- The best movies of Harry Potter vs Star Wars ranked (by Rotten Tomatoes) shows the timeline of Top 15 highest grossing Harry Potter vs Star Wars movies as well as the best Harry Potter vs Star Wars movies of all time from the year 1977 to 2022. In this video, the list ranks the #HarryPotterVsStarWars movies by best in ratings as well as grossing using the comparison Bar Chart Race graph. It is a visual representation of data which highlights the best movies over time. Note that the gross number represents the worldwide box-office gross in dollars and the list is not adjusted for inflation.
Harry Potter is a film series based on the eponymous novels by J. K. Rowling. The series is distributed by Warner Bros. and consists of eight fantasy films, beginning with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) and culminating with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (2011). A spin-off prequel series that will consist of five films started with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016), marking the beginning of the Wizarding World shared media franchise.
The series was mainly produced by David Heyman, and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson as the three leading characters: #harrypotter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger. Four directors worked on the series: Chris Columbus, Alfonso Cuarón, Mike Newell, and David Yates. Michael Goldenberg wrote the screenplay for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007), while the remaining films' screenplays were written by Steve Kloves. Production took place over ten years, with the main story arc following Harry's quest to overcome his arch-enemy Lord Voldemort.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and final novel in the series, was adapted into two feature-length parts. Part 1 was released in November 2010, and Part 2 was released in July 2011.
Deathly Hallows - Part 1, Philosopher's Stone, and Deathly Hallows - Part 2 are among the 50 highest-grossing films of all time, and ranking them as the 49th-, 47th-, and 13th-highest-grossing films, with Philosopher's Stone and Deathly Hallows - Part 2 grossed over $1 billion. Without inflation adjustment, it is the third highest-grossing film series with $7.7 billion in worldwide receipts.
Star Wars is an American epic space opera multimedia franchise created by George Lucas, which began with the eponymous 1977 film and quickly became a worldwide pop-culture phenomenon. The franchise has been expanded into various films and other media, including television series, video games, novels, comic books, theme park attractions, and themed areas, comprising an all-encompassing fictional universe. In 2020, its total value was estimated at US$70 billion, and it is currently the fifth-highest-grossing media franchise of all time.
The original film (#starwars), retroactively subtitled Episode IV: A New Hope (1977), was followed by the sequels Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983), forming the original Star Wars trilogy. Lucas later returned to filmmaking to direct a prequel trilogy, consisting of Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999), Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002), and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005). In 2012, Lucas sold his production company to Disney, relinquishing his ownership of the franchise. All nine films of the "Skywalker saga" were nominated for Academy Awards, with wins going to the first two releases. Together with the theatrical live action "anthology" films Rogue One (2016) and Solo (2018), the combined box office revenue of the films equated to over US$10 billion, which makes it the second-highest-grossing film franchise of all time.

@@allistermendez8085 I started to read the Hobbit, I got to the point where they're captured by the elves and I didn't like it at all. It felt too childish, too condensed, there was too luch action going on.
On the contrary I'm currently reading the first book of The Lord of the Rings and THIS is much more detailed than I expected. They're living some short adventures between the key scenes and they're all welcome, I never feel like it's too much.

as a Star Wars fan and Harry Potter fan I'm happy with how the results turned out. (tbh I thought Star Wars would have beaten Harry Potter)
People nowadays forget that the Prequels were hated. A lot. Probably even worse than the Sequels nowadays. Star Wars will always have this hate in it. We, the Fandom, are the Sith. Not the cool kind of Sith like Bane’s line or Revan’s Empire or the 3rd great Sith-Empire. We’re like the Dark Brotherhood.

Because it's a technically good and visually beautiful movie. It's also a really shit Star Wars film but most critics aren't big fans of the franchise, so they don't care all that much about lore consistency, the overall tone as part of a bigger picture and the old beloved characters being dumped into the trash bin.

While I'm not the biggest fan of either, I can still appreciate Star Wars more for what the originals did for the art of cinema. Harry Potter always seemed like something only kids, people who liked it when they were kids or socially inept adults were into.

if you do look there are More Star wars movies than Harry potter ones. if you balance out harry potter number up to deadly hallows 2 vs star war up to the same number of movies. you really see that Harry wins more if the harry films are near the top of the list
