Personally speaking, I don't think anyone was looking forward to the return of Erica Flynn, but the tension between the actors really made the chemistry work. Robin Tunney and Simon Baker were outstanding as usual, the soulmate conversation reminds me of 3x17 Lisbon found Jane a video of Jane's laptop him describing what he looked for in a soulmate (of course it was Lisbon all along that was meant for Jane). But can we give credit to the newer members of the cast? Cho and Vega (Chega) make for an interesting couple, but I recall Joe Adler mentioning that Wylie and Vega had something too, which I think I would look forward to seeing. (It reminds me of Rigspelt, just the slightest bit.)

There is nothing to ship between Cho and Vega. Nothing. Talking to a co-worker does not a ship make. If it did there would be more to ship between Wiley and Vega, and it wouldn't be so creepy since he is closer to her age.

I love looking back at the old reviews of the mentalist like this and seeing what people thought. I LOVE Erica Flynn (I fully understand why so many women that love this show love Patrick cus Erica makes me weak in the knees in the same way) so it's surprising to see people not enthusiastic to see her back but I think this was the a perfect episode for every part it has. I look forward to the rest of the season, already enjoying it far more than the second half of season 6 after the end of Red John

Also I'm kinda rooting for Choga, I'd like to see Cho with the potential for a future with someone before the show is over. Their fight was great to set up some tension and stuff to work thru in the upcoming episodes.

I'M SO IN LOVE WITH THE IDEA OF #CHOGA hehehe Love the fact that Erika was back (Morena Bacarin is so talented and she is from my country - Brazil) and my favorite moment was when Lisbon asked Jane to talk about his relationship with Lorelei and he says he would only talk about her if Lisbon talked about Walter Masburn... then Lisbon started to talk about the food... OMG... I LAUGHED SO HARD AND LOUD!!! #LMFAO everything really worked on this episode and again I ADORE YOUR REVIEWS!

I agree! Personally loved the bedroom scene when Lisbon was (looking stunning) in a robe. Then that led onto the tense, yet lighthearted dinner date with the "ex talk". But overall had the same opinions as you!

For me there were two MAJOR continuity issues in this episode: First, Lisbon says something about Erika Flynn escaping from prison a year ago. A YEAR AGO?! It's been like 4 years! Second, I don't understand Lisbon asking Jane if something happened between him and Lorelei. Um, this has been confirmed over and over again on the show, and even in conversations between Jane and Lisbon. I mean, I loved the setup for the line about him telling about Lorelei if she tells about Mashburn, but I don't buy that Lisbon doesn't know about Jane sleeping w/ Lorelei.

they shot this in lebanon in my country man,,,,,,,, i was so happy man,.... and to tell you all this episode was so stressful man for me ,,, i was worried about them killed the case will go wrong, or the relation ship will be destroyed mannnnn, i was worried man,,,, bit thank God it went up good in the end...
I was super disappointed that there wasn't a kiss....I was literally jumping up and down in my room when I didn't happen....hopefully next weeks episode....fingers crossed
Liked the episode overall but I am still missing some more moments between Jane and Lisbon. Like they don't necessarily need to kiss but they were longing for each other for idk 10 years and now that they are finally together you would think they would be more into each other, sharing intimate looks or Patrick just touching her face just being more in love...
Actually I was really upset today cause there was a fight on twitter about the kissing issue. (a few fans are dissaponted) But you really made me laugh. :D So thank you for that. And I agree with all the things you said. Eating out of the same bole is like kissing... even though I hope that we get a kiss in at least the 6th episode (I don´t think there is one in "Black Market" though :( )
By far best episode of the season...maybe of S 6&7!! 1 aspect that I really enjoyed was PJ letting TL play such a central role in taking down EF with her rant about PJ's interest in EF. Conning a con artist like EF is never easy and JISBON played their roles perfectly. I flashed back to VIOLETS when TL was very uncomfortable in the role of PJ's GF. And he mildly criticized her acting in that con as a bit over the top. It occurred to me that part of PJ's plan may have been letting TL get bent out of shape a bit about his not revealing all about he and EF. With that bit of an angry edge TL's hissy fit about PJ/EF sounded absolutely real and reeled in that slippery fish with ease. Yeah I missed the kiss as much as anyone and really hope that the writers realize they don't have to wait to E13 to go there again. Here's hoping;}
I'm glad they decided to bring Erica Flynn back for one last story during this last season. All in all a great episode! But I can't get behind Cho and Vega. It just feels too cradle robber-y for me.
