder to find one of the limited options. You will probably spend enough to offset the price difference between the 2 pistols.
May try this. The METE MC9 has been sent back to CANIK due to Misfires. Seven out of first 30 rds. Returned to gun store, said was ok, then took it out and same issue. Misfire, put the bullet back in, and then fired. Waiting for the return.
I have a tp9sa and it’s because of sootch and I’ll tell you I haven’t regretted it once but I have heard people say the same thing about the decocker and just as a second opinion I’ve never accidentally depressed the decocker you have to actually push it. Trust me if you “accidentally” depress it It’s because you intentionally made an accident happen. I’ve dropped mine on purpose on something to make sure that that wouldn’t happen and trust me it’s not something you could do on accident.
I've got 2 Caniks, the original SA and an Elite-s. Both have been fantastic performers. The Elite in particular is an amazing pistol, nearly the equal of my HK VP9. The Elite's trigger and accuracy are superior, but not quite as comfortable to shoot.
Agreed. Have both as well and the VP9 has a little better ergo's for an extra $300. Originally had a V2 and SF, both were excellent, than bought a SF elite and SFX and they are actually even better. Cannot say enough good things about these guns with the amazing price points.
I checked out this firearm at my local Academy Story and it is as close to a CZ 75 grip as I have found. Fits my hand and just feels great. Was about 400 dollars. Was going to buy it but Glock 19 was on sell for 75 dollars off normal price so I bought the Glock. Will definite buy the Canik next time. It looks and feels like a quality gun. For the price its good firearm.
I picked mines up for 333. I really like.it. very much.. But one thing I found out it really doesn't like sand.. Definitely bit if u rapidly clear it out.. Ur set. Heads up,, but still I love this gun. I bought this gun on the same day I bought my gen 5 glock 17.. . And thanks for the videos..
Been shooting this pistol enough to feel I've a real opinion. I've been a pistol enthusiast for over 20 years . . I mean " hard core". My opinion is . . ladies, gentleman, fellow enthusiast and to anyone else who will listen. I paid $379.00 for this pistol. I feel like I stole it. Am I dreaming? What great times for us. Only $379.00 for a double stack of this quality? Folks, it doesn't get any better than this. Buy the Canik!! Go tigers!!!!!
For me ... I can imagine myself always doing a full slide rack if it was decocked in a clutch emergency situation. I would never be able to do the partial striker recook maneuver if the red haze was coming. Which of course would lose a round. Not a big deal but annoying. I would much prefer the DAO for simplicity. As an aside I was robbed at gunpoint once (no I was not carrying at the time) and I remember how my attacker showed his gun was loaded by racking the slide and seeing the round pop out.
6000 rounds through mine and no problems. Great gun and fun to shoot I find it crazy this only cost me 300 new.

have one myself and i love it, the only issues i had was when i first got it and it had issues with the feed ramp and getting rounds in the chamber but i kept shooting it and it fixed itself. really enjoy the pistol, very smooth imo and nice build quality for the price you cant beat it
Good looking 9mm and good price. Have to start watching for more about this company, sure sounds good. Thanks for the great review pardner....
God Bless (us all)
Just picked this one up and the tp9 da in bronze from palmetto state today.. ive been hearing nothing but good things about canik.
Definitely getting this one. I bought the mod 1 in FDE and love it. It's the only pistol I have put more than 2k rounds through.
Just bought one. Looking forward to shooting it. This review really sold me. My son has one also.
again, the gunshots in your videos sound so much better than other folks channels
I really like the way they sound at 00:37.
Ive been with Sootch00 when he makes his videos he puts alot of time and great work into making them for people to enjoy. He is a GREAT man of the USA. :)
Richard Maunder yes i agree but i dont like turkey
Nick Ross yeah, its like a thump kind of sound... even the ones that crack sound really crisp
I don't like Turkey either I thought you were talking about the video and not the turds from Turdkey that will always let you down like in WW1, WW2, 1974, 1991, 2003 and so on.
Love my Tp9sf and TP9SFX
I bought this as my first gun, I love it, I got a different high quality holster, 3 mags, the box, manual, cleaning rods for said 400
Just bought one! I do like the decocker safety!!!
Got mine for $359.00
Love the Canik firearms
This was my first gun last June. Paid 300 for it and I love it
Already in love with this gun
Man for the first couple of seconds I thought you had White Zombie's Thunderkiss '65 for intro music...
I know his bumper music rocked.
It's a generic rip off of that song.
Excellent shooter! I love mine.
