I've said it before and I'll say it again, you really can't beat a canik.

@@jaimevillasenor8289 I just can't think of a cheaper feeling handgun except maybe hi-point. And I respect hi-points for what they are considering their price makes them a great deal for those needing something cheap. But canik's plastics just feel like a cheap Chinese toy everytime I hold one. Even my PSA's feel so much better built, and I'm exactly a big fan of their plastics. I will say it's been 3-4 years since I touched one so maybe they've upped their game. But that cheap feeling left such a bad taste in my mouth, it's hard to even take another look.
I agree that they are dependable, same as PSA's and hi-points, so that's good.
But to say they can't be beat? That's a statement that would never be uttered by 99% of the population.
If he loves them, then that's awesome. But blanket statements like that are just silly.

As a person who has a job surrounded by weapons for the past 28 years (military) I still have to laugh at all these “experts”.
“Canik is this and ruger is that..blah blah blah”
Once we get out of the “tacticool” world and into reality….There is no Better or Worse handgun or rifle (within reason). Different applications, needs and CHOICE of style are different to each person.
I have seen many times a “best most expensive” pew pew fail. I have seen $200 “pos” ones last and last without a single feeding issue.

I took a chance a few years ago and bought a TP9SFx, The trigger had a long pull, but the sear and reset were great. I replace the trigger, put a Glock spring in it and comp set up and it was nail driver for half the price of most comp guns. Loved it so much, I bought the Mete SFx when it came out. I was not disappointed. I added a solid brass backstrap to lessen the barrel flip on recoil and nothing else. It looks like I will have to pick up this pistol to complete my Canik trifecta. I love solid steel guns, but have not found one since my Springfield Trophy Match 1911 that I like as well. This may be one to compete with it!

When they had their _Canik 55_ steel-frame CZ-pattern line-imported by TriStar to the US in the 2010s before the pandemic-some of the models had variants in .380 ACP and .40 S&W but as the TP9 series took off, they focused on that alone and with it the 9mm only. But I really believe they need to go back to playing with other calibers, especially since now the brand is way bigger and people want the variety.
Pistols I'd like to see from Canik are:
_SFX Rival Steel 10_ in 10mm Auto
_METE SFT 10_ in 10mm Auto
      _METE SF 40_ in .40 S&W
_TP380 Elite Combat_ in .380 ACP
_TP380 Elite SC_ in .380 ACP
_METE SC 30_ in .30 Super Carry

Question: For us non-competition shooters who don't need to get back on target quickly and just want an accurate gun, is the Rival-S really more accurate than the Rival?

sootch00, small but I believe important clarification at 9:14, where you describe the "cocked" striker indicator. I know you understand how it works, but I think you should clarify that when you see the red dot of the indicator, it means that the striker is cocked, which of course would mean that if there's a round in the chamber it will fire, or that the striker will still activate if the chamber is empty. But the way you explain it, at least to me, it sounded like you were stating that if you don't see the red dot on the striker, it doesn't mean that the chamber is loaded or empty. But if you don't see the red dot, that would actually mean that the striker has fired, and therefore there couldn't be a live round in the chamber. Make sense?
