Thanks for making these great videos and for giving me credit on the wire connectors. I have a yard full of Christmas inflatables and I have been fixing them for a while now. I totally agree with you about the power supply being junk and I am constantly replacing them with generic ones from Amazon with a female adapter to connect to the inflatables wire harness. At first I was cutting the wire but then I realized that the original end will fit into the adapter perfectly. I don't have any videos of fixing things but I do have a few videos of my displays. I have a lot more suggestions on this topic that I would like to share with you at some time. Again, thank you
Thank you!! 5 minutes watching your video and my Rudolph is back! Thank you!!! I took the power supply from a Halloween ghost and now I am back in business.
Great presentation-I was thinking about trying to replace the fan but it was not cost effective. Two of the replacement transformers were cheap. The threaded nut to tie it in did not match exactly but electrical tape works wonders. Thank you for this presentation. I wish I had found it last year before I threw one away.
Great Video!!! just found you site... For blow ups without a zipper, to make it easy, just make a cut in the fabric,,,,, only as large as you need and make your repairs. Then get some Fabric Glue. I got mine at Hobby Lobby for like $10.00 will last FOREVER... just place a small bead on one side of the cut fabric - it doesn't have to be that much... Then lay the other side over the top, and put some pressure on it for a little while... DONE!!! I had some kids cut one of my expensive blow ups and I thought it was ruined, found the fabric glue and glued it up. It's lasted now over 6 yrs w/o a problem.. Hope that helps!!! Thanks for the great videos!
Thank you for the information. I have over a hundred Halloween inflatables and almost two hundred for Christmas. Power supplies suck, and I have tried to repair fan motors but there is no way that I can find without busting it up to get to it. Many of my inflatables have went dark. This will help me get them lit back up better than ever. Now we just need to find out how to keep them from not inflating over time due to fabric thread wearing out.
You’re welcome! I often wondered if using a spray sealant would help fix worn out fabric on inflatables. Something like a spray clear coat or something. Anyways glad to help you out!
I searched like crazy to find fans with the correct bezel that were cheaper then buying a new inflatable.. Good luck. What I have done in the past is wait for end of season sales, for like 90% off, and buy those just for the blower.
I just watched your old video and now I found the new one. My biggest problem with inflatables has been that the fold over. Like the Minnie Mouse I have, her head bends over but the rest of her stays upright. The fans work but they don't stand up correctly even when fully inflated. Thanks for making the update video.
I have an Olaf who looks heavily depressed. So I am in the same boat. She might be losing air in the seams around the head. I read that you can use scotch guard, clear acrylic spray paint or even fabric softener to seal the seams. Might be worth the try? 🤷🏻♀️ I’m planning on trying this to fix mine this weekend.
You put out good videos with easy to follow instructions. Most of all I like your attitude, friendly and some times funny. Your also real, “I gotta pee “ LMAO ya gotta love it and for that I’m subscribing. Thanks Chase and keep em coming.
Thanks for the videos, especially this follow-up and clarifications to the previous (shout-out the RS solder :D). Liked - the use of the VOM and how to check it, the troubleshooting process. Those butt splices are great as most are filled with gel to help keep the elements out, just make sure you get the right ones for the right size wire. Using the old lites for the reattachment point was a good idea. You showed that reversing the wires is will not work, but state something about DC is a one-way power source, just like batteries in many devices, put them in backwards it doesn't work. Recommendations - A little more "noticeable" emphasis on unplugging before changing wires, you did unplug, but below the camera viewing (not everyone watching will think of that). ENURE all these items are outdoor rated. Power supplies should be close to usage (i.e. replace a 1A with no more than 2A, prefer a 1.5A or smaller), using a 3A or larger can do as much harm as an underrated one. Just me, but in electronics school I was taught to stager my splices were possible, especially if using shrink, should it get too thin from the heating process. The fan motors are best if you can find the exact replacement due to the minimal "material work" that would be necessary to fit and securing a new style motor. Again, thanks for the videos... good material... unfortunately, so far, it is my fans that are failing. Cheaper and less work to get the prewired at this point, and they come with LED upgrades vs the C7 bulbs.
