I get an almost second hand nostalgia from this. imagine being one of the first players on 2b2t and you got to see and experience spawn and playing daily to the current time. How it must feel to walk where an ocean used to be. And then you get to see this video. And the memories flood back. You remember your dirt hut that got bombed. You remember when the ocean was filled in and mined out. You remember everything. And then you walking across the skylit bedrock. 2b2t is possibly the most realistic depiction of an apocalypse given the resources and mechanics of Minecraft. The kill or be killed mentality and the motiveless violence create an oppressive atmosphere. And those ancient players are the survivors.
It's a beautiful feeling to see your place back as original, but most of the time you only see the damnation of It, how It got filled with toxicity, as you see landmarks you loved destroyed, dismantled, so your description of 2B2T's veterans is very good, It's exactly like that, a permanent downfall with onces of Nostalgia reminding you what It was like and how everything became pure chaos?

I love how at spawn you’ve got a desolate cobblestone wasteland and then just below it you’ve basically got the underworld that’s filled with bedrock, water, and everyone trying to kill you. It’s like jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Okay so this is wild to me. I’ve followed 2b2t through FitMC and others for years. Something that always sat in the back of my mind is that I remembered playing a no rules server when I first started playing Minecraft in 2011. To be honest, team avolition had a great influence on my early teens so “no rules” was a no brainer for me. I don’t think I was on the server on day 1, as it had a community established and whatnot but everything looks EXTREMELY similar in this map. I remember people (myself included) placing lava by the spawn as soon as we got buckets. Beds had just came out and players weren’t aware that they could set your spawn point, a lot including myself thought it was just a cosmetic item before someone from another server told me it sets your spawn point. The server I mentioned is a very, very distant memory, and I know there is still like a 90% chance it was just some other anarchy server…but is there a way to check? Does 2b2t have data available stating when players first connected? I am curious.

Azazel yes you can look can look at the first servers made and it shows the oldest server in Mc is a creative server and the second oldest server is the oldest survival server and Anarchy server aka 2b2t Founded in December of 2010
