Mat 17:5 KJV While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
Exactly. Not hear ye Kenneth Copeland or Hear ye Joyce Meyer. They are men who can be in error. God said hear ye Him (Jesus Christ) so the moment what we hear from any pastor does not sound like what the Son will say, strongly recommend not to accept. That’s why as Christian, especially in this last days, we are required to study the bible ourselves to Know God and the Holyghost is within us to teach us the truth. God’s word is law and one jot of it shall not pass away. Shalom
I agree with Kingsley Okonkwo so well. Rev. Kesiena is too critical in this regard. Any marriage that wants to destroy your life is advisable to break the vow. God loves your life more than marriage. Nobody body every wished to have a faulty marriage.
@@josiaholatunde he's wrong on basis of Scriptures and commonsense. The Bible doesn't say divorce is a sin. And if any marital relationship becomes dangerous, it's safe to leave than stay there and die. Remember what happened to Osinachi Nwachukwu.
I have great respect for this two men of God: Pastor Olumide Emmanuel & Rev Kingsley Okonkwo but, on this issue- THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY WRONG!! No man is a standard for any truth...God hates divorce and divorce is a sin. However, should there be any reason why a man and woman had to divorce it doesn't make it a standard that God accepts it.
God hates divorce. However, the Bible never expressly stated that divorce is a sin. Else the woman beside the well would not have been qualified to spread the Gospel of Jesus. Pls let's not read our own meanings into the Bible. Even Jesus gave a condition under which one can divorce which is adultery. Divorce is not a sin is probably why Osinachi is dead today. If a person makes an error in marriage, you can't say such a person has been condemned to a life of misery especially if the other party is not willing to make the marriage work. Marriage takes two willing people for it to work. Can two work together except they be agreed? Victoria Orenze is divorced yet God uses her regardless. Same with the Holy Spirit filled Kathryn Kuhlman. Even God himself said he divorced Israel at some point (Jer 3:8). Pls let's be careful of adding our own opinions to the Bible
I've long learned to filter what many of these woke pastors say o. If a doctrine is founded on the error of great men, you wonder what the standard is for the Christian life.
Am divorce because my husband planed for people to assassinate me but they failed. He poisoned me but God helped me, he even defiled my daughters. I hate divorce but I had to save my children and life.
You did the right thing and the scripture is not against that. You can divorce your partner if he or she is found in fornications after marriage. On this case, you decides wether to give another chance or show mercy or not. Mathew 19:9
1 Corinthians 7:15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. Divorce is bad, there are situations that can make you divorce very serious one like what that sister said about her husband defiling her daughter, trying to kill her and a partner against your Faith in Jesus and decided to leave you. Go and read "Marriage, Divorce and Remarriage" by Kenneth Hagin. Marrying the perfect will of God is the best thing.
I think pastor kingsly and pastor olumide should not be misinterpreted by you guys. Watch the full video before you start judging . pastor olumide was talking about how his first marriage ended which was actually an abusive marriage .
@@kerenhappuchajibola3045 pastor olumide was committing adultery because he was her third husband, he has the right to go but if he was the first he can only separate and remain single till she dies. We have watch the full video already. If you make a mistake in marriage that is a first class ticket to hell
Let's be careful how we respond to videos and to men of God. When you watch or listen, pick the one that is right and let go those ones that won't help you. I believe nobody gets married with the intention of divorcing after some years. God will help us
Why? It's this mentality of once someone is man of God do not question them that has turned many Africans into church slaves, if you see something that is not right in the body of christ say it out, why advising people to pick the one they want and move on. How does it even make any logical sense? flag issues up so that it can be checked, balanced and corrected.
God hates divorce Malachi 2:16 GNT You can't be loving what God hates and yet you're still calling him your Lord. If God hates divorce it means it's a SIN!
If divorce is a sin then what is the requisite punishment for it, because the bible is clear about punishment for adultery, lying, fornication, etc but haven't seen for divorce.
I pity these men that uses their failure to teach others...... How come you teach marriage from the angle of your failed marriage. Kai .... those listening to you and agreeing to your personal doctrine should be pity.
We talk too much and about what we don't understand. Do you have a scripture in the Bible that says or teaches that DIVORCE IS A SIN? If you quote that scripture that says "...I (God) hate divorce..." then you don't understand the stand of God regarding marriage, divorce and remarriage.
