For me this is a powerful tribute to the troops who served in Vietnam. I was with the Marine Corp in Vietnam from mid ‘67 to mid ‘68. Pilots often saved the day for us!!!
That's Ed Rasimus at 3:55, author of the books "When Thunder Rolled" and "Palace Cobra". Both are highly recommended reading for anyone who enjoyed this film. He died in 2013. Karl Richter at 6:49 was KIA on his 198th mission in 1967. Heroes and patriots one and all.
Flying F-105’s over there was not a safe job....hats off to those brave men that flew them & to the ground crews that worked in hot miserable conditions to keep them in the air.

THUD far more than just iconic!
Lot of history, lot of heroism in this video.
I admire all of these men, but shame on the politicians who sent them there.
The F105 flew over 75% of the missions over Vietnam
USN? USMC? More?
Uncle Howard flew the f105 in Vietnam
Honour saluut and respect them
Nice
Most f105 Thuds were station in Thailand on Bases had to fly long distance
The air force used to have the Grapes of Wrath theme? That's kinda cool.
Many Thud drivers gave all.
Glory and honor to the strong people of Vietnam for enduring such a war machine and emerging victorious.
Any idea what's the song at the beginning of this film?
F105 Ops don't fit the rest of your video repertoire.
