If I had 1/3 of his talent I’d at least give this a try. My dad had enough talent to build his own campers. 1 time he didn’t have enough wood so he used cardboard! Unfortunately we went through a place where it flooded and we had a couple of leaks but overall it was a great experience for a young girl, my age. We lost our dad this year at the age of 93.
Breath taking!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽 The skill & talent this guy has is off the charts! The backpack & overnight bag stole my heart😍😍. Cassie is a fantastic interviewer. Her voice is so calm & soothing. She could do voiceover work👌🏽 Thanks,Bob!😊❤️
George, I have not read all the comments so someone may have pointed this out already. The protectors over the locking mechanisms (anti-pry bar) are good, but the hinge pins can be popped off in seconds by an intruder, thus allowing your door to come off easily.
I do appreciate the older, low tech ways. In fact, to me what's daunting in designing my THOW is balancing NOT having too much modern conveniences, which can easily break down and cost me in the long run. The most priceless things I've learned about in the past 10 years--having been longterm unemployed at one point and things breaking down in my house and doing without until I could afford to fix or replace them--is that I CAN do without them, and still be comfortable. I'm glad I went through that as it's helped me become more minimalist minded and will make my THOW design much easier, and less expensive, to build. Wonderful video! Keep up the great work and information: it's invaluable! 😊
Oh wow, I absolutely love this! Now I just need it to have a motor and cab so it doesn't have to be pulled! At 75 hookups have gotten too complicated for me. I must be part gypsy. George Crawford, you are gifted!
Just wonderful! So much fun stepping back 50 years. Have camped for decades and enjoy meeting the people who also camp, there are SO many characters out there and even more great stories! I am a runaway, at the campground at least from the time I could walk I would volunteer to take the trash or whatever just so I could look at other 'setups' and meet new people! One of the Gypsy campers I met while one of my walks later showed up near Big Stone Gap WV only to find out that she and my great Aunt Alice were friends. I love the maps and Modge Pog in my opinion is one of the best covering for maps. I love the attention to details. Thanks for sharing. We are all under the same sky!
Years ago while traveling south between Aurora and Rising Sun Indiana we saw a red gypsy wagon camped along the Ohio River. Thought they had a white horse to pull it with but turned out to be a white mule. It was really a nice setup. My estimated date of seeing this was around 2001. We were pressed for time and didn't stop to chat. Wish we had.
Thank you for sharing this... I think I have seen this Wagon in So Cal. I love the idea of using a tool chest for your drawers, and you can often find these at Estate Sales and garage sales. Very ingenious!
Loved this wagon and the clever craftsman George is a treasure! What talent there is in peoples hands to make such great homes with so much love and passion. Awe inspiring! Thanks for sharing🌈👏👍
THANK YOU! This is wonderful information about WinterCount, George Crawford, and his information. I've looked at WinterCount website as well as Geoprge Crawford's website. Thanks you so much for going to the festival! Stay safe and well!
I absolutely loved this interview. George is an amazing at his crafts. I never knew about this group. Very interesting. Thank you so much! Now I want to know more. Excellent job.👏👏👏
Gorgeous vardo. Thank you George for allowing us to peek in. Although it's longer than usual, I really like what extending the vardo by a few feet does to functional space within. I'm researching sheep camps and vardos, trying to figure out what kind I'd maybe attempt to construct myself something in my pursuit of peace and quiet for my creative pursuits to park by the farm pond. Our property was a sheep ranch before we bought it. When I rolled in with a uhaul in tow 3 years ago, there was a large flock of sheep here. A few houses before the turn-in to our place, there's a little sheep wagon sitting in someone's front yard. This is definitely a place these wagons look right at home. Call me a good old fashioned nutter, but I'd be happy to be able to swap between a truck hitch and a horse hitch on mine. Do I need a horse team? No. Does it overlap with other hobbies, it does! A little sidenote, the "old Russian coffee pot" at 11:10 is a classic *samovar*, a Russian tea kettle! The old ones have a chimney stack built into them to put hot coals in that boiled the water inside the circular outer jacket. Tea was made strong in a small tea pot, and the little kettle was used almost as a tea concentrate, topped off with more hot water from the tap. Many but not all samovars have a spot at the top of the chimney stack to keep the little kettle hot until serving. They're a fun gadget if you can find them while antique hunting.
Great video ! Beautiful work and design. KC you are so talented with your work on these presentations, but today I realized what a great voice you have. You really should do more of these.
I love this type of Gypsy/Bardo wagon style with some camping gear that’s newer style camping stove and the old victorian style hinges etc. in the horseshoe hanging on the wall as well as many other beautiful old style lamps etc. I can appreciate his fine wood working skills and teaching those skills to other people who want to learn how to make their own projects. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home on wheels!👍
It took an archaeologist to bring all of those magnificent details into a space such as a gypsy wagon. I've seen a number of gypsy wagons but none compare to George's!
I Totally, appreciate the locking tool box as when I brought my dad's here, it was too nice to leave in the barn so I have in the house, great place to secure items.
This is so beautiful! I love there old English Gypsy wagons. This guy is so skillful and talented to be doing all these different kinds of handcrafted works of art. What a great video! Thanks for sharing it with us.
I love it! For most of the same reasons my HW PUP camper is loved by me. 2024 I will start incorporating aesthetics of a Vardo/Gypsi wagon to make me happy. Thanks for sharing the video!
When I was a kid. we had a guy that would come buy and live on the farm for awhile. his had iorn wheels and and pulled buy a pair of black mules. always made me dream of living that kind of life. never did do it , but this brought back of a lot of memories. he had his was stand on the out side of the wagon and I used to watch him shave. back then we had an out house so the problem of going to the bath room was no problem and yes we had a box of corn cobs red ones for the first and yellow for the rest of the job.
Absolutely brilliant way to live and for me definitely more homely and comfortable than a lot of modern vans. You could definitely feel chilled in it. Thank you George for allowing the tour and your leather work is awesome 👌
Love a vardo. I would like it about 14’ so I could have a little bathroom. Beautiful workmanship. I think I would go with a smaller stove too even though I would have to stoke it more often. Maybe a couple of storage boxes on the outside as well. Very talented. Thank you for showing your gorgeous work. The transom window is great. Lets a lot of natural light in!

