      NIce..I want to switch to PC for next gen once 8K goes mainstream..once PS6 and Xbox Next or whatever is coming..I will use the dell outlet and online couplons to snag the best deal to future-proof...maybe like a 6090TI in an R16...With the latest CPU/Ram combo and a 4-8tb SSD...Do these last for years on end?? I wouldnt mind buying a 3 year extended warranty on top of it

    Unfortuntately the forums and communities are littered with Alienware haters, GN fanboys and PC builders. For 99% of the people buying prebuilts, they just want to plug&play; much like a Playstation or Xbox. Plug it in and it is just going to work. Most people have no intentions or wanting to tear into their computer and reverse engineer it to perform better. For hard core gamers or competitive gamers, generally, pre-builts are not meant for them. Besides, the Aurora series as being one of the best looking desk tops out there is just icing on the cake. As you mentioned, the support is awesome. When purchasing, if calling into sales you will get discounts, but you cannot use discount codes on top of that. Going on-line allows you to stack coupons so if you play your cards right you can get 30% off on Dell or Dell Outlet. Nice positive video.

They just got on the internet at age 30 and bought their first $300 walmart laptop. Remember the CP2077 launch a few years back now? People were trashing the game after not even have played it. It's been my experience, as a motorcyclist, cyclist, and gamer to buy the best. You really do get what you pay for. Decent review showcasing Your personal take on Alienware, a little too positive, avoiding some of the negative aspects of Alienware prebuilts in general, since they all share similar problems. Not gonna brag about them as others already did but there are few things I'd like to mention.
    I'm not an Alienware fan, I have never bought any Alienware product but I do like pretty things I do have very mixxed feelings about the R15.
    This case overall gotta be one of the most sleek designs ever, I'd love to build in it. but I can't just stand the fact that's it's clearly a small, office aluminium box with lots of plastic slapped to it. Extra negative points for non-standard motherboard mounts. It may be a premium product but it just feels cheap, you wouldn't want your Corvette to have 20 years old Cruze interior in it, right?
    And second thing... I just wish Dell would put a little more love in it, even if it has to come with proprietary parts. It's pretty on the outside but plain and ugly on the inside - None of the parts follow the design language. Case itself is just silver, GPU looks like a regular, boring video card taken from any other Dell OEM. Motherbaord is a little naked, just like ram sticks and nvme drive. Give those components some attention to detail.

    • @paolocee
      @paolocee  8 месяцев назад

      Firstly, wow; I admire constructive feedback and appreciate the time spent on your comment! I agree with your comment on the sleekness and despite it being a small, office like box but the way I see it is prior to this, I had the Area 51 which was built different. The Aurora series if I recall was designed as a mid-sized to which is now 2024 standards of mid-tower, so the R15 falls in that category but in person, its quite large in my studio. Looking at it at a BestBuy wont really do it justice because the space is massive.
      In regards to the insides, to be totally honest, during my late nights, when I see the R15 turned on with the set up that I like, its actually got a very nice aesthetic to it. Not saying because it's my own R15 but just speaking from personal experience with it being in my own space. thanks for the details review @lotuseless. Peace!

    Thanks for the honest, frank comments. I've owned four Alienware's (two desks and two laptops) and never had any serious issues; even after stressing them for video editing and gaming purposes. Like Apple, they are sometimes overpriced from a strictly dollar-to-dollar comparison to other brands but they just work and do what they need to do. All of these fanatics that talk about building their own and how much they save is great, but for those of us who don't want to deal with that or deal with bios and compatibility issues to chase that last 1% of performance are fine with it. Finally, with GPUs going for exuberant fees nowadays, the pre-built is a good value. I mean, a 4090 alone can go for $1,700 to $2,000 and I can get a complete Alienware 400 system for $2,500. Thanks again.

It has functioned flawlessly (currently RTX2060 Super GPU) but Starfield's SSD requirements have me upgrading. Dell and the super deal for the R15 with the i9 and 4090 combo ($3000). My first gaming pc was an Aurora R7 and while I enjoyed my time with it, I was admittedly naive to it's faults. Essentially not being able to upgrade core components like the power supply and motherboard is a deal breaker. I went with Origin PC (who have their own checkered history) for my upgrade and couldn't be happier. At the end of the day if you enjoy what Alienware offers then more power to you.

