- I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by U2 is featured in City of Angels, the eleventh episode of Season Five. It is sung by the New Directions, with solos from Artie, Blaine, Sam, and Tina as part of their Nationals setlist.
Flashbacks of Finn from the previous seasons where shown during the musical number. While New Directions dedicated their entire 2013 Nationals Setlist by performing some of Finn's favorite songs, his mother stated that this one in particular was his absolute favorite.

In my opinion, one of the best New Directions performances in all of its contests. The version perfectly captures the poetic and motivational force of U2's music, the voices of Sam and Artie shine more than ever, and that ending with Sam lifting Finn's drumsticks gives you goose bumps...

And did you know that Cory's death was the reason to why the end of Season 5 was all NY? Ryan confirmed this. It's quite ironic.

Listening to this song makes me feel like I was there like I lived through everything. That I was apart of new directions, I was apart of the family. I have never felt so connected to a show.

The flashbacks... Carol saying "they are singin all his favorite songs...", the drumsticks raised up at the end... it kills me everytime.

My journey for becoming a person, who loves to perform, started out in the most usual way, while playing the video game “Rock Band”. Just goofing off and being all like whatever. Then when Glee aired, it kind of changed a lot of who I am, and didn’t plan to be. Cory Monteith “Finn” guided me through a door, where I felt comfortable being a male, singing Katy Perry, Gaga, and show tunes, which drove me outta my comfort zone, tenfold. There’ll always be a place in my heart reserved for him! Love you Cory!! OUR QUARTERBACK!

Everyone is saying, "Kevin, Jenna, and Darren owned this song." But can we talk about Chord Overstreet? Like y'all are talking about everyone but him. Personally, I feel like he did the best with the song and you can tell that he was really putting all of his emotions into the song.
i loved this song when it was just u2's song, but after hearing glee perfom it- and the memories of Finn/Corey- this is now my all time favorite. even in years to come no song will ever beat this in my play list, NONE.......RIP Corey Monteith (its not how you die that counts, its how you live)

Nobody seems to understand that the reason they lost is because the show is going to be all New York after these next two episodes. Therefore if they did end up winning it would make no sense to keep the Glee Club. Get it? Its still very upsetting that they lost especially when they dedicated to Finn but it only makes sense:)
And believe it or not, Cory's death was the reason to why they decided to make the shift to NY in the first place. Did you know that?
MrJon92as Well, Finn was supposed to take over the glee club. Season 5 would about Finn in a college in Lima & helping mr Schue at the school while Rachel in NY, achieving things that they’ve always wanted. Then season 6 was supposed to be about them getting back together and finally getting married. But yeah, since Cory died, they had to make a new storyline since there was no original members left in glee club so it would be pointless for them to focus at the club anymore. Hence, they all went to New York 😭
the quarterback was sadder and these tributes made me happy

Glee isn't the same without Finn because if Corey was alive they wouldn't hasn't died this tribute wouldn't have been done and maybe the season would be different. But the quarterback was beautiful but this is still sweet to do a tribute to Finn. I MISS FINN SO MUCH! :(

Seems like some people think this version is better than the original, while others think it's an insult to U2. Why can't we all just agree that both versions are amazing and awesome and all kinds of excellent?
The original version of this song was a classic and a very moving piece of music, but this one carries so much of its own emotion and power that it's hard to compare the two. I love them both in different ways.
Glee took many classic songs and gave them new life, but that doesn't make the originals any less classic. Original or cover, it's all great music, and should be appreciated as such.

Their National's performance was better than their tribute episode 'The Quarterback'. I liked the songs in the episode but I think these songs help speak out about Finn a lot more. My guess the reason why they used these songs because maybe they were Cory's favorite songs.

+Nancy Chacón Mata I agree that the songs ND did were better that TE, but they had it where they lost so that Sue could disband the club, and they had it where Sue disbands the club so that they could finish the season in New York only. And Cory's death was the reason to why they decided to shift to New York actually. It was a chain of events that led to this.

I think the first tribute episode was so...weird? It felt false somehow, where as their tribute to Finn/Cory in this episode felt more raw and real. I get why they did "the Quarterback" but I think this was just better, felt more natural :) Just my opinion x