@@janttetteh6717 If you are a divorces I agree you will talk this way, for God will not support what He hates at all. Jesus said in Matt. 19:3-5 in the beginning it wasn't so.... Men forced Moses to do so, men created their own way....... So go ahead God says He hates worship to other God.... But you can say it's not sin so go ahead to worship other gods like Baal abi it's not sin. I pity you as well. Doctrines of men are not that of Christ. Salah I pray God opens your eyes to the truth.
@@janttetteh6717so you can even quote this scripture and still yet think God loves divorce when it is stated clearly like you just wrote. I the Lord hates putting away (divorce) Mal. 2:14-16..
"If two Christians are in a marriage, it will work.' This is a perfect statement from you. In the same vein, two law abiders in the old covenant in marriage will make it work. It means two right hearts will make the marriage work. What he said that is not balanced is to say divorce is a sin. How would God give and endorse a sinful practice of divorce because of the hardness of people's heart? It doesn't make sense. Divorce is not a sin. It is a safety measure because the hearts of men are still wicked, who can know it? Diborce is NOT a sin hence its provision in the law and not cancelled by the new covenant.
2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: "
We shouldn't base our understanding of divorce on the famous man of God but rather in the infinite Word of God. Great question sir, why do good Christians have bad marriages???
God bless Rev Kesiena. That's the simple truth. God is not a respecter of persons, men should not be the standard by which the things of God should be measured. The Word of GOD remains the same, it is confirmed by the Lord that it's not right, who is man to reverse what the Lord has said. We are in the end times, we should mind what we say as not to lead babes in Christ astray. The love of many is waxing cold. We have false teachings almost everwhere Read your Bible, go to Bible believing church where you'll be taught the ways of God. Know God for God. I recommend The Lord's Chosen Church and Deeper Life for anyone who wants to build a strong relationship with God who has eternity in view. The End Is very near now!
Who is Kenneth and Gloria Copeland...I respected them when I had no understanding but when I started studying them. Scriptures I understood how far those people are far from speaking the truth. What we see in the body of Christ is God separating His from that of not His own.
Kenneth and Gloria Copeland are.not our standard, Jesus is our Standard, I know it's not easy but we can't drop the standard for anyone irrespective of who can't keep it
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. - 2 Timothy 4:3-4 I think we should follow the word of God strictly and stop using so called successful people as a benchmark!
The word of God is superior to whatever any man practices. The word of God remains the yardstick and not human beings. If God says he hates divorce, it's a sin because when we disobey His word, we are sinning
This gentleman is a prayer project. May God open your eyes. I will never rely on "spiritual fathers/ mothers" as my marital reference point. They're also mere men/women. Yes Rev. You're rite, there reasons for divorce BUT there follows the T& Cs for divorce. That is also important to not. About being a sin, again, we should define sin from abiblical perspective
Kenneth married the first two wives and divorced them. It was after marring Glory that he became born again. The reference is wrong. You go explain tire no evidence
Divorce is not a sin. If you do choose then you must remain unmarried or reconcile. But divorce and remarriage is a sin. Because it is adultery in the eyes of God.
So, if the person is going to die he/she shouldn't divorce. Ok ooo... God help us. I believe it has to be balanced, I agree with both point of views... No one is encouraging divorce, that's why some PAstors are majorly in the field of relationship so that young believers can get it right to reduce divorce rate. However, asking someone who has made a mistake and is in a verge of death to stay in the marriage is WICKEDNESS.
1 . Is Kenneth Copeland now our standard or Christ? 2. Christ's view on divorce is very clear 3. We must be very careful who we listen to because these men will try everything to justify their sinful living including misquoting scriptures! By their fruit ye shall know them. 4. Marriage is a deep spiritual matter that requires patience and the counsel of the holy spirit........... you can not rush in and out due to its spiritual implications. Which is why we must never rush into marriage! I come in peace. Shallom!
It has become very necessary to set these scriptural records straight. First, divorce is not allowed but can happen even though God hates divorce and if God hates divorce, It is then therefore not an act of righteousness (Matt 19: 7-8). If divorce is not an act of righteousness, It is sin before God. If divorce however happens as Jesus said (Matt 19: 9), the man and woman should both remain unmarried and only death can release either from the vows of marriage (otherwise either who re-marry commits adultery) and until after that release, non of the two should re-marry. God never closes the door of reconciliation because that was why he sent Jesus Christ his Son. (1Cor: 7-11). Any other reference to any father of faith by whoever is out of scriptural context.