Thanks very nice video
I liked your wagon 👍👍👍👍👍
The interviewer was fabulous. She needs to start her own channel. Great voice, great commentary.
I thought the same thing
Have to agree. She is an excellent interviewer. Asks all the right questions. Her voice is very calming.
Yes she did a great job.
I think KC is loyal to working with Bob so I appreciate her contributions to his channel.
@@SindyJ37 , Bob makes 6 figures with his RUclips channel. She has the talent so she is a fool if she does it as a volunteer.
I'm looking at making one of these for my kids and I. Out of a old pop up trailer.
Beautiful, the leather bags are gorgeous. Safe travels, Blessings
Wow! Absolutely amazing!
I really love this gypsy wagon I loved it how he decorated it inside❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕💕💕💕🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍😍😍
Awesome gyspy wagon. And fantastic wood, leather & other stuff like metal workings. Just outrageously awesome.
Wow it so beautiful... Attention to detail is excellent.. Great work. 👍👍

What a talented interesting gentleman. Thank you for this video!
This is the first Vardo I have seen where the ceiling beams run front to back instead of side to side. Great feature. Inspired now. Great video.
I have wanted a Vardo for years. This man and his ways, abilities etc... AND this Vardo are wonderful. Thank You for sharing this.

Very nice, KC. May I suggest that you shoot wide establishing shots of interior without bodies and exteriors too. This was a lovely video. Thank you.

One of my favourite interviews, many thanks. This is definitely more to my liking than a high tech RV.
