"BUFFALO, N.Y. - Martin Gugino is not one to stand out in a crowd.
The 75-year-old Amherst, New York, resident’s goal at rallies and protests is to ask questions, bring the community together and stand in quiet solidarity for peace, friends and his lawyer said Friday.
But he was thrust into the national spotlight Thursday night after he was pushed to the ground by a Buffalo police officer after peaceful protests at Buffalo City Hall.
Videos from the incident showed Gugino approaching a line of police, and then an officer pushing him backward.
Gugino stumbled back and then fell to the ground, his head hitting the sidewalk. Blood pooled around the back of his head almost immediately.
Bystanders who were at the scene said police called medical personnel, who showed up within minutes. "

If you go head on with cops with the mentality of "if u want X you're gonna come through me" then dont be surprised when they actually go through you. That was barely a shove and police made it very clear that he needed to back away. Do i want police to go shoving elderly people? Of course not. Do i want elderly people to go head on with cops like this? Absolutely not. The moral of the story is dont go playin stupid games cuz all you gonna get are stupid prizes.
They should'nt have pushed him, but they barely did push him. Seemed like he was doing a soccer flop and forgot how old he was and fell alot harder then he thought he would. The energy put into the shove wasn't enuff to fling him back like that. Like I said tho, cops should'nt be putting hands on anyone...if u touch a cop they'll throw the books at u. Just like Martin Luther King. It has always been the ordinary people who are the instruments of social change. From the tone of your blog you must be a trump supporter. Those instruments started the WARIndependence movement away, from the domination English. The Civil War that ended slavery, only to replaced by Jim Crow as a social norm and you would have been there with cruel punishments if they didn’t reach target standards, and finally the KKK.

I would want to kill him but would hope the officer will get arrested and charged, incl. the man who told him to keep walking, he is just as bad, the officers walking past the man, IDK what to even say abt that, how do you take them all on?! I sure would sue the police, the one who gave the order, anyone who was behind the aggressive response to the peaceful protests/protesters, esp in NYC!! Damn pigs, almost all of them cops. I saw a different post regarding this assault and there were so many trash comments claiming the old man was a criminal and that he was trying to cause a riot.
