We need the ability to extract mats from modules, FDEV, come on people its 3310.
When I think about the ridiculous amount of engineering materials I have spent on FSD IR/MM upgrades over the years...
Sure, for 20k ARXs at this rate...
Please FDEV, scrapping dynamics...
How long till we get some “oh no the thargoids can do stuff to the new drives bc they were reverse engineered thargoid tech”
Not long, same thing with the anti guardian field.
Ohhhh I'm gonna be the bearer of bad news friend but ALL fsd tech is derived from Thargoids
(The old drives were reverse engineered from Thargoid drives as well)
Arguably that has already happened, what with the rumoured Thargoid derivation of the Sirius FSDs, and the ability of Thargoid ships to appear out of seemingly nowhere and glom onto us with an unwinnable interdiction.
@@NoXion100 eh, PURGE THE XENOS!
I wonder if Sirius is going to release a “Free Software Update” that unlocks “Extra Jump Range”
Firmware update, that loosens up the safety limits when doing jet cone boosts or FSD injections, giving them more range multiplier.
maybe, completely removes the safety limit to get longer jump in exchange of damaging the FSD by 1% for each jump
"Not having enough chemical manipulators...."
And i took that personally.
As always, top notch reporting - professional and hilarious!
Was that a Cobra MK.IV at the end??? Best ship in the game, can't wait for the Cobra MK.IV-and-a-half!
Waiting for de-engineering, to get back at least a portion of invested mats (and that is a big maybe if I even start the game again, still hoping for it tho' by keeping ED avatar on my RUclips).
Not ever doing everything up to G5 from zero, no way.
wait wait hold the phone... BETTER jump range?
Yeah, the new FSD has it all, greater optimised mass and capable of using even a bit more fuel per jump. They should allow us to salvage the old modules at this point tbh (unless they plan for serious to come up with some updates for their modules, but it would be a bit of a joke then).
@@ShinigamiAnger ... everyone, get yer asses to the other titans, WE NEED MORE ENGINE COMPONENT VARIATIONS TO MAKE THIS THING EVEN BETTER MUAAHAHAHA
Some of us Cmdr's are only buying a few new Ludicrous Speed SCO FSD drives. I bought one of each size A rated and will swap to the ship I am flying as needed
I have too, there is no way I can rind all those mats for every ship I have... thx FDev!
I completed 26 new fcos and have about 10 left to do lol Data mined wake exceptions are holding me back.
Greetings CMDRs, I must inform you all to make sure you have a fuel scoop if you plan on engaging SCO. That thing was designed specifically to keep the Fuel Rats in business.
I cant wait for what Sirius will come up with, the SCO capabilities by Achilles is something that i love the most!
I wonder? reading between the lines "tinfoil hat in place" will we get the ability for our engineers to reuse the upgrade materials from our old drives to any new ones purchased, or is it even more grind ahead?
I hope Sirius comes up with something better. I’ve purchased a few sco drives to engineer. But I’ll wait a little longer before I try to upgrade my entire fleet.
GND flexing on us with that Mk IV at the end.
Why couldn't they have just made the boost function a new feature added to all FSDs to benefit all commanders rather than making it a new module we now have to engineering again many times over to replace on all our ships
I' still sad that the galaxy jump drive technology was lost.
What are you talking about ? Which drive was capable to do that ?!
? bruh we haven't even mapped a droplet of the milky way, i'd rather not go to a new galaxy xD
not lost, just not yet invented. Human's technology in 34th century is advanced, but not advanced enough for intergalactic travels, which would require extremely vast amount of energy to open up a wormhole to get there
great job commanders as ever o7
I have managed to g5 engineer 32 ships worth of fsd Sco. Luckily I maxed out my mats before odyssey dropped.
Come oooon guardian tech ships…come oooon guardian tech ships…and come ooooon guardian tech ship kits too
Come on hostile Guardian AI enemies… they wiped the Guardians out and vanished, what have they been up to and where did they go?
Ah, those tasty new design ships taking the SCO FSD onto further domination... So, very soon, we won't only have the Anaconda Graveyard, but the Krait, Courier and Asp Scout final resting places orbiting unloved bodies!
So Tionisla Orbital Graveyard will still appear:)
Is that a Galnet Cobra MK IV?
Need to update my paint jobs first. Hope chrome is available.
It's both great and ridiculous that these are even better than a v1 FSD from the tech broker.
Will these drives produce greater jump ranges than the double engineered ones we got a while ago?
