That hand wear on the side is a true sign of a warrior's battle scars. May the 3DS family always be honored and remembered as the last TRUE handheld system. The last warrior to leave the battlefield. 💪🐨💪
I will 100% Klingon yell should my 3DS fall in battle 🙌 As much as I want to keep my items pristine, I do take a bit of pride in the wear knowing it's from the love of gaming 😊
I've ALWAYS had these for my 3DS systems. They feel too thin and fragile without them. They do start to cloud and brown over time but at least the system is more protected.
Yes it is an issue from nintendo with paint coming off... They cheaped out and use the vinyl wrap for the metallic top and back which comes off due to sweat and oils in our hands So it's pretty much mandatory to get a case for these models to stop that from happening
I love the 'new' 3DS XL but hate the shiny fingerprint magnet that it is, the standard size 'new' 3DS has that perfect matt finish that feels and looks a lot better in my opinion
@@SvennyMcG absolutely! I mean you can re paint it if you can find/ create the right shade but what's the point, it'll no longer be factory painted. I have heard from other videos I watched after this one that the shell cover can take off paint itself though, I'm not sure if that's accurate or not and hopefully you won't encounter that problem in the future but if you do please make a video to alert others
I've owned a new 3DS XL since 2017 and thankfully because I was more interested with my switch around that time I left it alone for a long while which made it survive my younger years so now since I've gotten it back from my dads I've put it up where it would be safe and be able to get to easily plus I even recently homebrewed it so now I can play what ever game I missed out on with the 3DS cause of the price tags that follow with some
It's a beauty system! I went all-in with the 3DS & Wii U until I grabbed a Switch too, glad you're taking the time to enjoy it now 😊 Truly a fantastic games library
Thanks for sharing this very useful video! I enjoyed it. This material being flexible could actually be good for direct impact. Distributing more energy towards itself and dampening the impact.
Definitely! I too like it's not a hard, brittle material that could also shatter on impact. Plus, the flexible material is comfy too. Thanks for watching!
My husband got me a special edition Metroid New 3DS XL in 2017 - I barely played it once I got my Switch. I’ve only recently picked it up again because I wanted to play the first Zelda game I ever played - A Link Between Worlds- in anticipation of the sequel to Breath of the Wild. There are a few scratches on the 3DS but otherwise, it is in pristine condition. I recently ordered a screen protector and a protective case… I was also thinking to maybe get a vinyl protective skin for the inside as well. I just need to find one for the New 3DS XL. Also, people are still playing Mario Kart 7 online in 2023 🤯 Needless to say, my 3DS is going to be played a lot more than it has been since I first got it. It’s such a great system and I’m sad to see it discontinued and the eShop closed 😢
All great ideas, especially for a special edition console! Isn't it amazing to see the love the 3DS is having these days? Even with its eShop closure it's still being celebrated with a send-off of users worldwide showing it some love 💘 Enjoy yours! Thanks for watching 😊
I prefer to use a wrist strap because my fingers are made of butter! Along with an armored shell which will help preserve my device for as long as possible.
Honestly the wrist strap is a great idea and I'm glad that the inlet to accept the strap was considered when they designed the console (even as far back as the DS). Love the butter fingers analogy 🤣 Thanks for watching!
I keep mine clean since 2015. No scratches, no blemishes. But now I am removing the TN touch screen and installing an IPS. I'll keep the original screen stored away, but an IPS definitely adds more value + utility. NDS games on a dual IPS N3DS XL look amazing. Some consoles have 2 TN screens, many Galaxy ones from what I have seen. That must really really suck imo. The difference between TN and IPS is like night and day after you compare. 2 IPS should be everyone's first priority with N3DS XL.
@@SvennyMcG my top screen was an ips by default. there’s a bottom screen on Amazon rn that claims to be an IPS for N3DSXL. No reviews, but i picked one up just recently. I’ll have to see how it turns out once all the parts arrive. Still need to pick up a digitizer as well as a new screen protector.
What sucks is I want mine to last forever, and I also hate the feel and look of the N3DS when stuck behind a shell hiding its beauty lol. But.. I know ill appreciate the lack of scratches one day
The paint has started wearing off of my zelda n3ds xl and I was rly upset to feel like I should stop using it so the problem doesn't get worse. I'll definitely try this shell, thanks!
Nintendo dropped the ball on the New DS redesigns: 3ds LL: Very short printed in certain retailers and was basically the eBay edition of the New systems 3ds XL: Gets the case cracked easily and smudgy from it's terrible case 2ds XL: The audio speakers are placed horribly and will vibrate the system if the volume is over 40% Not to mention they wouldn't include the charger with the system like some Gamestop bundle
When they removed the charging cable from these models I think that was the biggest head scratcher 🤔 Love this line of handhelds but you're right, definitely some unique decisions made. Thanks for watching 🙌
What you say about the speaker placement on the 2ds xl is very accurate. That's my least favorite thing about having that model but I do wear headphones half the time while playing it so I guess that helps
While it's less portable, I love the layout of the original 2DS - but alas, it only has a single speaker 😪 Any long-term gameplay makes headphones necessary for this model too
Wow! I honestly didn't know there was such a demand, I simply came across this one last month in a bundled pickup. Best of luck! I have a few Amazon alternatives in the video description as well 👍
I like to keep my consoles as original as possible but in this case, with missing paint, I'd definitely consider upgrading. Any particular brand recommendations?
@@SvennyMcG oh no I was just saying that also because my 3Ds suffered damage and I can’t find a decent housing replacement anywhere, I’m glad iPhone is going 3D video