Awesome. Thanks for the tips man. Glad you like the videos. The first video I made, I was like, “no body will watch this” then I had a ton of views and questions so I knew I had a lot more to cover. I know a lot more about electronics now. Building tube amps mostly but there is still a lot I don’t know. Thanks for all the tips and suggestions. I like the staggering connections. Thanks again bud.
I can't find the links you mention. I'd like to have one to a good power adaptor source and to the lights. Loved the video! It is very helpful, especially to those of us with no background knowledge.
Brenda Price all the links are in the description of the video. You may have to X out of the adds to get to it but it’s all there. Hope this helps and thanks for the kind words!!
Chase, I found the access zippers on the inflatables I have and discovered they are equipped with C-7 bulbs and not LED type. Not sure when these were manufactured because they were given to me. There probably of a much older make and the reason I have so many burnt out. Well at least I won’t have to hunt and wait for led’s then cut/solder them in these inflatable critters. Happy holidays.😉
Hi Chase, I just watched your video and it was very helpful. I'm not sure that you addressed the issue with the safety prong screw connector to the adapter. Our inflatable worked fine this Christmas 2021 but we brought it inside to pack away we noticed the wire and plugged it in and it does not work. Can you explain if I can repair or change the prong with something different. I took pictures but I don't know how to send them to you. Thanks
What about watts? My current LED start cord broke at the thunk end of the plug the power banks wor just fine its the wires are broke. I have a output of 29v .10a 3w ehat kind would I need if I am by passing the screwed plug
Timothy Reidy you have to use a wall wart. It’s a power supply that steps the voltage down to 12v from 120. I think that’s what you’re meaning. If you plug it in strait to wall it will fry everything.
Hello I love your videos! I have a blowup that the wires have been damaged, so I have to replace the wire for the power supply. I am looking at the plug and it says the output is 12v 1.0A. Looking at the lights inside the unit they are dim. The fan motor is 1.0A! If I replace the plug with a 1 amp plug will it burn out if any lights are replaced as well? 1amp power supply for 1 amp fan? Should I get bigger power supply and then be able to replace lights? Thank you!
Frank Koenig I always recommend getting a bigger amperage power supply when replacing. A 2 amp power supply would probably be sufficient. The ones I have all have the same specs yours does. If your light are dim more than likely the leds are worn out. Thanks for the kind words and glad you like the channel. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Awesome bud. It’ll never hurt to get a little bigger power supply in amperage. Just make sure your voltage is the same. You can get a 2 amp or 3 amp. You always want the power supply to give more amps than you’re using. Hope this makes sense. If not let me know bud.
If it’s in the wire I’d use a waterproof sealant and heat shrink tubing. Always make the connection to live power in a waterproof box or at a location that’s in the dry. Hope this helps.
I changed the adapter box with a matching adapter with same voltage 12 V. The pump feels warm when plugged in but pump won't run and no lights are running. Whats the prob ?
I’d check to see that it’s getting power first. If your not comfortable with that I’d find someone that is to test it for you. If it is a bad motor I’d look to see if it has a model or serial number in it and search it on eBay or google. Hope this helps.
I need to replace another adapter for my color changing yard stake lights . There are three on one cord . The input is 120 VAC 60 HZ 10 VA the output is 12 VAC 0.5A 6VA so what plug can I use to splice it together ?
I’d get one that matches the plug you have. You can always get an adaptor with more amps. Like where yours has .5A you can get a 1 amp. Just don’t go below the posted amperage.
Hey Chase! I had 2 blower motors stop working right at the end of the season. I want to order the ones that you have to slightly modify to work. My question is how well do these hold up to weather and rain? Are those in the link weather resistant? Thanks!
Which parts the blowers or the lights? I’ve never replaced the blowers on one so I don’t know other than they are made for replacing the blowers in the inflatables. Hope this helps bud.
Ben Mitchell I always try to put them in a dry place or if you have to have them in the yard you can makeshift a old Tupperware bowl or something to keep them out of the weather. Hope this helps.
@@ChasesWKshop I have been using generic power supplies for a long time, but I use liquid electric tape and seal all the seams. This seems to work well for me.