GOD bless you Sir. You are a sane Christian. Unfortunately today, Christians are no longer like the Bereans! We swallow everything hook, line, and sinker!
Rather, outside the scope of your understanding of scripture. I agree with Kesiena on many things but he misread Matthew 19. He read his own understanding into it.
Heb 12:2 KJV Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Dey play, they are giving you the interpretation and explaination, you don't want to believe, you are waiting for them to tell you something that will suit your soul
Pastor Esiri💪🏾 Thank you sir for re-emphasizing God’s intention with the word of God. The examples of people and their marriages is not entirely wrong but these people have a past. What’s the guarantee that they knew the word of God richly before their ministry started? Marriage is God’s plan and if you don’t have understanding in the purpose or context of ABBA , that journey you will FAIL. A kingdom marriage is two believers (these people have understood the foundation and basics to their identity) coming together to replicate the same love and sacrifice of Jesus through their union. This union is centered on AGAPE love(God’s kind of love) and not natural human love which is selfish(which we have nowadays). First be taught before you jump to the end to avoid narrations like this. In the gospel as a newborn babe(1 Peter 2:2) SIT(with the word of God and by it you grow) WALK (Putting to practice the new man and what you’ve learnt) then you STAND (Full maturity in you faith and love walk with God). Those examples should be used as a yard stick with the right purpose which is to learn their mistakes of not understanding the nature of God, his love and the purpose because he knows the flesh screams the need the companionship. It’s not an avenue to just do because they did, understand why first. Learn from it but don’t make the mistake with consciousness of an EXIST. Divorce is not God’s plan and he hates it and people will still take him for granted because of lack of understanding.
Kenneth Copeland is not our reference; the Bible is. We don't look up to Kenneth Copeland, we look up to Jesus. Does God hate anything that is not sin? The bible says God hates divorce.
Let us be careful. God hates divorce but He allows it under certain conditions as Jesus said in Matthew. For that reason, it is not sin. Infact, to say divorce is sin is to say that God has sinned because He divorced Israel and Judah for the very same reason(marital unfaithfulness-Adultery) Jesus allows it in Matthew. Jeremiah 3:8 I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce and sent her away because of all her ADULTERIES. Yet I saw that her unfaithful sister Judah had no fear; she also went out and COMMITTED ADULTERY.
What do we have to say about Apostle Paul says in 1Corinthians 11:1-2 Amplified Bible (AMP) Imitate me, just as I imitate Christ. I praise and appreciate you because you remember me in everything and you firmly hold to the traditions [the substance of my instructions], just as I have passed them on to you.
You sister if she's a born again wouldn't have made a Great mistake, for so many marry for different reasons, not because God direct s them, they went for lust and what devils gives in disguise, your sister need to remain until God changes the situation
My brother divorce is not a sin but Christians are not allowed to remarry, that's adultery, I don't agree with what some pastors say, we can't twist the scripture to suit our circumstances. It's clear. Don't add nor subtract. God Hayes divorce but allows it with a condition of do not engage in sexual relationship with another woman or even remarry.
Jeremiah 3:8 I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce and sent her away because of all her adulteries. Yet I saw that her unfaithful sister Judah had no fear; she also went out and committed adultery. So, according to you, Jesus sinned here.
@@gsweetz7230, "we can't twist the scripture to suit our circumstances" POWERFUL. If the bible says that if you are divorced you cannot remarry and many Christians are going that route then something is wrong. If God says it's ok to some believers then he contradicts himself.
@@adoga84 the was no spirit of righteousness in them to help them maintain purity but in this dispensation we are the temple of the holy Spirit. We are to submit to his dealings
Some people who are commenting here, are divided, some are defending their favorite preacher or pastor , some are even ignorance of what the bible says about divorce. Whether you believe it or not divorce is not the perfect will of God but Jesus himself also said thet divorce can take place by reason of infidelity of one partner , let us not be too emotional in approach but God hate the idea of divorce and the aftermath of divorce. To set the record straight divorce is not unpardonable sin
DIVORCE CAN TAKE PLACE BY REASON OF INFIDELITY WITH THREE WITNESSESS. YET, WHEN YOU DIVORCE DON'T MARRY TILL THE OTHER PARTNER IS DEAD GOES TO SHOW THAT MARRIAGE IS PURELY A PSYCHOLOGICAL AFFAIR WHEREBY SPOUSES WILL HAVE TO WORK ON EACH OTHERS PSYCHOLOGY TO ENSURE THAT EVERY SPOUSES NEEDS ARE MET AND THEY DONT COMMIT INFIDELITY. HONESTLY, THATS SOME WORK.
