- Drivers Eye View Switzerland | Cab ride on Swiss Train from Montreux to Rochers de Naye via Glion. This mountain railway train Montreux-Glion-Rochers-de-Naye railway is since 2001 operated by Transports Montreux-Vevey-Riviera (MVR). This cogwheel railway ride starts in the rain and ends up in a lot of snow after a climb of 22%. Unfortunally the weather conditions where not the best. Normally there is a stunning view from Rochers de Naye mountain over the Swiss Alps and the lake Geneva. A good reason to go back some day... ;-). From Montreux there are connections to the trains of SBB-CFF-FFS and the MOB - Montreux Oberland Bernois Railways with the famous Golden Pass Panoramic trainride to Lucerne via Zweisimmen and Interlaken.
Stations: Montreux (395 m / 1296 ft) - Glion (687 m / 2254 ft) - Caux (1054 m / 3458 ft) - Paccot (1430 m / 4691 ft) - Jaman (1742 m / 5715 ft) - Rochers-de-Naye (1970 m / 6463 ft)

Führerstandsmitfahrt mit dem Schweizer Zug von Montreux nach Rochers de Naye via Glion. Diese Bergbahn Montreux - Glion - Rochers de Naye wird seit 2001 von den Verkehrsbetrieben Montreux - Vevey - Riviera (MVR) betrieben. Diese Fahrt beginnt im Regen und endet nach einem Anstieg von 22% in viel Schnee. Leider waren die Wetterbedingungen nicht die besten. Normalerweise hat man von Rochers de Naye einen atemberaubenden Blick über die Schweizer Alpen und den Genfersee. Ein guter Grund, eines Tages zurückzukehren ... ;-). Von Montreux bestehen Verbindungen zu den Zügen der SBB-CFF-FFS und der MOB - Montreux Oberland Bernois Railways mit dem berühmten Golden Pass Panoramic über Zweisimmen und Interlaken nach Luzern.

Cabinerit met Zwitserse trein van Montreux naar Rochers de Naye via Glion. Deze bergtrein Montreux-Glion-Rochers de Naye wordt sinds 2001 geëxploiteerd door Transports Montreux-Vevey-Riviera (MVR). Deze rit begint in de regen en eindigt in veel sneeuw na een klim van 22%. Helaas waren de weersomstandigheden niet de beste. Normaal gesproken is er een prachtig uitzicht vanaf Rochers de Naye over de Zwitserse Alpen en het meer van Genève. Een goede reden om ooit terug te gaan ... ;-). Van Montreux zijn er verbindingen naar de treinen van SBB-CFF-FFS en het MOB - Montreux Oberland Bernois Railways met de beroemde Golden Pass Panoramic treinreis naar Luzern via Zweisimmen en Interlaken.

Went to school in London and Glion and took that train many times . At 9 minutes into the video is my school to the right of the track with the fenced football pitch just before glion station. A truly stunning place and amazing views. Was fortunate to be there during spring, summer and winter.

@@alessandrowda hello, a long time ago 1982 , I went to Glion 6 times altogether. If I remember rightly there was students in my year group who didn't go to Switzerland as it wasn't compulsory. After my first trip I told them they was mad and should go . A truly stunning country.
@@jaycfc6955 Yes unfortunately Glion trips nowadays are rather rarer than they used to be- I only had two available in my whole time at Hill House sadly. (Skiing in year 6, Geography in year 8). Still by far the best two school trips I've ever had. I recently went back to Glion in the summer on holiday, and I bumped into Mr. Townend (Richard) at the station, which was a pleasant surprise. He let me take a look inside the chalet again, it was a complete flood of nostalgia for me.

great video, must get lonely when there is fog!! The headlights on the train seem much brighter in the tunnels and galleries than most others that I have seen on Swiss railways

Jammer van de 'weersgesteldheid'! Maar die rit is weer een ervaring rijker. Niets doen en toch hoger klimmen! Ja, dan is een bergwandeling heel wat anders. Maar met deze omstandigheden is dit de beste oplossing. Nu dan snel even iets warms drinken en op adem komen!! Dank voor de rit en je bent sneller beneden dan je denkt!