@@ChasesWKshop no the lights come on and go out in sync with the motor. If it was a bad fan motor wouldn’t the lights stay on? I’m thinking something is affecting the incoming power some how. Since nothing appears to be loose or broken could it be perhaps a fuse filament that moves back and forth with power. The fuse of course isn’t blown and appears to be normal. It also passed an ohms continuity check. Geese I’d hate to have to replace the motor. I think this unit may be AC because it doesn’t have a converter on the end of the plug. Thanks Chase for the response.
Thank you I was finally able to fix my inflatable because my power cord stopped working . But I have a question about the lights . My lights don't even come on so would replacing the led modules even work ? In your video the lights were dim but mine don't even seem work.
my tovarish hey, if the light aren’t working make sure you’re getting power from the power supply. It could be that it’s dead causing your lights not to work. Does the fan run on your inflatable?
My favorite turkey inflatable has 4 LEDs. The plug says 12V -- 1000mA. I bought 2 different types of the pull apart LED replacement lights because all the original lights went dim last year. Both types of the replacements are 12V. I got the first 2 lights from the fan to light but the last 2 won’t light at all. The voltage tester my dad in law gave me says there’s power going through the wires. Is there any suggestions as to what I can try? Thanks!
@@ChasesWKshop thanks for the suggestion but switching the leads did not light them up. Should I switch the leads on the ones that are lighting up to see if it will light the ones that aren’t?
@@dennys9506 hey bud, sorry that didn’t work. You could try that I’d also look at replacing the first one that’s not working. Could be a dud from the factory. I think I remember having one that did the same. Let me know what you find out. You can also email me if you need to. Talk soon.
This is great but I have a gemmy 8 ft Santa. When we put it out. It worked fine Now no light or fan. I took the power supply to another Inflatable. Any ideas?
My first thought would defiantly be the power supply. If you moved one from another inflatable it could be underpowered and caused it to fail. I’d look at testing the power supply with a volt meter like I did in the video. Let me know what you find out.
@@ChasesWKshop did that. Both supplies identical. And I basically switched them around. Still nothing. I have replaced fans before but this seems to not be getting any power. Could there be a fuse
Did the power supply work in the other inflatable? If so you may have something a simple as a fuse or a broken wire. Not sure if there are fuses or not but you can do a continuity check on the wires to see if you are getting a connection. I’d also check the power supplies with a volt meter just to make sure they’re producing the right voltage.
Don. I had the same issue. The fan was bad. When the fan goes bad the lights won't work either. You can buy replacement fan motors at yardinflatables.com or www.yardinflatables.com/DC-Fans_c_69.html
My fan motor is pulsing. I disassembled the housing on the motor and it pulses forward a couple of times then is pulses in the reverse direction. Any suggestions on this?
@@ChasesWKshop No chip board that I seen. I didn't pull the fan from the shaft yet. It's a brushless motor. I've tried 2 other power supplies and they do the same thing. Those other power supplies are currently working on the other inflatables
@@ChasesWKshop Yeah it's direct wired to the fan motor then they jumper to the LED lights. It's Santa's sleigh and a 4 rain deer. Of course the LEDs are working fine. I was hoping it wasn't the fan motor and there was an easy fix lol. It was just purchased and used only last Christmas.
I need help I have a purple snake for Halloween and it worked for 3 years .Then this year we took it out and the head won’t stand up it stays on the ground and we took the fan apart and nothing worked do you think u can help me.
hi i have a singing 11ft christmas tree the blower motor wasnt working but the lights and the music box was working. i bought a new motor its the same size and # i replaced the motor and now i dont have any lights or music box working. but the blower now works. not sure why its not working i wired it back just like it was i took pic to make sure i did. if i cant get it working can i just put a new plug in plug on the led lights and music box and just run the cord for the blower motor thanks
Try switching the wires that are going to the lights. Just switch the two wires that are going to them. Led lights have a polarity and the new fan may have reversed them.