Oga Olumide, you know this truth that’s why you’re looking for people to measure as standard, Jesus is our standard… there’s no justification for divorce.. if you find yourself in abusive relationship because obviously you didn’t marry as a believer or married as an hypocrite.. remember ignorance isn’t an excuse. You can separate but can’t remarry as long as your spouse’s live. Stop misleading people… you can’t hold your body and want sex in a legal way but don’t mislead those who already know the truth . … God is a merciful God and He can forgive all sins not an intentional and unrepentant sin.
Divorce is a sinnnnnnnn!! You can be separated until you both come back to your senses.. You are free when your husband is dead. Ladies and gentlemen, marriage is a covenant.
Divorce is not a sin expressly, but it must be avoided at all cost not glorified like an option If u right arm causes you to sin cut it off, if your wife is an obstacle to heaven after trying everything to keep her then let her go They shouldn't be comparing to mere mortals like Copeland the money lover, what makes them our fathers in faith, what is the big deal if they are sinners, that's the fault there cos no one is above fall or anyone can be outside God presence and still think they are
To sin is to '''miss the mark''. matthew 19:8 says '''Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.'' Yet again Jesus told the Pharisees, “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder” (Matthew 19:6). So, to divorce is to commit sin. I John 2: 1 says '''My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father-Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.'' If one however does divorce, Jesus is always available to show mercy and forgive that sin.
People should stop sighting those who are far from God's righteousness as an examples, irrespective of their societal and religious titles, even their financial muscle.
The Word of God remains our ONLY Standard; irrespective of what anyone says. I Corinthians 7:10-11 NKJV [10] Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart from her husband. [11] But even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to divorce his wife. The Word of God forbids a man to divorce under any circumstances. However, a woman may divorce if she feels persuaded or compelled to; but she cannot remarry.
Divorce is a sin and sentenced to a life of singleness but there is enough grace for a adulterous husband and wife, then grace is favouritism. God hates a lot of things eg a proud look. None is righteous. In everything allow the spirit of God to lead you. Don't Divorce because others are doing it. Let the spirit of God direct you.
A ministry business men will say divorce is not a sin but those who do ministry to win souls to heaven will always confirm scripture by saying divorce is a sin. Is Kenneth Copeland model of of our faith or Jesus Christ?
Jeremiah 3:8 I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce and sent her away because of all her adulteries. Yet I saw that her unfaithful sister Judah had no fear; she also went out and committed adultery. Since, according to you, divorce is sin, Jesus committed sin here then. Interesting theology.
@@greenpastureministrygpm4289Oga stop fueling error to satisfy your weaknesses. Rather lay hold on Grace and keep the standards of Scripture. JESUS SAID FROM THE BEGINNING IT WAS NOT SO…….. stay with that scripture and stop looking for loop holds
@@emmanuelobi4275 : Oga, learn to rebuke error. The bible didn't say divorce is a sin because God Himself divorced a nation. So, be silent when the bible is silent. Don't speak when the bible didn't speak. God hates divorce keep it at that and stop saying it is a sin when the bible didn't say so. Unstable minded people trying to use a lie(satans weopon) to discourage people from divorcing and expecting to win that battle rather than using Truth that sets people free.
So, divorce a nation means divorce your wife for any reason? That's an analogy and not to be understood literally. Don't deceive gullible people around please. If your selfish desire led you to your bitter experience in your marriage, God is merciful to give you grace to manage it otherwise divorce is not an option for a believer, no matter how you twist to truth to suit your selfish desire. You did wrong interpretation of the Bible verse you quoted and you need to ask God to forgive you. Go and bring back your wife because even the divorced Nation you are referring to in the book of Jeremiah was restored by God.
Divorce is not a sin for those whose heart are hardened Mathew 19:8 he saith unto them( pharisees),Moses because of the hardnees of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives, but from the beginning it was not so
God hates divorce cos of the pain and resultant negative effects, but this is different from divorce being a sin. Many marriages are sin not following the principles of God from inception cos of the negative and selfish motives behind the union. Such can be brought to an end cos the selfish motives will always backfire.
