Do you have a degree in Aerospace engineering? It looks so because your aerodynamic explanations are so precise and accurate, and the terminology is absolutely correct
Check the link to RC Groups in the description - it goes directly to our post on it, and the RCG thread has more info from other people who have performed it as well.
Whats your opinion on installing twin 80mm edfs and separate batteries into this airframe? can the wing handle the additional weight? im used to flying the twin 70 Su35. just feel like the size of this Su27 begs for more thrust.
Hi , ace video again! Just got this and its a nightmare off grass! Using 4500 and 5000 but its a killer to take off. Where is your cg set? Mine Seems to fly some how nose heavy?? Some advise would be great!!!!
Like most jets, this jet isn't designed for grass. The CG should be demoed in the beginning of the vid. If you want it to rotate easier off grass, you'll need to consider following the battery mod info in the description.
@@TwoBrosRC cheers for getting back to me. Pushing the battery further back will make it tail heavy? Especially keeping the weight in the tail. Would this be enough? I know you moved battery but you removed tail weight and then put nose weight in? Does this not just put the centre off mass in the middle but keep cg similar?? Cheers for your help 👍
Hi, its so interesting and cool what u re doing with this Suchoi 27! I ve just bought now the same. My CG is now by 185mm with SMC 4400hv in the Nose...do you think this Battery will manage this Jet?Greetings
Trust me- not laughing AT you all, but "not nice at all buddy" was pretty hilarious, that said I'm glad it was minor damage! Looks like a fun jet to fly 😊
Hey y'all, great work with the channel lately! Wondering if y'all would share how you are able to get your reels on youtube! Your short thumbnails are great and the POOPY fact that youtube shorts refuses to fix thumbnails is killin my channel! I would be grateful if you could breakdown how you are pullin off reels thumbnails on this site. Thank you and keep up the good work!
We make Reels in Instagram, download them via mobile, then use the thumbnail selection in the mobile YT app to choose what thumbnail we're interested in. It's pretty easy overall.
I doubt its truly tail heavy. Aft cg range maybe but its impossible to fly truly tail heavy. Remember the first flight. That was tail heavy. The estimated range from the factory is approximate at best and often wrong. When they are correct thet are always on the nose heavy side to prevent crashes.
@TwoBrosRC I understand that. That's what I do. Point is, it can be flown without the gyro if it's balanced on the center of lift. I realize that's not what you want to do and it does not fly as well. My reasoning is that it can be flown safely if the gyro fails. Again nothing comparable to the real deal. Yes it's impossible to fly any modern jet without the flight computer. I finally got tired of spending all that money on rc and started building an experiment airplane. U should give that a thought with your interests in building and detail. Nothing like building your own airplane. I'm building a Zenith701 for STOL ops on my farm. Carbon cub performance at a fraction of the cost!
2x gain, 18 roll, 55 pitch, 10 yaw. It's on relative gains that are controlled by the throttle setting using a curved mix. More throttle reduces gain, less throttle increases it. When flaps are dropped, it produces the most effect around 25% throttle to stabilize the jet during landing.
2200mah 6s in front, 2200 6s in air brake compartment may help get rid of the nose weight ( see my comments on your first video a couple of months ago ). Glad to see you are enjoying flying it now. Maybe 2 number 80amp escs will keep you well in the 68amp max of each 3060 1900kv moor.
Outstanding video and modifications! I heard you say it's balanced around 160. I have an SU-30 I got early on and it was the most frustrating EDF I had. Then I upgraded the fans to the FMS fans and did a dual battery mod. Now flying it at 160mm and get almost 6:00 on 2 SMC HiV 4400 or over 8:00 with 2 HiV 5300's. Haven't tried a cobra yet but will now after seeing yours. Now it's a favorite, right behind the Mig 29 with TV. Cobras & flat spins easy with that one. A short video on the SU showing my mods: ruclips.net/video/F7nD15yAQNw/видео.html Love learning from your videos, keep 'em coming!! 👍
