For a long time Giselle was my favourite member of the HubNut fleet, but they can't all be keepers and with TWC, Elly, Chemmy, Myrtle, and maybe Betty, being tenured members of the fleet, someone else needed to go to make room for new inductees into the HubNut fleet. Someone with no special history of emotional attachment, and this time that someone was Giselle. The little B&W film was amusing, it did a good job of conveying the frequent frustration and occasional joy of HubNut's GS ownership.
Get well soon Ian. Rest if you need to. 🏴
Giselle certainly left a mark there, and no, not just the LHM on the floor, to produce such a masterpiece of a film to say goodbye... :P
Love the farewell sequence, brought a lump to my throat, a bit of sick I think! You will see her through rose coloured spectacles for sure but if ever there was a love hate relationship in your unit, that was it.
Poor Chemmy needs TCL. Ian I know how you feel & I'm sure other Hubnutter would say the same give yourself time to get better. We all I'm sure think an awful lot of you & Carly.
I am a loyal fan of the channel you have cheered me up no end.
I have been in a battle with anxiety & you have helped me a lot.
Tea and all of the cake are what are needed after being that ill. For the Netherlands there is only on car for the job, it's big with a 4 litre straight 6 and will be supremely comfortable for a long journey like that.
A fine line between having a car collection and a breakers yard.
have to admire what is essentially palliative care
Get well soon Ian, Chemmie, Myrtle, Bella, TWK, and all the other assorted HubNut transport.
Hope your feeling better soon Ian!
Absolutely brilliant video Ian miss hubnut ❤👍 hope your well soon sad seeing gazelle go but least she's with more classics always nice seeing Ellie brilliant
Can't wait to see TWC out and about again. Also, as mentioned on a previous video, get well soon, Ian.
Liking the enthusiasm in this video 😊
Onwards and upwards and nice to see the GSA has a good new home.
Join the spring cold club Ian, off sick tonight from work, no snooker just Hubnut and film noir
I think the beautiful song at 1:50 is a Mistle Thrush.
Just had a listen to Mistle Thrush song on youtube. What a treat, spot on thanks. 3:28
Get well soon hopefully no one else gets it
another great video has always Ian and Carly miss/mrs hubnut and hublets and hubmutt 👍
Absolute no need to change wheel bearings in pairs - anyone saying that is upselling you and not someone you should be using
Left-side wheel bearings take WAY more abuse and tend to fail before right-side (hitting kerbs - loaded more in roundabouts etc. etc.)
This pretty much also applies to cracked springs - and things like glow plugs or coils or injectors tbh - unless there's significant work to get to them, just replace the one which has failed...
This doubles-up on older cars because - if we're brutally honest - once a car is over 10/12 years old, the parts available tend to be third-party (dealer parts being stupid pricey or unobtainable) and so you could even be taking a good/original part off to put a shady third-party one on!!
Firstly, I hope you’re back to all cylinders soon Ian. I hope we do get to see more Giselle in the future. She’s my favourite! Splendid mimework MarcelNut as she went 😀
I was one of the 'Why do they keep saying Hello Happy?' brigade!
Everything of ours is broken too!
Bmw E61. Blocked DPF but runs!
Caddy 2k. Cranks but no suck squeeze bang blow! (talking of which there is another issue all together)
Land Rover 90. Leaking Adwest steering box and no mot!
Discovery 1 V8i Welding welding welding!
Ian I would’ve bought Giselle if the trick of pulling off getting her to the US wouldn’t be so hard 😅 sad times because that was my window 🥲🥹🤣 oh well I hope the new owner will keep you updated on her ❤️
Bird singing is a blackbird, one of my favourites... Great update, get well soon 👍👍
A nice fleet update Ian, lots to do to keep us entertained for a very long time. I hope your feeling better soon. I must confess I was welling up a little on the farewell Giselle part. Take care Ian, Carly and the Hublets. Many thanks for sharing.
Your expressive mime very apt, considering your vocal deficit. No yelling at the snooker, mind.
Sending sympathy Ian I'm certain that Miss Hubnut can provide the tea.
aww... seeing Giselle leave was sooo sad... 😪
Thanks for the update and take it easy.
A touch of Jacques Tati in the Giselle farwell clip!? Hope you feel better for your trip Ian!
"We gotta pachew!"
I love this channel.
Get well soon 👍👍👍
With Bella having issues and Giselle now gone, maybe it's an idea to look out for a good BX turbodiesel estate?