@@athenaspillman5914 hmm the plug should be giving power since the blower and music box are working. More than likely you have the wires to the light flipped. Led lights will only work in one direction and depending on how the original lights wires to the fan they could be flipped. You could also have a break somewhere internally in the wires. If you’d like you can email me some pics of it and maybe that way I can help you better. Weatherfordwoodcrafts@gmail.com
The led lights and the music box are wired together they worked fine .the blower motor stopped working I changed out the motor and now the blower motor works but the lights don't I will send u pictures to show u the old one and the new one
sageakl I would just by a variable size kit of them like the link below. It’s not too expensive and plus you can never have too much shrink tubing lying around lol. 650pcs Heat Shrink Tubing Black innhom Heat Shrink Tube Wire Shrink Wrap UL Approved Ratio 2:1 Electrical Cable Wire Kit Set Long Lasting Insulation Protection, Safe and Easy, Eco-Friendly Material www.amazon.com/dp/B07WWWPR2X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_cO2OFbCZFG2DQ
Hmm. More than likely the blinking is controlled by a board of some type. Could also be a light with the circuitry in it to control it. You’ll need to replace it with the same light that’s in it. The only problem is it could be a bad circuit that causing the problem. So. A new light wouldn’t fix it. It’s really hard to tell without seeing it.
So, if I buy a new power supply with the same voltage and amperage and my inflatable has 6 lights the new led lights will be fine? I got the same led lights that you have. I feel it should be fine thanks
Thanks I will go with bigger amperage my inflatable came originally with 6 lights. I did one all ready and looks amazing will finish the rest when it's time to put them away for next year
I would set up a post or box to enclose the connection in. They also sell weatherproof power supplies for outdoor use but I’d still use something to keep rain out of the connection to your houses main.
my light comes on but the motor doesnt run. Can you help me. I have tried to fix them but I have limited abilities. The power pack is new. Please help.
I would say put the red wire from new power supply and the black wire with white on it from inflatable together. And the red wire from new power supply to the white wire on the inflatable? Yes or no
REM 71 you really need a meter to see exactly which one to use. Or if it’s 12 volts, wire it up red to black and white to black with white and see if it works. If it doesn’t switch the wires and see if that fixes it.
Thanks, I tried red to the black with white and white to black and doesn't work, then white to the black with white and red to black and just the light worked no fan so I will try the way we are saying
You may be able to splice the wires back together. Just make sure they are in the same orientation that they were before. If it ripped the chord out of the motor there may be a way to open it up and re solder the connections. Hope this helps.
It’s hard to tell sometimes. It may be a weak fan motor or the air inlet is blocked not allowing enough air into the motor. If it’s a really old inflatable it could be that the fabric is too thin to hold pressure. Hope this helps.
i have 4 fan motors some fans work some don't. some lights work some don't you mentioned if anyone has fan motors to send them to you. if you want them let me know so you can work on them and see if you can repair them. i bought new fans so if you want the fans let me know..
So what if the power goes into the fan and then out to the LEDS and the LEDS work but the fan does not. No hum. No spinning. No nothing but down the line the LEDS work. What's going on here??
@@ChasesWKshop I would mainly do that just for the lights since the original LEDs can be hit or miss on when they want to work. So I would just swap out the motor and light strand. Now that my son came across your videos I will try your trick of just putting new lights in.
Spoony81 awesome bud. Glad I could help you out bud. Just know the leds have a polarity like in the video where they will only work wired one way. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
My power supply says PRI 120v ~ 60Hz 0.19A SEC 12V ~ 1250mA Max 15VA My fan says DC 12v 1.0A Lights say 12V DC 30 w per string. I maybe need one set of the lights from the package. I’m wondering if my power source isn’t enough. What u think with the info I gave you? And my power source don’t say any watts. Could it be one of those other #’s?
Patty Koster. Your setup is identical to mine in the video. The lights are 30 watts per string so divide that by the number of lights on the string. Mine had 20 lights per string but I only used 2 of the light on that string. Your power source is 12 volts so you will need to buy lights that are 12 volts. I will say my power supply died this year and I had to get another one like I showed how to change in the video. You can use the links in the description to find those parts as well. Let me know if I answered all of your questions.
Quick question. What would I look for at Home Depot or on amazon, the lights to repair? Your link shows for the lights, I wouldn’t get till mid of Dec so I need to locate another source.

Does your Casio transformer do well in rain?