Thanks! It may be difficult for you to perform a cobra with two batteries. The extra wing loading and AUW will make it more difficult for it to fly like this, especially if your stabilator servos are stock - ours are tinyurl.com/B13DLM and have significantly more torque and throw, along with a nearly tail heavy CG and a lightweight airframe.
@@TwoBrosRC Thanks so much for taking the time to respond and for giving me you very welcomed advice. Although I have already upgraded the elevator servos and achieved a tail heavy balance, I'll take your advice on not performing cobras with the extra weight of a 2nd battery and leave those for my Mig with TV. Still, the mods I did definitely take this from a 3 to at least an 8. To bad HH took a great airframe and rigged it for failure, but that just makes flying it now so much sweeter, mostly due to my refusal to give up on it.😎
Yeah, I like the vector thurst for tricks it's just so cool to just flip it around or do flat spins with a lot more ease. I've been waiting on that SU27 and J11 pack to come back into stock as FMS bc that's a killer deal.
I'll just say beautiful plane but Way out of the regular flyer that watches you tube. We have limited funds and resources. Nice plane, I can never afford.
“Nice! NOT NICE AT ALL BUDDY”
Awesome video Jon!
Yes! And thats. How Irish teaches top gun."fly it to the edge " Squeeze all the performance out of it!! I saw you're j-10 vid .. I knew you had it in ya!!
The final vid on this jet is getting posted on Saturday, check it out!
This is how this model should fly. Great job on the repair. Would have liked to see a video on how you did that.
It was super simple, just a pair of CF rods from an old Timber's wing pushed into the nose and FoamTac with thin CA to make it sealed.
It’s so big… yay another jet that’s I’m going to buy instead of a better vehicle
Great flight my guy 💪This is a nice jet bro ,those smc screams
Do you have a degree in Aerospace engineering? It looks so because your aerodynamic explanations are so precise and accurate, and the terminology is absolutely correct
Nah, it's a passion of ours to try and and be accurate and educational. Thank you!
Oh, nevermind, you did......thanks for your flying, that's the way I fly also.
Do you think this is the identical airframe as the eflite su-30? Just a different scheme..
I wonder if parts are interchangeable
The airframes and servos are identical. The only difference is the motors used and the ESCs. The FMS version uses more powerful ESCs and motors.
Excellent flying. Not sure I am willing to try that on my SU30. Might have to buy a SU27 😂
It's worth it! Just add the 4oz of weight in the nose and it'll balance well.
Just upgrade the edfs, and you'll turn su30 to su27 lol. I actually like the su30 paint scheme much more.
Just finished building my freewing jas39. Finished all the mixing. Any suggestions before I fly it?
We suggest you have fun and enjoy it! Hold the nose up on approach and use throttle to control your sink rate. Otherwise, that's about it really.
Hey Jon! Can you please share more info about the battery mod? What had to be done to make it work?
Check the link to RC Groups in the description - it goes directly to our post on it, and the RCG thread has more info from other people who have performed it as well.
@@TwoBrosRC thanks man!
@@TwoBrosRC BTW, I’ve got the E-Flite SU-30 and the Freewing SU-35, you’ll love the FW one! It’s just so much fun! You’ll love the Thrust Vectors :)
@@nirlachman007 The Su-35 is discontinued so that isn't really an option anymore, unfortunately.
Did you swap out the xt90 on the esc to an ec5? Or was it not necessary for you ?
It came with an EC5.

That's just going to add more weight and make the airframe perform poorly by stalling easier and recovering worse. We don't recommend it.

This jet won't fly long on a 4400. We'd recommend the 5300 minimum.
That's a great repair job considering the pieces it was in. Couldn't tell until it was zoomed in and even then it still looks fine.
It needed a lot of work but it was worth it.
Love your content!
Glad to hear it!

No carbon rob in the front of the fuselage? That woukd helped
It had two.

Try a freewing su35 I think you’ll like it
It's discontinued.
@@TwoBrosRC really when? That was one of their best selling jets from what I’ve heard
A few months ago - it's been discontinued for a bit now.
@@TwoBrosRC that’s unfortunate, find a used one somewhere it’s probably the most agile edf ever made I think you’ll love it
No Carbon fiber rods for reinforcement in the fuselage???
It was reinforced with spare rods we had left over from other models.

Most fighter jets are set up to be so unstable that flying without a flight computer is impossible. That's how this is.
