Honestly, they should just make the cobra mkiv public and give those with access already a special cosmetic kit.
I couldn’t care less about the cobra mk IV. I wouldn’t buy it even if I could. MkIII is the way
I have it, and it sucks as a ship but at this point the game is so old I don't know why anyone would care. They should just release it.
@@RoninX33 they should release it so it can get ship kits and paint jobs for it. I love my Mk IV I use it as a salvage operator.

In universe, Sirius must be really pissed, since they have likely lost most of their FSD market share to Achilles in one fell swoop.
I mean they were a monopoly so they can take that L and stuck it up...
What's really sad is there are more Cobra IVs in the game than Asp Scouts according to INARA. That says something about the worthiness of the Asp Scout...

Wow, very DeLacy focused news this week, and I'm here for it! As much as I've always loved Faulcon DeLacy, I love them even more knowing that they've enraged Sirius, who I've been trying to drive out of my home system of Leesti ever since they scammed the Prime Minister and squatted a megaship in my backyard.
I'm enjoying building out and testing my shiny new Python Mk II, and am very pleased with it so far. It's good to have clarification that the Hutton record has not been taken by it, but rather remains with a *different* Faulcon DeLacy ship!
I only have one point of contention with the company, but it's a big one: the absolute heresy that they call the "Cobra Mk IV", but which I call "The Shame of Faulcon DeLacy". While I support erasing that insult to the galaxy's most perfect ship from history, I do hope that they don't further compound the error by cranking out yet another abomination that implies that the venerable Jesus Ship requires improvements that somehow can't be made to the existing design without necessitating a whole new model. I mean, c'mon. They managed to upgrade the old Quirium drive, minimally upgradable Cobras our grandfathers flew into the modern modular marvels that we fly today without changing the number.
Look at it this way: The Cobra Mk III only really has two minor shortcomings - a fragile cockpit canopy and the fact that it sits so low to the ground that deploying an SRV in rough, uneven terrain can be problematic. That's it. I don't think that lengthening the legs a tiny bit and reinforcing the canopy would justify calling it a new model.

I really don't see why Sirius is upset. They still have compete monopoly on FSD's. Achilles is just modifying them.

If the mk4 doesn't exist then a cobra successor would be called the mk4 not the mk5 - right?

Sirius is just mad they no longer hold a monopoly. A monopoly which, by the way, got handed to them on a silver platter by The Club.
Awful odd to call it betrayal for one company works with a rival of your company. Almost as if Sirius never expected anyone to challenge their monopoly huh.
Also the HUGE irony that the ship that doesnt exist is the Cobra MkIV and not the Eternal Vigilance.

like it's certainly obvious that Sirius is Majorly Pissed, but this is the first time I've heard "disloyalty" in this context
Having only one ship in the game that can properly handle the new SCO seems problematic. The fact that the only way to get that ship for three months is with real world money seems downright shady.
Other ships handle it just fine. The python mkII just handles it a little bit better.
Having bought a big pack of Arx last November, and not spending them on PJs etc in the December sale, I had enough to buy... With the devaluing of Arx purchasing power in the last week, it seemed worth it.