Nope. The pre engineered ones are slightly further range o7 cmdr 😎👍
In case of size 5, yes, marginally better - difference on the level of 0.1ly. For the size 6 pre-engi FSD, that one comes out ahead, again marginal difference.
i built an exploration conda and managed to get it up to 81.90 with srv bay and some other mod cons with the new 6a drive
For the current known specifications of the drives class 6 and 7 double engineered drives (if a class 7 existed) continue to slightly beat out the SCO single engineered drives in single jump distance.
Class 5 and below the SCO drive slightly wins, except for class 2 drives where it more significantly wins (and again there’s no pre-engineered class 2 anyway).
That being said the pre-engineered drives beat out the SCO drives for equal amounts of fuel, so if you were planning a series of 1 ton fuel jumps, the pre-engineered ones will get more out of that jump than the SCO one, only just barely though.
@@rst872 I am at 91.07 with my Colonian Concorde 'Conda. But that is all it does lol
Ok where did you get the Gal Net livery?
im so happy we can recycle eng components ..
🤔
I might engineer max 2 of these drives. I have the mats for them. One for my main fighter and one for my Explorers/Mat collectors. Glad they all use size 5 so I just need to swap one around. No way I'm engineering a new one for my other 30 ships. If they don't give us some form of mats recovery then they can go 🖕 off.
Obviously the solution is buying out Achilles
those drives are available for ps4 acounts?? thanks in advance
Why not dump all the redundant fsds with all those limpets floating around the universe? It’ll be fine…. Environment shironment🤷Seriously , the idea of a scrapyard and getting materials back is a great idea. 🤞
What was that black ship at the end? Pretty sure it doesn't exist.
Cobra Mk iV. Was only available for purchase waaaaaay back in the day.
Sirius should establish a community goal for any used FSD in order to raise funds for the next-generation FSD.
The next generation fsd to curb the new generation fsd from this new generation space travel in order to complete the new generation fsd for their new generations of fsds so when the next generation comes the new generation fsds will be prepared for the new generation that is space traveling, with fsds
@@supersoapdropper1826 haha. i get you. o7 Cmdr.
sco should have been an addon built with Sirius , this feels like war and 'achilles' is not a word i want associated with my ship.
that they thought that name was ok is a huge signal to not use .
lets see if Adonis design corp can build a new ship eveyone wants...
fwiw . over 350 fsd's.
i own 1 sco. but time will tell if safety is an issue on someone elses ships.
meanwhile, still looking for sirius missions
Lotta complaints i see are literally manifestations of laziness or players that simply have to admit they aren't the target demographic in a case like this, yeah this is A TOTAL UPGRADE but they'll still find ways to complain because of the time they spent on their old drives, news flash commanders, newer players don't have 30, 20, or even 10 ships, the game is aiming for new players and ways to enhance their experience, is it that hard to be grateful? be glad change is happening and it is legit all benefits for everyone, jeez.
... look, we have a whole galaxy to choose from. Can't we just pick some dead moon with no biologicals somewhere to put them and call it a day?
Serious waste, or you seriously misunderstanding it's point
Everybody out here complaining about having to mat grind and freshly engineer a ton of modules: "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
Me, a chronic theorycrafter since 3302: "First time?"
Is there actually a way to increase the storage space for modules?
That would be worth real money to me.
Don't give them any Ideas
@@deen7052 why not? Do you want to see them die?
I still want to play the game in a few years and if they don't manage to earn money in a meaningful way, Elite Dangerous is history.
66th!
Making the old drives obsolete is a very bad move in gameplay perspective. I hope this doesn't stay this way, but i don't trust the developers.
it is, if it isn't part of a story...😊
fwiw all my comments are roleplay...beware the firmware co😢mment from the tendon.
Frontier Developers setting a, NO RECYCLING POLICY. I wonder if that will harm their ESG score. Perhaps they will make up for it with even more "Diversity" in NPC characters.
Juck. Dirty. Tricksters. First you have to grind months to upgrade your FSD. Now you jokingly introduce a new type of drive forcing everyone that wants to use it to grind again for months perhaps for materials to upgrade all their ships. On top of that every FSD drive costs quite a bit of credits aswell. Why can't you allow for CMDR players to just retrofit their engineered FSD drives so it adds the function to it? Why make us pay millions of credits and again hundreds of hours to updrade new drives? The F where you thinking? This how you want elite to live on? As the never ending grind?
The SCO drives aren’t really very good I prefer the old FSDs
Why is that?