The BX is definitely becoming a classic, hydropneumatic like Giselle (and Cecily, the XM you had long ago...), but less "too nice" and less weird to work on, while being very practical (like Bella) in estate form, and both economical and torquey to tow Bob. Could also lead to more collabs with UPnDOWN in the future maybe.
I seriously considered selling my 2CV (Soleille, which sports a Giselle sticker) earlier this year to create some space and budget to work on the house, but the thought of that made me drive her more over the past few weeks than I did in the entirety of 2023. I'm afraid it's a stay of execution as I will need budget to continue renovating my home and saving up alone won't go fast enough, but as long as the pot hasn't run dry entirely I'll cling on to her for a bit longer...
I think the BX is now a bit too old for the daily slog. It's getting hard to keep them on the road. Most estates have huge mileage and nasty rot.
@@HubNut hmmmm, you're probably right, I have the BX my dad had in mind, but that must be around 35 years ago, so for a BX estate to be a reliable daily again it should probably be fully restored... 😔
Get well soon. Get rest. You won't regret it.
Thanks for the video.
I still miss the Oltcit(s) and their exotic touch
Congrats on subs Ian, also on your good lady - she's a keeper. Looking forward to many more vids
Get well soon Ian! Rest up and get those spanners ready!
Sad to see Giselle go but, c'est la vie. I hope you feel better very soon Ian. Best wishes to you all.
Crazy we have all these cars and not one 100% but wouldn’t change it . Sad seeing gasille to go
Get well soon Ian.
Hope you feel better soon
Good video, feel better soon 😀
Ian , get yourself well …. Miss Hubnut can cover your absence easily . Also poor Myrtle looks sad with the black eye she’s currently got . All the best to both of you
Isn't Bob eating up real estate.... Time for him to bask in the liquid sunshine 😊
I'm hoping we can move him out for the summer.
Get well soon. Letting a car go can be sad day indeed, especially a long time driver, but that's life, maybe something interesting will replace it at some point.
Marcel Marceau eat your heart out 😁, Ian you’ve missed your true vocation in life , go into miming and leave the horrors of the fleet behind 😁👌🏻.
We went around Cardigan on Saturday (me & horses don't get on hence Barley Saturday isn't my thing) took a while to pass a police convoy near Eglwyswrw (would hate to have been coming the other direction) around a huge excavator being transported. Amazing thing, wife said I can't have one though..
I really feel for you, struggling to diagnose my poorly focus mk2 which cranks but no start....😔🤔
Can't you make a 'frankenstein' car of all the good / working bits off each one?
Smart engine in 2cv imagine that cute little turbo chirp as you tootle along in it...😊
Good to that some of your fleet is getting repaired older vehicles all need repairs and Ian get well soon
Get well soon Ian
You don't have to drop the rear subframe very much to change starter motor.
Please get some rest and take care of yourself, man.
Taking Chemmy to a garage and recording this was all we did yesterday. Resting otherwise.
New egr valve solved my similar problem Berlingo
Get Well Soon!
Nice little touch to Giselle and looks like she has gone to a good home. Now its time to rest up abd have some
Children sized stickers? :D
Great update..... hope you feel better soon Ian.
Always sad to sell a car. :(
I’ve owned a Charade and I never noticed the Hello Happy message.
Maybe they only did it for a bit. She also days Goodby (sic) See You when you turn her off.
I don't know what it does to you, but there's no car engine sound cheering me up more than that of a 2CV. I hope you'll recover soon and if you can't make it to EMWalhalla next week by one of your own cars, take a budget flight to either airport in The Netherlands and people will be lining up to borrow you a very HubNut car to spend the weekend with.
Goodbye Giselle. Hope you’re feeling better soon Ian.Chemmy getting some tlc. All good. I also like to watch the snooker
to be fair my 2015 Skoda has just had an MoT advisory for rear axle spring mount corrosion so it will be out with waxoyl/lanoguard soon(& it ate a door wiring harness) so it isn't just older cars that are needy.... but at least I still have "normal" indicators & not the exorbitantly expensive modern sequential "zoop-zoop" ones. When you realise how "less than ideal" many modern cars are it makes the tribulations of running the older ones seem more reasonable.
Hope you shift the sniffles sooner rather than later, shame about the GSA but something else equally interesting will come along I'm sure
Love the black and white reel because French. I hope that you're on the up from the lurgy.
The Gizelle short film needed a black card with 'fin' in the middle in the curliest font you could find 😋 Get well soon!
A few weeks back we came back from a break at a Warner's Hotel and I developed a cough bunged up nose and generally felt like sh*t* and it took over a week for me to get over it and my wife caught it of me and she's still not over it completely. We did a covid test, using indate testing kits and both of us showed a negative. I hope you get it shifted soon Ian.
