  • In 2018, I was inspired by the success of the original Black Panther film to research Hispanic Superheroes and begin a brand new "wing" of my Personal Collection solely devoted to this under-represented group of heroes. Being Marvel Comics' first Hispanic superhero, White Tiger was one of the first characters I focused on and I gathered a nice selection of books.
While I've spoken at length about the character and legacy, I'd held off on doing a Top 10 List... until now! I'm excited to share my picks for this character because he really has been a cornerstone of my collection for the past 4 years.
So, here are my picks for the Top 10 White Tiger Comics You Should Buy Now... and 4 of the 5 iterations of this character are included on the list!
    10. Daredevil #58 (Volume 2)
    9. The Spectacular Spider-Man #52 (Volume 1)
    8. Marvel Voices: Communidades #1 (1:50 George Perez Ration Variant)
    7. Daredevil #40 (Volume 2)
    6. Black Panther #62 (Volume 3)
    5. Mighty Avengers #3
    4. White Tiger #1 - #6
    3. Spectacular Spider-Man #9 - #10 (Volume 1)
    2. Avengers Academy #20 - #21
    1. Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #19

Picked up that White Tiger series at Half Price Books earlier this year in the Dallas area. That Spectacular #9 is a classic cover. Great list.

Looking forward to this. Admittingly I got into this character because I first got into the White Tiger rip off character from the Dexter's Laboratory Justice Friends shorts. But I'm interested in the real McKoy as an adult.

I’m glad to hear it! This lineage of characters is one of the cornerstones of the Hispanic Superheroes Wing for my Personal Collection. Really hoping to see them do more with all of them over time. I’d love to see a Zorro-sequel storyline featuring the original training the current.

@@CarlosCollectsComics I've seen you talk about your Hispanic wing. I think it's really cool that you do that, and that there's representation for Hispanic people. I think as the MCU phases into a younger roster, we could see Young Avengers and White Tiger.

hello Carlos-where would you place the first appearance of the amulets Hector acquired from the Sons Of The Tiger, as far as importance?

That’s a really good question! For most heroes, it would probably rank higher, but in this case, White Tiger has had 5 total iterations and 3 of them from the same family, so chose to focus more heavily on the characters who’d worn the mantle. This took up a lot of places on the list. That being said, I feel like it’s important and if you’re a fan of the Deadly Hands magazine run I’d look for an affordable copy!

@@CarlosCollectsComics I didn't realize there were so many iterations. I also feel Hector got the short end of the stick, treatment-wise.
