I've been fixing my own car for a while now, never took it to a mechanic, and my neighbors assume I'm a mechanic. Whenever they ask me if I can fix their car I tell them straight up, "I'm not a mechanic and I only know how to work on MY car". They don't understand, they think all cars are the same.
Some people just don't see the difference between being a handyman, and having proper training. Good on you tho for being able to work on your car tho, even if it's just your car, that still takes skill.

As a car guy, I found this kinda funny. They switched over from carburetors to fuel injection in the late 70s for the most part. Edit: Everyone is coming up with examples after the 70s that used carburetors. I am talking in general, yes there are exceptions. Your examples from the 80s and 90s are irrelevant because the car in the video looks to be from after the year 2000
