At 18 yrs old ELVIS went to Sun Records to make a record for his Mama .
    He didn't graduate till 1953.
He was called back to Sun in 1954 because Mariam liked his voice and saved it . Later when Sam was looking for new singer , Mariam pulled out the acetate and Sam liked what he heard.
Remember ELVIS worked to help his family ..

@sherroncunningham7845 I can't stand her either. Lisa wasn't talking to Priscilla till the movie came out with Austin Butler playing Elvis... Lisa only stood next to Priscilla for the movie's sake, and when Austin won his award, and if you noticed Lisa was having Jerry Schilling holding her arm while being interviewed... It really pissed Lisa off that her mother wanted another lying movie made about her, and to drag her dad's name and image through the mud. If you noticed that Priscilla's movie gets made after Lisa's death. What pisses me off to is that Priscilla changed her last name back to Presley after Elvis passed away! She is a narcissist, and it's all about her. She put Lisa in that Scientology b.s, and if Elvis was living, I know that he'd stopped that shit! I can't stand that woman, she's a money grabber, and took Elvis back to court for more millions of dollars, and got it! Elvis almost lost Graceland over that , and ended up selling his song catalog after Parker talked him into it because Parker got his million out of the sale! After Elvis paid that lil' brat her millions, he only had $500-$1,000.00 left! I can't stand Parker either, no manager gets paid half of their clients earnings, and half of their music catalog! Parker was just a piece of shit as much as Priscilla is! Everything I just stated is 💯 % facts!
Oh and did you see where somehow Priscilla's loser doofus son Navaron gets a percentage out of Elvis's estate? He's no relation to Elvis!!! Navaron never liked Lisa Marie at all coming to find out! That Priscilla is something else!

I have had many experiences in my life that would seem quite incredible, unbelievable, and I am not a famous person, nor have I ever been involved with a famous person. Hearing Dary talk about his research, his interactions with Lucy and other people in her life, this becomes more and more credible. Finally, I know these two things...no one knows what goes on between two people except those two people...and the truth will always find its way out into the light of day. The only thing that makes me roll my eyes, is he told EVERY woman he loved them and that they were the only one for him, etc. etc. That isn't anything new. That was part of his charm to make girls think that (and even some ppl here that weren't even involved, just because of the way she wrote it.. That's what SHE is led to beileve by a charmer... Doesn't mean it's true! ). He sadly lied and cheated on every girl he ever saw. Either that , or he literally loved EVERY girl he ever saw.... In which case, even still, there was never any special woman he truly loved........
It's not about any "mental block on trying to protect Elvis". If it's part of his story, it's part of his story. People love him and his story.
But where the sillyness is , is even like Mr. Dary said, " it's Lucy's life and her story and she viewed it in a very romantic way. It's glorified".. Exactly! She, like many other women, believed he loved them, as that's what he told all of them. But people take an assumption and make it their own, and act like it's a fact, when it's their own personal thoughts and assumption.
    ___
    Edit:
It also makes no sense as to why they'd "hide" their relationship?? Elvis would date and sleep with plenty of non-famous women and it made news.. Priscilla wasn't originally known to the public, yet he still persued her in a way that it eventually did, so why not Lucy? If he loved her so much like people think, then he wouldn't have cared of her status.... I think it was just another long held booty call, like many of the girls.........
And it makes no sense about Lucy "protecting" Elvis. From what? He wouldn't have had any of his livelihood hurt because he would have been dating someone that no one would have known the history of....
    ----
Also, I have a difficult time believing Lucy was the last or only person he called the night before he passed, to make plans because he knew he was going to pass, or what may have you.
It's said he also spoke with Priscilla that night.. And there's another woman who I watched a 2 hour talk on who said he also was asking for her for the last few months of his life.. So again, possibly going back to then he loved many and not just 1.

The Presley and smith families are large if Desiree or her family if she had any children or grandchildren could still do a DNA test and if any of the relatives have done DNA it could be verified against their DNA and it doesn’t matter if they were 2nd 3rd or 4th cousins it would show up as a match Do I believe this story I think that there is a possibility that it’s true I haven’t read the book but I am interested now.

This moving, poignant book moved me to tears and I've been convinced that Lucy is telling the whole truth. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, dear Dary, for being there to enlighten those who don't know this story, and thank you for continuing to defend Lucy's truth with such sincerity, integrity and courage facing all those who reject your book and who humiliated and hurt Lucy by accusing her of lying, she who had already suffered so much all her life and who showed such courage to succeed in digging out the secrets buried deep within her being. It's the most beautiful love story I've ever read in my life, never has a book moved me so much, and it still resonates with me today. Lucy is such a beautiful person physically and spiritually, she is such a beautiful soul, she really deserved to live a happy life as a couple with Elvis! I think Lucy really was the perfect wife for Elvis and he would have been so happy if he could have married her ! This love thwarted by events is heartbreaking when you realize how much Lucy and Elvis have suffered being separated. This wonderful book really deserves a filmmaker to take an interest in it. This interview was so interesting. I remember reading the book couple years ago. I bought it off Amazon just couldn’t put it down.
Even in 58 Daddy’s were not allowed in Hospital rooms while giving birth and many
Father’s were not with the mom ( ; for different reasons). Signature of the father would not have been necessary, just his name.
Women do this all the time now as far as using another last name for the father. The signature is not necessary.
You haven’t finished reading the book yet, so I don’t know if Elvis ever gave Lucy money, cars ect…
Parker would have absolutely kept this quiet if it’s true.
If I’m not mistaken Elvis, in his last will testimony stated that any children born out of marriage, would not receive anything from his estate.
Doesn’t sound like Desiree needs anything from the Presley estate so why would she come forward now or resurface and put her self through the mess that’s going on. I wouldn’t.
    I’m keeping my mind open.
Anyone that thinks it’s NOT possibly Elvis didn’t father any other children is delusional. I mean we’re talking about Elvis.
I feel bad for those that don’t want to keep going with this book. It’s very interesting even if you end up not believing it. It’s a fantastic story and it could be possible.
Please excuse any misspellings or wording. I had a stroke many years ago and I can’t articulate myself like I once was able to do.

