I think he just has confidence in himself and because he never died, he always thinks he will make it, and because of that, it probably help him in those situations. Be calm and think.
Edd or Mike either one gets an immediate watch from me!👍🏻A never diver, non ocean swimming person who is scared of sharks, jelly fish, swimming in dark water, clear water and claustrophobic!😂❤
Are you my doppelganger minus the evil side? Lol 😆. Just a couple minor differences. Have never , will never go into the ocean. Have Thalassophobia , absolutely adore sharks! The White 🦈!! All sharks but only want to see one in videos. Can tread water for like 2 seconds lol...not nearly long enough lol. I would be 100% a statistic.. Don't like caves 😳...especially caves with water!!! 😳🥺🤯😵💫. Mike and Edd??? Oh My!!!! Mike's my online boyfriend...only he isn't aware of it lol . Could someone let him know plz?? 😏🤗. Edd is just a Powerhouse Hero by anybody's account. In a pool?? I'd definitely go into water over my head...100%. In the ocean or an underwater cave?? Mike and Edd who???? 😁😆....yeah , not happening. Big shout out to #DiveTalk for introducing me to these 2 AMAZING men!!
I can sympathize a lot, have the same phobias more or less. To be honest I don't even understand why anybody wants to dive in caves, but the stories they tell are surely interesting and fascinating. 😊 I get the same feeling while listening to stories about mountain climbing. Binge-watching documentaries about Reinhold Messner or other mountaineers is equally fascinating.
Okay signal with the fins... good one I love it. Our signal is clicking your heels together like dorothy for, "there's no place like home get me the F^&k out of here" ;)
Amazing. My favorite videos from you guys and DiveTalk are the collabs with Edd Sorenson or Mike Young. We got lucky having two of the best Cave Explorers also being excellent story tellers.
One thing that I have noticed about true masters like Mike and Edd is that they are humble, nice, kind people. They don't have anything to prove to anyone.
Just watching and listening my anxiety was through the roof...I tried but honestly couldn't begin to imagine the fear and panic being in a situation where I had to of all things dig my way out of a cave ...It doesn't surprise me that the ONLY guy Edd Sorenson would even consider doing a rescue or recovery with is Mike Young, if that's not a testimonial of greatness, I don't know what is...
These are the kind of people who are the very definition of the phrase built different like how u wake up one dad and go shit i feel like going into a cave full of water and get threw spots so damn tight u have to actually struggle threw its mind blowing
@@Solon_The_Lich I'll check it out. We had plenty of dramas, diving and deco diving off NSW. And stuck in one tunnel was enough cave diving for me. So will be curious to see. Regards!
Does Mike have to buy a second plane seat when he flies to accommodate his massive balls? Could listen to him or Edd tell stories about their dives for days. Both are some of cave diving's GOAT!
How are you doing today Mr young? My two favorite divers in the world are arguably the two best divers in the world some would say but in my book hands down is Mike Young and fellow Oregonian Ed Sorenson.. Anyway I got question for ya .. Have you ever heard of the nutty putty cave incident? Im sure you have, but in case you haven't it's about a guy dry caving and he gets stuck and they couldnt figure out how to get him out of there so they left him in there. . I don't get why nobody thought of filling the cave with water and letting you and Ed go in there and get him.... Im just thinking they could of saved that mans life .... For real though how do you feel about that don't you think there's something they could of done to get that man out of there .
My favorite comment from Mike "This other time I got buried alive.. "😂
This needs to be on a t-shirt
Hahaha I heard that and had to rewind a bit to make sure I heard it right.
And he was laughing too! 😆😂
Man he is laughing, but my cortisol levels through these stories sky rocketed "getting stuck with no visibility". This man must have nerves of steel.,
I think he just has confidence in himself and because he never died, he always thinks he will make it, and because of that, it probably help him in those situations. Be calm and think.
He seems to think almost dying is hilarious.
No, not nerves of steel just stupid
Could listen to Mike tell stories all day 😊
for the rest of my life yeah
Same here lol

If I can't name anyone else, I can name those two
@@prodigalson504 straight up!
I know Mike makes it seem like luck, but he is immensely talented and exemplifies survivorship bias. Sorensen is the same. Love hearing them speak!!
Survivorship bias is absent with these guys.

@@BlueWorldplus It's a nice refresher in such a marketed fake world. I'd like to see them link up with Alex Honnold and do skill exchange haha.
Never clicked a video faster! Love hearing mikes stories.
I’m so glad you are interviewing Mike. He’s an absolute legend!

2:49 this guy is a great story teller that was hilarious
LOVE MIKE! ❤ please do more storys 👏🏻🙏
Legend.....Nuff said
Between Mike and Edd there's 2 badasses in Cave Diving
Most realistic cave diving stories I've ever heard.
Dive Talk commentary on Donald The Cowboy Cerrone is THE REALEST

Mike is a madlad.
Not a bad candidate for a dankula video
Can you add a link to the document that Mike mentioned. I've seen a version of it on RUclips but I can't find it anymore.
I believe it’s on Mike Young’s RUclips channel, labeled as Blue Spring.
I'll find it.
Amazing Stories
Thank you! 🙂
Laughing about near death experiences. 💀🤣 Mike Young is a legend!
Giving the reaper blue balls is Mike's favorite recreational activity
I love Mike!
We all love Mike!!
Nice!
Love this video.
this is my new hyperfixation
same :D dont even dive and have seen all edds and mikes videos plus read sheck exleys books :D w h y
Mike and Ed both make me want to dive but only if either is my instructor lol
I don't think Mike instructs. Edd does, and he is a very demanding instructor. But I guarantee you will be a good cave diver!!
You guys should try and dive the caves and blue hole in Sandusky Ohio !
I'm from the area... there are some really cool quarries to check out here too!
Gilboa is nice that I know
i have a cave with a sump in it, before we could walk but not for a long time now, in quebec
If it looks sketchy assume Mike dove it 😅
That's for sure!!!
Honestly surprised he’s only been cave diving for 25 years. Figured this guy has been at it for 40 years.
😳 yikes! Great stories. No syphons for me. No flow in the caves I dive here in the D.R.
Mike looks baked!!! Definitely he’s baked in this video😂😂😂
Nope....he was just flat out exhausted after a long day of diving with us!
Does Mike have to order custom dive suits to fit his giant balls of steel?
Woe
Certified bad arse!👀how you keep calm and controlled in under water cave with 0 viz. I don’t care there’s not many people that can do that!
Does Mike have to buy a second plane seat when he flies to accommodate his massive balls? Could listen to him or Edd tell stories about their dives for days. Both are some of cave diving's GOAT!
xxx
Mike is Robin to Edds batman.
I really hope I never get into cave diving. I can really see the allure but so many very experienced exceptional cave divers have died doing it

This guy is a lunatic lol
He doesn't need a weight belt because he has balls of steel.
Dam. How many times do u get buried alive b4 u stop doing what got u buried alive? 😂 these ppl are crazy
