Lilo & Stitch is an upcoming American science fiction comedy film directed by Dean Fleischer Camp and written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Rideback, the film will be a live-action/CGI remake of Disney's 2002 animated film Lilo & Stitch. It will star Maia Kealoha as Lilo Pelekai, with Lilo & Stitch writer-director Chris Sanders reprising his voice role as Stitch. Sydney Agudong, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, Hannah Waddingham, Courtney B. Vance, and original cast members Tia Carrere, Amy Hill, and Jason Scott Lee will appear.
Lilo & Stitch is scheduled to be released in the United States by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures on May 23, 2025.

I had the exact same reaction growing up with those trailers Ben, such a crossover movie would have been a true gem to grow up with. At least Lilo & Stitch is a gem from the 2000s already, but one can really tell from the fluid animation and detailed shading that the Renaissance team had improved a great deal as animators in the early 2000s.

Lilo & Stitch is my ultimate favourite, so I'm not sure about the live action but the teasers give off that same vibe as the animated so I'm hopeful it's the same...

1:02 Lilo & Stitch is my favorite Disney film so I'm nervous of how this new film will be received by new audiences/kids nowadays! Like you said, it's an amazing story about family and the soundtrack is lovely and left such an impact on me as a kid that I can't watch it now without crying at the "I'm lost" scene lol 😭❤
It's so unique in its tone - unlike any other Disney movie- I defo understand why it's your favourite! It's potentially top 10 for me!!
The movies that Stitch has invaded in the teasers for the original Lilo and Stitch (Lion King, Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast) have all gotten live action remakes, so live action Stitch invading the other ones isn't entirely out of the question.
It will be cool if they do!! And maybe add in a couple of extra ones just for fun 😅

I saw those animated trailers on the old Disney VHSs and some dvds.
And I remember watching the film on video when it came out. I loved it as a kid but I learnt to appreciate it more as an adult because the storyline is pretty deep and it totally went over my head as a kid. I do wonder if the remake will include the scene when Nani threatens to put Lilo into the blender and push puree and then bake her into a pie to give the social worker who just so happens to be right behind her 😂 but I doubt it given how sensitive the world is nowadays.

I never knew about the aladdin stitch teaser or little mermaid until 2020 or something. Beauty and the Beast was the only one I saw as a kid, then years later I saw the lion king one

it says "Teaser" for a reason of course they`re not going to put more. Just like Karate Kid Legends trailer should be called a teaser.
That's definitely how teasers used to be, but recently I've become used to Disney teasers basically being full blown trailers showing the plot and everything. If this is a move back to teasers being a separate thing- I think that's great!