They are all correct. God hates divorce but the God I know would rather have you divorced and fulfill destiny than die unfulfilled in an unhappy marriage. And this will of God is a very sensitive area. Even if you marry the will of God ,if one person isn't putting in the efforts to make it work, it would still look like you married wrong, should a child of God now stay wasting away in such marriage? I don't think God would like you to waste away ooo
Let's be careful of those who build their faith on Kenneth Copeland ooo.... Jesus is still our standard oo, infact in Matt.19 we hear Peter saying how hard it was but Jesus didn't begin to compromise the truth to live for the weakness of Kenneth Copeland
I think you guys should go watch full video before you start talking, don't interpret out of context, he said divorce affected his mental health also his child, he didn't advice people to divorce...
No matter what it did to him Him saying divorce is not a sin is very wrong If it's not the perfect will of God then how come is it not a sin?? Bible says except a wife commit adultery don't divorce her and ye who marry that woman that was divorced because of adultery you have committed sin
You must divorce for the right reason for it not to be sin or you will be making your partner commit adultery. And if you divorce for a biblically acceptable reason you may remarry.
1 John 5:17 KJV "All unrighteousness is sin...." Romans 1:18 KJV "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;" 1 John 1:9 KJV "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Perhaps, let these men first do a checklist on what causes divorce. 1. Bitterness 2. Violence 3. Infidelity 4. Etc If what leads to divorce is is sin, then divorce must xhe sin.
i read the comments and realised people are not quick to listen, and just jump to conclusions without listening to him at all. he stated that divorced is not a design of God and God dislikes it. Lets try to stop focusing on semantics
I hate hearing people claiming to understand how to interpret scriptures when they have never really gone through the study of greek or hebrew. Some of them will tell the novince that the Holy Spirit told them meanwhile their mind spoke to them.
This video saddens me Those two pastors gave examples not standards Dr olumide first wife abandoned him for many years and took his children. He didn't leave her They both said God hates divorce but not the divorcee and they both said divorce is not ideal They both said the case of abuse was why Moses even started divorce in Deuteronomy So in the modern day what happens when tge woman is beaten, dr olumides wife according to him though slapped him not once What happens when the husband or wife is abandoned What happens when the husband or wife cheats especially repeatedly Matt 5:32 Jesus said except for sexual immorality except for infidelity
Those who say divorce is a sin are accusing God of sin. Jeremiah 3:8 I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce and sent her away because of all her adulteries. Yet I saw that her unfaithful sister Judah had no fear; she also went out and committed adultery. Their divorce theology is wrong. It doesn't pass the test of scripture.
I read a book ‘Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage’ by Kenneth E Hagin. It really helped my reasoning on this subject. According to Hagin, a believer who chooses to perpetually live in sin and disobedience to God can loose his salvation and miss heaven, even though he was once heaven bound. God does not owe such a person access into heaven because he once lived in righteousness. Thus, once saved forever saved does not hold true, and since it doesn't, what makes us think that marriage which is likened to our union with Christ, will not be dissolved on certain grounds and the parties involved free from the covenant? Is God perpetually obligated to someone that chooses apostasy, simply because he was once saved? In the same way, when one party in a marriage contract does something that should cause the marriage to be broken, should the other party (offended and hurting) be bound to the offender for life all because they have been married? And if they choose to leave, why should they not be free to seek happiness in another marriage? What happens to their sexual needs? Should they pray it away? Not everyone has the grace to be like Hannah the 84 year old (I think) prohphetess in the new testament, who remained unmarried after loosing her husband in her 20’s. Hagin’s perspective on the matter is worth giving attention to.

Exactly. Not hear ye Kenneth Copeland or Hear ye Joyce Meyer. They are men who can be in error. God said hear ye Him (Jesus Christ) so the moment what we hear from any pastor does not sound like what the Son will say, strongly recommend not to accept.

Am divorce because my husband planed for people to assassinate me but they failed. He poisoned me but God helped me, he even defiled my daughters. I hate divorce but I had to save my children and life.
God hates divorce but not the person that divorced
On this God is not against you. But outside adultary and violents divorced should not be considered. People should balance the scripture

2. Christ's view on divorce is very clear
3. We must be very careful who we listen to because these men will try everything to justify their sinful living including misquoting scriptures!

4. Marriage is a deep spiritual matter that requires patience and the counsel of the holy spirit........... you can not rush in and out due to its spiritual implications. Which is why we must never rush into marriage!

Thank you sir for re-emphasizing God’s intention with the word of God.
In the beginning it was not so. Thank you brother.