As I have said before in a comment on another of your videos, I believe this story, and I believed it in 1988 when the book first came out and I bought it. I met Lucy at a book signing event then and told her I chose to believe her story. I've always had this story in the back of my mind and a few years ago , noticed Desiree Presley on Instagram and followed her . I was sad to see that Lucy had passed away. I am so glad you are bringing this story to light. If there is the slightest chance that Desiree is the child of Elvis, and I believe she is, it is so unfair for Desiree, now in her 60's, to never have this fact publicly validated As you state, EPE says they own the rights to the poem, so that's enough proof there that they recognize that it is authentic. I have the first edition of "Are You Lonesome tonight," and I have quite a collection of books about Elvis , starting with the one I got for Christmas when I was very young about Elvis in the Army. As I said, this story has always been in the back of my mind, so I think now I will reread "Are You Lonesome tonight."

There’s no conclusive test that’s possible. Now I don’t know whether they try to do a DNA test back in the day. We are just at the beginning of the story. But I do know that the Elvis Presley estate recognized the poem that Elvis wrote to Lucy as property of the estate and would not let it be included in the book. The handwriting experts verify that it. I think that’s where we have to start from with this story.

Elvis hadn't even been called back to Sun at this point, in fact, he hadn't even made his second acetate. He had only just graduated and hadn't even met Dixie Locke. I played a ton of places with just my guitar. Long before I got a recording contract I’ve been playing with just my guitar or my band. Presley didn’t just pick up a guitar and then suddenly get a record deal with son. He was honing his craft, trying to play everywhere trying to sing songs trying to be an artist. Elvis was an actor. He chose his songs based on his personal life. He was singing to Lucy. He even came up with gestures to show her He was thinking about her. His hand over his ear. His outstretched arm. He came from a Christian upbringing but his favorite books were the prophet and books about eastern religions, philosophy. He was completely into the Occult and Numerology. He talked about many things with friends. Read "We Remember Elvis" by June Berry Hill & friends, read "Face to Face With Elvis" by June Berry Hill. Elvis was a real person. There are many books you can read on Elvis.

I have enjoyed the channel. Until now. It's one thing to read books like Child Bride etc and form opinions from there. I've had this book since the time it came out. There were all of these years where Lucy could have gone through the court system to try to get DNA and yet nothing. And then she also becomes a friend of John Wayne? Not buying this story, let's just stick to what we know ie Elvis and Lisa and not glamorize people who try to exploit them. So many other books that matter.

I’m a little behind as I started first listening to Elvis and Kathy. And I can only listen to one story at a time. 🤣 This book is very intriguing and my mind and heart are open to it. Only up to this point in the book where they just met and already Elvis seems like the young Elvis, shy, quiet, kind, respectful, honest. I was a little doubtful on the timing of him being in Louisiana but I remember reading somewhere, maybe Peter Guarlnicks book, where he would drive down to La to try out for singing spots. Also wasn’t aware he rode horses until 1956 but that doesn’t mean he hadn’t…and anyone could go rent one at that stable near the zoo. Also wasn’t realistic to me that he would go out for steaks and champagne cause he didn’t have a lot of money and none to blow on a fancy restaurant. But that’s not enough for me to close my heart and mind to the story. Maybe he had just got paid and was trying to impress her. Thank you, Joe, for explaining as a musician how he would be able to walk up without a manager and offer to sing at Eagles Nest or places in La. He was trying to get experience and make money. Crazy how Lucy’s sister lived near Elvis and he mowed her lawn! God putting the pieces together for them to meet. I have thoroughly enjoyed your interview with Dary (not sure if I spelled it right). He certainly has proven himself to me. I am pretty much a believer now and am so excited to listen to more of this story! I hope you’ll see my comment bc it’s kinda old at this point. 🤦‍♀️

I enjoyed the interview, and my intuition tells me this could be true. Elvis loved women and he was a man of mystery. No one forgets their first love, so it makes sense that he would call her periodically. She must have been a strong woman to have kept that secret of a child from him all of those years.

Updated my comment: What I don't get is why Lucy and Desiree went on Phil Donahue. Desiree made herself look like a weirdo. That's why she was so hard to believe. Update: I went and looked at the Donahue show again and I made a mistake. It was that Deborah girl that was weird. My bad. I watched Lucy and Desiree again and I totally believe Lucy's story. I don't know if I think Desiree looks so much like Elvis. On the fence about that. But, if Lucy is telling the truth. I feel sad for her.

Desiree' is very shy and reserved. If that personality to you makes someone a "weirdo" you're just a rather insensitive "weirdo" yourself. They went on Phil Donahue as part of the mandated book tour. Which was painful to both of them.