    Good video and I totally agree with you. I used Alienware PCs since they indroduced their legendary Predator-CS601-cases in 2002. Never had any problems and they really perform well. Currently i use a x14 Laptop and and an R15. Having owned nearly every desktop model from them i will skip the R16 because in my opinion the design is far away from what I expect from the Alienware design language and technically its nearly identical with the R15. Airflow-problems already were solved with the R15 compared to the R13. Hope they will return to their „stay different-design“.

I envy that you started way back farther than I did in 2002 and 100% agree that the R16 is a total 180 from the alienware design language. I might actually do another R15 video showcasing that it is still my favourite up-to-date design and you can probably find it for a much better deal nowadays if you can still find one. A majority of tech reviewers are quite unfavorable towards Alienware and specifically the R15 but I thought I got a great deal compared to the usual price for similar spec: it's why I pulled the trigger. Ever since I was a kid, I wanted one, with all of its flash and absurdity, so it's fulfilling a childhood dream! Steve doesn't like prebuilts for the most part and he's anti-dell anything. Doesn't matter what they do. I find it funny the R15 has been on the market for a good good while now, yet they haven't messed with it. Because the new 240mm AIO tames the 13900kf in their stupid synthetics so he wouldn't have anything to complain about. I would shy away from biased YT review sites such as Steve and also Justin (he's just as bad). Dell also has a no questions asked 30 day return policy so that would give you plenty of time to play your games and see how it would have worked. It would have worked just fine.

    I had an Aurora R13 with an i9 10900k with a 3080 in, Some pins on the CPU got bent reapplying thermal paste, so they sent a technician who placed a new CPU in no questions asked.
    Then later when I had what seemed like a GPU issue, they replaced the GPU. It was still having issues, likely a MOBO issue. They instead exchanged the whole PC it with a newer R15 i9-13900kf with a 4090, the cryotech cooling and doubled my ram with almost double speed, even though my warranty was expired, I simply had to reinstate the warranty.
    That's insane! Dell's support is the best around hands down! I wish they didn't use proprietary MOBO, BIOS and PSU, but even still worth it. I am waiting for my new R16 to arrive with my 34in. 4k OLED Alienware monitor.

I want to upgrade from the 16gb ddr5 to 32 or 64gbs but don’t know what speeds are suppose to be installed. I also want to add a 4tb ssd and am excited that there is an additional ssd slot. My kids love the rbg lights and how they can set their own colors. I’m coming from console and I have to say I’m never going back. Also ready or not and Star Citizen are showing me I’ve been waisting my time on consoles for the past 10 or so years. So can someone tell me what speed I need for the ddr5 and what’s a good hard drive to go with should I replace it?

    If you buy Alienware and you have an issue they will send a tech to your house to fix your computer if you want to use that service. I don't know any other company that does that. You can spend the equivalent with another manufacturer and not get this level of service.The other custom build websites out there certainly won't do this. I have the Aurora R5 that is still working after many years of heavy use, I just cleaned it out and now it feels like a brand new PC with just a good dusting, a 6 year old PC that feels new (I don't have the highest specs I have the 6700 processor, air cooling and a 1070), I will take that, I also haven't had one single issue with it other than normal dust, it works every single day flawlessly and the windows updates also install flawlessly. I know there is a bios update out there that kills this model of computer but I don't install those so I managed to avoid that.

      Also what you left out and most people don't know, if after the tech arrives to replace whatever was diagnosed, if this does not fix the issue; Dell will build and ship you out a whole new unit and you send that one back. Top that Origin or Corsair!

    Despite all the negative reviews, I decided to buy an Alienware R15, because I'm not a hardcore gamer and just wanted something reliable and well built. Right out of the box on first boot I started having issues where it wouldn't connect to the internet which meant I couldn't setup Windows 11. I tried WAN/LAN/hotspotting nothing worked. Dell wanted me to download drivers, do this do that, I said I'm not doing anything to fix their crappy PC that doesn't even work out of the box and demanded a refund. I am 50 and want to get into DCS, so I started looking for a good gaming PC. After weeks of research and multiple days where I wanted to pull my hair out. I called my Dell guy, and he found me an R15 that was ready to ship. I had them bump the ram from 32 to 64. Other than that, it should have enough headroom for years.
    Even after paying $150 for the additional 32 DDR5 I still got an $850 discount.