Canik triggers are awesome
TP9 V2 You get a D-Cocker; however, the pistol is not inoperable it puts it in a double action mode and it basically is a striker fired DA/SA pistol that gives the operator 2nd strike capability. I do not know why that didn't take off.
Finally picked up the foam rifle rest at a gunshow this past weekend, got 2 for $20. Have not shot with it yet but I did test it on the kitchen table and really liked it. Can't wait to put it to use.
I’d love to see a TPR vs. TP9 head to head comparison! TP9V2 owner here.
Absolute great review Sootch00 and long live the republic bro.
Just an observation. The 18 round mag for this Canik also fits my Taurus G3C. sticks out the bottom more but locks in and feeds rounds well
I continue to be torn between the DA and the SF. I think I am leaning towards the SF... Every Canik I've shot has been a pleasure.
The Mod 2 TP9SA was the first hand gun I purchased.
I have not shot too much... perhaps approx 150 rounds so far, had some failure to feed/extract t issues, but I hear that they will go away once the gun is worn in.
I'd really like to get the SFX optic ready version.
Nice review. Can you imagine if Canik developed this platform in to a single stack?
I own the canik tp 9 DA. I like the de cocker because I don’t have to pull the trigger to break down the pistol for cleaning.
Always great reviews Scootch00. It was great meeting you at the NRA convention.
I have 3 of these. They are hard to beat for the money.
Shut up
Ya'll need to understand one thing..
*Saying this only once..*
Whenever i watch a Canik vid i notice a lot of negative comments regarding Turkey being a terrorist supporting state.. and why you shouldnt buy one..
Well you broke my heart.. ;-)
Turkey has 80 million people.. not everyone hates the US.. and i know for a fact that not every American hates Turkey..
We also love guns and freedom.. so we have something in common..
Sootch love you brother.. stay safe..
You’re right... I have no issues with Turkey. I’m fully aware that our govts do not represent how everyone else feel
Nice
You should look up the horrible things that the Turks are doing to the Kurds and I’m talking about stuff from the past. The Turks have been fighting the Kurds for a long time and they’re ramping up their anti-Kurd actions because of the war in Syria.
@@AlexKS1992 lmao
@@AlexKS1992 who cares
i oredered one from buds yesterday and thank you for a great video
Very informative. I just came home with a new one. My goal was to pick up a glock - wanted either the 43x or 19, but the 43x was too small for my hands and the 19 was $620 compare to the $390 for the Canik. Pretty content with it. It's an impressive gun.
Good video sir
The TP9DA is the DA/SA version that allows you to decock and fire without racking the slide.
Also if they make a compact single stack it would really put a cheap competition to shield or 43
Seems like that's never going to happen...Canik, CZ and HK don't seem to care about the single stack market
Like always thank you so much for such a great review!!!
I have a SF model in FDE and its a great gun
I have a tp9sa and it’s because of sootch and I’ll tell you I haven’t regretted it once but I have heard people say the same thing about the decocker and just as a second opinion I’ve never accidentally depressed the decocker you have to actually push it. Trust me if you “accidentally” depress it It’s because you intentionally made an accident happen. I’ve dropped mine on purpose on something to make sure that that wouldn’t happen and trust me it’s not something you could do on accident.
I love the bloopers at the end. LOL
Great info/review as usual. Thanks again👍
I have a tp-9da I'm loving it so far no complications with it at all
I’ve been looking at these for several months. I’m sold!
Good review picked one up at a pawn shop with the whole.box and a holster etc. Great gun but was worried but this review confirmed my hopes
Just picked up one today 10/10 recommend
Love the bumper music in this ep Sootch! Rock on brother. Oh and the Canik is a solid pistol too.
Love my TP9SA
Waiting for a single stack compact from this company, would love have one
I just picked up a TP9. Caniks are the most impressive pistols in any price class.
You made the better choice with the Glock.
Go tigers!!!!!
walther p99 and canik sf work in same holster hard to find holster for canik
mrmartin i got a clinger holsters aiwb kydex holster very affordable
Not a fan of the de-cocker but bought the SA because it was available, have 4 of the Caniks love shooting these pistols
Anyone else notice 10:04 the shaving that landed on the trigger when pulled?...lol
Watching Hickok45 and this review helped me decide to pick one up just a few days ago. So far I’ve not regretted getting it
Check out the V2 or the DA decocker renders the gun in double action also has second strike capable. Love my V2!
Do you think I can switch slides from a v2 to put on my sa
Decocking prevents the need for pulling the trigger to release the slide for disassembly and cleaning.
Great review ! It’s on the top of my list of guns to buy but in fde 👍
Love FDE !