Ben Mitchell I always try to put them in a dry place or if you have to have them in the yard you can makeshift a old Tupperware bowl or something to keep them out of the weather. Hope this helps.
@@ChasesWKshop I have been using generic power supplies for a long time, but I use liquid electric tape and seal all the seams. This seems to work well for me.
I have a Christmas inflatable but the fan has stopped playing and the lights are flickering off and on why is this?
The fan motor on my blowup runs on and off. Will not run constant. No broken wires or loose connections. It’s plugged into an operational outlet.
It’s probably a bad fan motor. Do the lights stay on when the motor shuts off?
@@ChasesWKshop no the lights come on and go out in sync with the motor. If it was a bad fan motor wouldn’t the lights stay on?
I’m thinking something is affecting the incoming power some how. Since nothing appears to be loose or broken could it be perhaps a fuse filament that moves back and forth with power. The fuse of course isn’t blown and appears to be normal. It also passed an ohms continuity check. Geese I’d hate to have to replace the motor.
I think this unit may be AC because it doesn’t have a converter on the end of the plug.
Thanks Chase for the response.
D. Geo I’m going to say a bad power supply bud. It’s probably got a bad capacitor or other in it causing it to lose power. I’d replace.
Yes the fan works it is only the lights that are not working .
Is this lights you have repaired already or another set?
I have not replaced the lights only the plug . The lights have not worked since last year or longer
my tovarish gotcha. Yea the lights are more than likely bad.
Thanks!
Yes the led lights have a polarity so if you hook them up backwards they will not light. Switch the leads on the wires and see if that fixes it.
It worked fine
Now no light or fan.
I’m you could replace the wire form the power supply to the fan and see if that fixes it. It could be just a bad wire.
Don. I had the same issue. The fan was bad. When the fan goes bad the lights won't work either. You can buy replacement fan motors at yardinflatables.com or www.yardinflatables.com/DC-Fans_c_69.html
Hi I have several blow up and they dont come on any more one of them I never used what should I do
My fan motor is pulsing. I disassembled the housing on the motor and it pulses forward a couple of times then is pulses in the reverse direction. Any suggestions on this?
Sounds like it could be the power supply. Did you see a chip board inside the motor when you disassembled it?
@@ChasesWKshop No chip board that I seen. I didn't pull the fan from the shaft yet. It's a brushless motor. I've tried 2 other power supplies and they do the same thing. Those other power supplies are currently working on the other inflatables
Gotcha. Are the leds wired into the fan motor? I’d say you probably have a bad fan motor.
Great info!!
I need help I have a purple snake for Halloween and it worked for 3 years .Then this year we took it out and the head won’t stand up it stays on the ground and we took the fan apart and nothing worked do you think u can help me.
Check your seams and make sure they’re good. Also make sure the fan isn’t obstructed inside the inflatable.
@@ChasesWKshop ok thanks
hi i have a singing 11ft christmas tree the blower motor wasnt working but the lights and the music box was working. i bought a new motor its the same size and # i replaced the motor and now i dont have any lights or music box working. but the blower now works. not sure why its not working i wired it back just like it was i took pic to make sure i did. if i cant get it working can i just put a new plug in plug on the led lights and music box and just run the cord for the blower motor thanks
Try switching the wires that are going to the lights. Just switch the two wires that are going to them. Led lights have a polarity and the new fan may have reversed them.
@@ChasesWKshop if that doesn't work will putting a different plug end work for the lights
@@ChasesWKshop i sent you and message thru email regading this matter as well as picture thanks again for trying to help me
What size shrink wrap tubing for the LEDs?
sageakl I would just by a variable size kit of them like the link below. It’s not too expensive and plus you can never have too much shrink tubing lying around lol.

So we have a rudolph one with a blinking nose. How do I replace it so that it blinks?
@@ChasesWKshop the light currently works but its so dim you can barely see it. It looks like basically a Christmas light but led style.
@@ashleyjensen8722 gotcha, I would try just replacing the light with one that will fit. More than likely the led is just going out.
So, if I buy a new power supply with the same voltage and amperage and my inflatable has 6 lights the new led lights will be fine? I got the same led lights that you have. I feel it should be fine thanks
Yes, I’d go bigger on the amperage though. Never hurts to have more amps than you need. Voltage will be the same as what you have 12volt.
