- Hey everyone! Today, I want to share some very informative tip with you all regarding an often asked question to me - something that is crucial to know & goes beyond just draping a saree. It’s about taking care of your Bandhani sarees, a care needed to preserve their beauty.
Throughout my journey, I’ve come across many stunning sarees that have been ruined due to incorrect ironing techniques. So today, I want to focus specifically on Bandhani sarees, but in the future, I’ll also share tips for other types of sarees and fabrics.
When it comes to ironing Bandhani sarees, I recommend using a flat iron instead of a standing steam iron. Applying too much pressure while ironing can flatten the fabric, making it look more like a printed saree rather than an exclusive Bandhani tie and dye art.
Remember to use a light hand and iron gently. Bandhani sarees are considered a low-maintenance fabric, so you don’t really need to iron them. It’s actually better to keep them slightly crushed and avoid pulling the fabric too much.

i recently purchased bandhani saree and i too want to maintain the unique texture of bandhani saree but those shop people are saying roll press karana padega otherwise fall bidding n all proper nahi kar payenge n lenth kam padegi saree ki . I tried to tell them but they are not getting it ... i am confused what to do ..
But shop wale Charak karne ke liye kehte hain. When we purchase a Bandhani saree or suit they do charak then give it back n say u can't wear a crushed piece so they say u can't wear without opening the whole bandhani material .