There's some nasty stuff about at the moment. 🙁
you are a nutter.
please never change ❤
Au revoir Giselle. 😥 Get well soon Ian.
Great update. Hope you are feeling better very soon.
Oof! that was close! Almost no pachew.....
Rest up Ian - realise you need your income but still ….( loved your 1920s silent film am dram skills )
Note to self. : if own a 2CV : Spray lube everything.
Goodbye to Giselle and hope Mr Hubnut gets better soon , Also i owned a similar car to Chemmy years ago a 1992 1.4 Fiesta it would only start up if my neighbour started her lol so weird it was i could never start the car my neighbour had the Midas touch so i obviously gave my neighbour the car lol
The mess in that unit gives me the heebie jeebies!
And me. I really must get on top of it.
@@HubNut Makes a big difference when working on the fleet 👍
U need get civic 1.6 diesel tourer good family bus free tax 60mpg
I've just spotted the Lessquik sticker!
From Young Retro Motor Club.
If you want something different ihave ssangyong korrando kj 2-3 petrol that needs a home fairley quickly due to moving house and lack of space its tidy and runs very rare
I am only the second owner its a good tool all the best mate👍
Gah! I'd actually quite like to try one of those but we're out of space.
We need more Elly goodness Ian. hope you get well soon
You should ask Quentin Smirhes if he'd like to borrow TWK to do some filming with.
Hope that £60 labour quote is not one of those figures in the sky ones like many that I have had. They also had the cheek to mark up oils and parts that I could obtain cheaper, genuine ones to boot not pattern. Needless to say that they didn't get return business. The 'friend' that recommended them was removed from the Christmas Card list.
You might bump into Gazelle in the future at a classic meet.get well soon Ian.
Yeah...or the local scrap yard.
Betty going to Tim to get fixed?, isn't there a southerner that's an expert on Australian Fords that would do it 🙂, I know he just loves working on them.
Mercy's sakes alive, go back to bed already. Don't give the cold a chance to re-catch!
Apart from dropping Chemmy off, the day involved rest and snooker.
Still got the stolen beer keg
Still no idea where it came from...
ian ya sick mush
With time running out would you just rent a car then fly to the continent? To make the meet. Then give the fleet their maintenance on your return
All options are being considered.
@@HubNut I m sure you are , Hope what ever you do it’s successful
call her smartie ( smart car )
Very small and very luxurious. It's not one of those Aston Martin Toyota wossnames is it?
Who can say...
A sygnet
Ending a french adventure , to a french car, with a french movie ending.........because?.....FRENCH!
Giselle: tres triste. Needs some Henri le chat subtitles
Plenty of chicken noodle soup ? Just a thought (all I was fed when I was ill when young lol).
What happened to the Daihatsu Sirion ?
Was sold last year. Has since sold again so whereabouts currently unknown.
@@HubNut Okay, thanks, I must have missed that .
…here’s hoping that anyone besides O’Sullivan wins the Snooker. I wanted Higgins to win, but he’s just been knocked out by Wilson. Gutted….get well soon!
Ronnie out now too. Interesting year.
Get well soon get to bed and rest.
Slightly ominous mileage readout on Ellie there...
Who is the Tiny lady? I haven't been here for some time.
What happened to Mrs. H/Nut?
Ah. Life changed a lot 5 years ago.
AY UP MR AND MRS HUBNUT
Adrian Newey leaves Red Bull (so says the mainstream motorsport media), Lucy Brown leaves DriveTribe (so says the notifications), Giselle leaves the HubNut fleet (so says this video).
I am hoping for good news that Giselle gets to play with... let's see... Samantha the SM, Vicki the Visa, and... Chamonix the CX. (Well, you try thinking of a name that has a C and an X in it!)
Hubnut has sore throat so does a Marcel Marceau in fitting tribute to Chiselle
5:20 Very French... You should have put some speech bubbles over it for extra Frenchness!!! 😂😂
Love the title 😂 Get well soon
You've not got your hands on a Cygnet, have you???
One day...
Just a thought 🤔why don't you get rid of all that shite and buy SUMET decent?
O and nice mullet 😂
"In this video, nothing happens because my car was reliable." Not sure that's what people want to see.
You said there was big news then didn't say what it was. What was it?
The big news is that Giselle has gone...
You forgot 1 vehicle The little Pajero
Appears in a pic right near the end.
@@HubNut👍i must have turned off just b4 the end