Thanks I will go with bigger amperage my inflatable came originally with 6 lights. I did one all ready and looks amazing will finish the rest when it's time to put them away for next year
Awesome bud. Glad I could help you out.
Going to order a 4a power supply should be good for the six lights thanks again for the help.
what if the power supply gets wet. I'm getting low voltage led lights working, but not the fan.
I would set up a post or box to enclose the connection in. They also sell weatherproof power supplies for outdoor use but I’d still use something to keep rain out of the connection to your houses main.
Did the LEDs hold up good in the rain because I did it to my inflatable’s
Inflatable Fan 45 yes they did. Hope this helps. Glad I got you going!
Thank you
You save zip ties. No need to cut. Use a small flat head and lift the tab that clip locks the zip tie
Can you fix mine I have 3 that the motor are bad
my light comes on but the motor doesnt run. Can you help me. I have tried to fix them but I have limited abilities. The power pack is new. Please help.
Sounds like you could have a bad fan. Did it work prior to changing the power pack?
I have a question I got a new power supply it has a red wire and a white wire. The old has a black wire and a black with white on it how do I wire?
I would say put the red wire from new power supply and the black wire with white on it from inflatable together. And the red wire from new power supply to the white wire on the inflatable? Yes or no
REM 71 you really need a meter to see exactly which one to use. Or if it’s 12 volts, wire it up red to black and white to black with white and see if it works. If it doesn’t switch the wires and see if that fixes it.
Thanks, I tried red to the black with white and white to black and doesn't work, then white to the black with white and red to black and just the light worked no fan so I will try the way we are saying
REM 71 be sure to check that the amperage on the old and new power supply matches.
Old is a 1.5 amp and new is 4 amp
The wind twisted the chord and it’s half ripped off how do I replace the power that goes into the motor. So bummed 😩
You may be able to splice the wires back together. Just make sure they are in the same orientation that they were before. If it ripped the chord out of the motor there may be a way to open it up and re solder the connections. Hope this helps.
Whats wrong when it half way blows up and it don't have a rip anywhere
It’s hard to tell sometimes. It may be a weak fan motor or the air inlet is blocked not allowing enough air into the motor. If it’s a really old inflatable it could be that the fabric is too thin to hold pressure. Hope this helps.
Everything works on mine it just doesn’t inflate all the way up. It gets half way. Any ideas?
Could have a tear in one of the seems or a weak blower motor.
Or it's old and the fabric is worn
My lights comes on but the fan doesn't what can I do
Could that fan on it can be fixed
i have 4 fan motors some fans work some don't. some lights work some don't you mentioned if anyone has fan motors to send them to you. if you want them let me know so you can work on them and see if you can repair them. i bought new fans so if you want the fans let me know..
Mine is not working. The lights work but the blower only hums. What is wrong?
margaret frise could be trash in the motor maybe. Can you spin the blower with a tool or your finger?
Motor probably died
So what if the power goes into the fan and then out to the LEDS and the LEDS work but the fan does not. No hum. No spinning. No nothing but down the line the LEDS work. What's going on here??
Danger Unlimited probably a bad fan motor.
I need to improve my electrical vocabulary!
Fan works but not completely inflated. ???
Possibly a tear somewhere in the inflatable or may be something obstructing the fan. I’d lay it on its side and see if it inflates.
I just buy cheap inflatables at Walmart after Halloween, Xmas etc for under $10 and use the fans out of them to replace bad fans in mine.
Spoony81 brilliant!
I do the same thing! Smart, except now I can replace the led lights with better lights now.
My power supply says
PRI 120v ~ 60Hz 0.19A
SEC 12V ~ 1250mA Max 15VA
My fan says DC 12v 1.0A
Lights say
12V DC 30 w per string.
Thank you! 😀 it’s helped a lot. Love your videos, great info.
Patty Koster thanks for the kind words.
Quick question. What would I look for at Home Depot or on amazon, the lights to repair? Your link shows for the lights, I wouldn’t get till mid of Dec so I need to locate another source.
Found it!!! A little late. Haha.
