    Hey guys sorry I put bamboo paper number 3 instead of 2, but each of the three apps has different use cases and purposes so it's up to you which you decide! Have fun

      hey, I've got the exact same laptop and stylus as you and I was wondering if you ever have any issues with your stylus? Sometimes it stops responding?

    I've been using Google Keep mainly because it still supports my 9 yr old Ipad, and the writing experience is good. I think I'll stick with that

    Two questions: 1) what kind of USI pen are you using (brand and model)? 2) I could see something that happens also in my hp x360 12b the uprising dark screen bands. Do you know how to remedy this? 3) any app with ocr?

    Newer Chromebooks with USI support, like the Lenovo Chromebook Duet, offer noticeably better note-taking.

    Thank you for the review! very informative. I just bought the Chromebook Duet and also ordered the USI pen from Lenovo. Went back to school and the digital note taking will come in very handy.

      Its actually pretty great! have not had any issues at all. it writes very smoothly. I use it for note-taking in my classes. The only issue is I always misplace it! I need to find a way to attach it to the chrome book. But for the less than 40. bucks from Lenovo, it's a steal!

    Great video! Very informative and humorous. On a side note, what's the dongle coming out of the xbox controller? Is that something that connects to the chromebook for games?

      Oh haha it's just a micro USB to USB C converter so I can use a USB C cable, nothing fancy

    hey there! I am a medico too and looking to buy a chromebook for digital notetaking. Does any app have the feature of searching keywords? Like there is a term i want to find from which chapter its from, which app helps me search it?

    Thank you so much for sharing this. I always wanted to know, if chromeOs got the full version of OneNote or the Android version. As shown its the smaller Android version which is pretty lightweight. but also very limited in its functions.

    Excellent, you really did the homework for me. I have the ASUS 463 Chromebook and was looking for the best pen and app. You are to the point and talks about what matters.       I haven't looked too much into styluses because I've just been using the one that came with my hp chromebook, I'm assuming your talking about the Asus flip c436? I think that model supports any USI stylus so if you look up best usi stylus that might point you in the right direction, hope that helps!

      @@medchitect4963 yes, correct 436. The SA 300 stylus is ok, but the writing feel is not natural when the pen touches the screen glass. From the softwares you picked I preferred the Bamboo. Very interesting how the software makes all the difference on the interfacing with the chromebook as I originally thought that the pen was the most important component! I ordered also a different pen for comparison and will test it next week!

      @@medchitect4963 you mentioned Bamboo 2, 3. Which one is available on chrome and what's the difference? I only noticed one version that I downloaded.

      Yeah I think when I made this video there were two versions available, perhaps with different compatibilities, but nonetheless functioned the same so I put them as one

    In my experience I’ve only used OneNote on iPad and surface devices. It’s much more catered towards people who have windows 2 in 1s or surface laptops. I don’t think it was made for Chromebooks or android tablets.

    MS stopped support for the OneNote App for Chromebooks so only two in the top 3 apps remain ;)

    Keep used to be my favorite, but now there is soon to be no OFFLINE capability that isn't annoyingly tedious and time consuming. So I abandoned it. I am often in situations where the signal is inconsistent or non-existent, If there is no good OFFLINE capability, might as well go back to using Moleskine notebooks and fountain pens (haha) exclusively. (I do use Moleskine). I don't patronize the MS Ecosystem, so I am using a combination of Squid and Bamboo until the real thing comes along again. I do miss Keep, but they abandoned me , really. In a blackout, Keep won't work

      Hey laur I use the one that came with my chromebook, its a standard hp pen

      You should see if your chomebook is compatible with universal styluses (usi). Theres lots of them on amazon but some aren’t available for certain chromebooks

      From what I've seen, I haven't tested it but it is a bit laggy and slow, maybe it can do basic stuff but if you can wait maybe until the end of this year I think Asus is making a new Chromebook which might be a bit faster. If you can find a surface pro 4 with i5 that is a solid option too

    I've been using squid on and off for the past year. I'm just wondering where it ranked for you? I thought it was the best note taking app a year ago when I was looking for something for note taking.

      I put it pretty comparably to bamboo paper, but bamboo paper is a bit cleaner looking and I found it more responsive, as well as many of squids better features being locked behind the paid version. Hope that helps!

      Chromebook is far better. S6 lite is a quite compromised device

      Hey there! sorry this is the pen that came with my chromebook so I didn't have to do anything, it just worked straight away, if yours isn't working, maybe just double check the batteries, hope that helps :)

    can anyone else confirm that squid has palm rejection or another app that has palm rejection as i am left handed

      can confirm squid has palm rejection regardless of what hand you use, but I would recommend buying the premium version (I only tested the free version) which is much better from what I've seen

      mine says July 2024, but I think there is a software update in the works that will separate the chrome os into two parts, one that will not get updated with the security patches remaining forever, so I don't think you need to worry about end of life in the future

      I think its okay, but i hear chrome os is developing a new OneNote similar app that will be much better which will come out this year