    I love my 12900KF 3090 R13 PC which i have had for just over a year but Dell make some decisions that continue to amaze. Does the R15 as an example seriously only ship with 2 memory slots? That's ridiculous. On each version they seem to something that just is not right. On the R13 you get DDr5 memory but its locked at a weirdly low 4400 and there are no XMP profiles.
    The other thing that continues to frustrate is the AWCC that controls the lights and OC profiles. For years the AWCC has now not worked correctly on the Alienware range. It is buggy, breaks down regularly, and is very resource intensive, the OC profiles provided for the R13 just caused the PC to crash. As i say i love my PC but i wont be replacing it with another Dell product, far to many hours lost trying to fix things introduced by there buggy software and drivers.

I'm pretty sure if they can't resolve your issue and you have premium plus support even after 2~ years of having it they will fully refund you if they're unable to resolve your issue. I do know support was horrendous around COVID, but that was all companies, they literally couldn't stock parts so any replacement or issue had incredibly extended repair times.

    Alienware and support is very good. Issue is you can get the same thing pre-built elsewhere with the same support now for around 500 cheaper or maybe more.
    I had one back ages agk around 07-08 in the old design case but i doubt I'd go back again as lots of great cases and designs out there now to rival. Also dont think this new case is as great as others for airflow (not that the comps on fire but inside seems a lot more compact but spose great if want a smaller case.
    Alienware go for the market of people willing to pay more for an Alienware as it attracts attention like big sports car brand as the reviewer mentioned.
    Side note their monitors look impressive.

    Nice edits but this feels like a sponsored video with only the positives. Would prefer a balanced view in the interests of viewers. For example, buyers might find the highly restricted ventilation space for the new 4090 card unacceptable - given higher operating temps (+20oC) over cheaper cases. While the case looks sexy, this trade-off eventually shortens a system's life and Dell's limited hardware warranty only covers Dell-branded parts. Upgradability is limited or virtually off the table - a caveat that should be mentioned when purchasing a high-end system at this price point.

    • @paolocee
      @paolocee  Год назад

      Thank you for the critical feedback. Although there are caveats which a lot of people already focused on, I assure you that this was not a sponsored video (I wish it was) and focused on why I happily spent my money on an Alienware System. Tons of trade offs for sure but I try to highlight the advantages and why Alienware and Dell are still in business. Thanks for the view and feedback ☺️

    Eh! Seeing what Alienware is now. I don’t think it’s worth for what it is. Some of their models seem like a cross reference from dells own pcs just with a different case. I love what Alienware was back in the days. To me, I rather build my own as it is more fun and rewarding. I’m not a hardcore gamer so I’m not one of those pc builder haters. Some of thier aurora line is basically the xps line. The reason why I know is because my friend had an aurora 16 and I had a a xps 3920 and the case and everything else inside is very similar in every way. Build your own, it’s more fun!😊

      @@paolocee I apologize for that, that may have been a little too harsh to say, but videos from gamers Nexus have shown that Alienware is much too expensive on the other hand and the system configuration is pointless. For a layman who only wants to have a pc that works, that's totally fine. But the pc will only perform half as well with this configuration as if you were to build it yourself.

    Did you get paid by Dell or Alienware for this video because it looks a lot like an advertisement? You mention none of the shortcomings especially with tech support and customer service taking days and weeks to solve simple problems. Either you are being paid to advertise by Dell or they are getting free advertising by giving you preferential treatment knowing you are reviewing their machines. Do you not find it curious that Dell and Alienware service is rated at 1 or 2 stars on most reputable review sites? I'm really not sure about the advice you are giving to the community. One thing I do agree with is that Alienware is like an old Ferrari. It looks amazing, goes fast but spends 11 moths out of every year in the garage trying to get it to run properly.

    • @paolocee
      @paolocee  Год назад +3

      Thanks for the feedback. No, I did not get paid nor do I get any free/special treatment from Dell. They have no idea I'm doing this and this is done through my own initiatives and efforts. In regards to shortcomings, Ive had no experience with significant issues, and if I needed an answer for something urgent, id follow up and I'd get a response; I just feel this would be extra footage that is redundant so I focused on the high-level stuff.
      In regards to the 1 or 2 star reviews, I'm experienced enough in business to understand that review sites tend to have more bad reviews just because customers dont get their way sometimes so its easy to vent on review sites but with my own experiences, so far, its all been up to par so I try to portray them in videos like this to shed some light that Alienware isn't as bad as people think. And if all I've experienced is authentically good stuff from Dell, I think I'd like people to know. Hope this helps :)
