I love how much Capitol Chambers adds to a sound. It transforms a sound into something warmer and fuller. You can always set up your own sidechain and post eq. You can even use a gate/transient shaper to cut it back. But I think it's a special sound.
I tried the demo of Capitol and Atlantis. I much prefer the sound of the Capitol plugin. To my ears it’s more warm and smooth. The Atlantis plugin has some cool features like compression/ducking, but the Atlantis chambers sound a bit too bright and clangy. I noticed Capitol Chambers is now available as a native plugin and is on sale for $99. Sold!
One major advantage that's not being mentioned here in favor of the UAD Capitol Chambers... if you own an Apollo... you can monitor and track through the Capitol Chambers plugin or even use it in a live situation or during rehearsal with near zero latency. For me, thats a MAJOR advantage over the others, especially given that it sounds awesome without a plethora of tweaking options (most of which can be achieved by building a custom plugins chain either in the Apollo or in your Daw if you're 'crafty' enough)
I love Capitol, but one instance consumes 51% DSP of my older Apollo Twin Duo. Hoping they bring it to Spark. Abbey Road is great too. Have to check out the Softube offering. Thanks for the video!
I got the same problem but now I have a native version…for free! Because I own it and uad gives native versions for free if you own any of their plugins.
Okay...I'm not convinced. Especially as the street price of each was not even mentioned. Bang for your buck? Huge difference...I got the Waves plug for $30 (yeah, list is 199, but no one will ever have to pay that.). The UAD lists for almost $400 (normally "on sale" for around 200), and Atlantis lists for around $200, but can be found for around $100. Sure, there may be deals and your mileage may vary, but some folks can't shell out that much for a chamber plug. And the "faults" mentioned about the Waves plug can be effectively remedied with the onboard EQ and other parameters you didn't mention or explore.
Kinda strange I have all 3 too and the Waves in mine seems much more brighter and rich like the first one here... Why does it sound so dry on your set up?
Peace, Matty. Great video, as usual. Yeah, Atlantis Chambers sounds the best, IMO. It sounds soft and pillowy with a great tails. I'm considering getting this, after all the reverbs I already own. smh
To me, capital compliments vocals very much but as you said it's not very flexible. I'm very surprised with Atlantis and I think I'm gonna give it a shot! The amount of options!

The Sunset Studios reverb from Tracks has pretty amazing chambers, its the only plugin from them that i use a lot
Agreed. It's a go to for me.
I'd say it's a secret weapon but it's more like a secret armory

IK Fame Reverb is unbelievable.
Yes ! Fame my favorite for Chamber
It's a lotttt of verb. Good thing about capitol is the wet dry does a way better job. The rooms in fame are awesome though
Cheers for a good review/test!
Would have been cool to see the IK Multimedia options, they seem to get a lot of love!

Another insane video Matty! Keep going
Thanks! Will do!

thanks! got the native version now as well@@amazeus1980
@@amazeus1980when you use the native versions does that mean they don’t rely on DSP?
Capitol. I use it to add room to the recording (so only a hint is added) and not as a vocal reverb.
It would be interesting to see how these three compare to the echo chambers included in Altiverb from Audio Ease.
Lexicon Native PCM! The king of all verbs!
Softube is always beyond imagination... This softube reverb carries the sound of the famous atlantis studios 🖤

UAD just had it on sale for 105? Also had the pick any 2 (plus one) for 99

Capital Chambers has been one of the best decisions I made 🤝🏼
Matty, unrelated, but what's your favorite vocal eq? I'm looking for silky top end.
Fab filter Or fresh air.
Uad sounds so musical.

waves looses as always. I love the cap just leave it on the Al Schmitt preset basically all the time and tweak it with other shit before / after

I think use was supposed to use Abby road with steem that defeated the purpose

Abbey ROAD.
Not "Abbey Roads". ❤
you didn't even unclick the wet solo knob for the capitol one lol..totally missed a whole aspect of dialing in the dry/wet mixture
It’s on a send…..that’s your wet/dry.
