Happy New Year Dr. Dray!!! Thank you for all the content and knowledge you continue to share with us everyday💗 Hoping you can make an updated video of your recommended top pimple spot treatments for reducing inflammation once a pimple begins to surface. I find it hard to prevent those hormonal breakouts that happen every month and haven't found an effective way to help them heel fast. Thank you!
Applying moisturizer to my damp skin has saved my dry skin. By now my entire body would be itchy, flaky and with white patches but now it’s so nice and soft. I recommend this to whoever I hear is struggling with dry skin. ❤️
So question for you ladies (or guys), I know Dr. Dray has said water on the skin allows ingredients to penetrate deeper in to the skin, which is why she recommends waiting until your moisturizer has dried before apply tret. Has anyone experienced burning while trying to apply their normal products to wet skin? The CeraVe Skin Restoring Night Cream I typically use after I dry my face is great... I've but been recently trying it with my face still damp, and my face will start burning and turn red. I've tried it a few times and have to wash it off immediately and let my face dry before moisturizing again. Anyone experience similar results? Applying moisturizer to damp skin has been successful with my body, even though I'm a hairy guy... feels weird putting lotion on all that while I'm still damp 😂 but I haven't the same luck with my face. I've gone through the retination process, and typically don't find products irritating, except when I tried to start this routine. I wonder if my beard is retaining too much water and that may be why. I dont know, but my face doesn't seem to like it :(
@@spacecowboy810 Hello! I’m sorry to hear that. I personally apply my moisturizer in my wet face with no problem. Have you tried a different product? The products I’ve tried on my face are the cerave pm facial moisturizer lotion, cerave moisturizing cream and vanicream moisturizing cream. I’d recommend the vanicream one, this brand is very gentle. My husband has a big thick beard and uses these with no complain. He also feels weird about lotion all over his wet hairy body 😂😂
@@spacecowboy810 I only experience the irritation if I apply my retinol cream to wet/damp skin. I use CeraVe's moisturizing cream in the tub on my face due to my skin being somewhat sensitive. It's very soothing and sinks in fast. Now in the middle of winter my cheeks get overly sensitive and dry despite the usual products I use on a regular basis. When this happens, I apply a very small amount of CeraVe's healing ointment on just the areas that are irritated. I apply it at bedtime after my other products have dried down. It seems to help quite a bit. If your entire face is burning/stinging after application, I would try a different moisturizer.
Same. I had a brutal bout of facial eczema two winters ago, having never suffered from it before. Everything I put on my face burned and left redness and dry patches. Dr. Dray's tips literally saved my skin. I minimized and "gentle-fied" my skincare routine, using her recommendations for hyaluronic acid gel cream (Neutrogena), gentle Cerave cleansers and moisturizers (Cerave moisturizing cream is my holy grail now), and skipping chemical exfoliants or salicylic acid (which my skin has never liked, even during my teenage acne years). I started washing my face only at night, applying moisturizers while my skin was still wet, and slowly but surely my skin's moisture barrier was restored. I've kept the eczema at bay ever since. This channel is gold!
Me too! I had severe maskne on december, my U line full of red bumps and some cysts along the chin. Not to mention darkheads on the nose because excessive moisture trapped underneath the mask. It's just 3 weeks from following her "rules", basically my skin has no acne bumps anymore...i use tretinoin 0.05% at night and incorporate things that can strengthen my skin barrier..
I have a dry spot on one finger I have to fight every year lol. Every summer I'm like "Ha, it's gone" but then as soon as that humidity starts dropping it's like "Hey, did you miss me?

My husband is undergoing radiation for a brain tumor and at the spot receiving the radiation, his skin has become very dry and it almost looks like he has a sunburn. Yesterday, before seeing this video, we bought the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion with oats. I had him put in on his face right after his shower and even in just 1 day his skin felt better. When I was a child I had really bad eczema and dry skin especially during the winter and I was always told to not wash my face at least not less than 2 hours before going out, especially in, the morning and I always found that to help.
These tips sound preventative, which is so helpful. When I'm having a painful, burning, excema flare-up should I follow the same tips? Or should I treat the excema differently?
@@db-gb5xi Thank you! I'm newish to this channel and haven't seen that video. If you use the balm, does it have the same oat smell like most Aveeno products? Also, is it a thicker paste than most Aveeno products?
@@michellec6336 I'm not sure about the smells. Also, with the balms, I believe Dr Dray has said to apply it only to the affected areas and not all over. As for the consistency, I'm pretty sure as a balm it's a thicker consistency than a lotion or even a cream.
I would love to hear more sometime about skin care for us folks taking oncology therapies! How do these medications affect the skin, and what can we do to mitigate any negative effects?
Absolutely love the Aveeno C+R Oat Gel moisturizer (initially purchased due to your previous vid & now on 2nd jar)! Wish Aveeno would market a mineral sunscreen based on their C+R Oat Gel formula. Additionally enjoying the rest of the Calm+Restore/Restorative line too;') Thanks so much for the recommendation and all your other great videos!
This is the first Winter in my life that I have amazing skin, since I follow Dr. Dray recommendations. I have rosacea issues and my skin used to be terrible in the Winter. Thanks a lot your advice. And thanks for suggesting affordable products!
Calling all rosacea sufferers! I have been using the Aveeno colloidal oatmeal bath treatment on my face as a moisturizer. After I shower, I pour some of the powder in my hands and mix it with water in my palms, then, I slather it all over my face and body and has truly worked wonders! No irritation, just an amazing anti-inflammatory moisturizer!! 🌾 Thank you Dr. Dray for discussing the oatmeal bath treatment in several videos!
I tried one of their Positively Radiant moisturizers in the tub years ago... and it stunk so bad and irritated my skin, so I couldn't use it... and learned it had fragrance in it that I obviously couldn't stand.. so I quit buying any of their products. Just recently, I took a gamble on the body wash she mentions in this video and have been happy! Maybe some of their stuff has more irritating ingredients than others? Vs being an "all safer" brand like CeraVe/Vanicream? Good luck!
Same here. Aveeno has always made me burn. So seeing this review makes me partly cringe (from remembering the excema pain with a thick Aveeno ) and partly be curious if the 3 she mentions are better and worth me taking a look at.

Please Aveeno bring this range to the UK!! Love all their range, what is a good substitute for this range in the UK, any ideas anyone? Thankyou Dr Dray you’re a star and helping my dry, eczema prone skin!
Hi I live in Scotland so feel the FOMO lol. The LRP hydrating toleraine cleanser is similar (just without the oats) or the cereve hydrating cleanser. The Klairs fundamental watery oil drop serum is fabulous (soothing and hydrating) and their gel cream is a similar texture to the Aveeno face moisturiser shown. These products are available from K beauty sites worldwide and from UK based sites. The closest to the body line shown is the dermexa line from Aveeno aimed at atopic skin (eczema) - body wash, cream and balm. First aid beauty do some great oat based facial products, if you don't mind spending a bit more as well. If you really want these products then you can order from iherb as they ship to the UK. Hope that helps.
Living in Phoenix Arizona is brutal almost all year around. Currently the humidity in my home is 19% with a humidifier running. I have 2 humidifiers in my bedroom and struggle with getting the percentage to 40%. It's really tough to live in this dryness for your skin, eyes, nose, etc. I am definitely going to try this Aveeno line! I can't wait. Thanks Dr Dray and Aveeno!
The water where I live is a bit harsh when left on the skin - kind of drying. I gently pat my face dry, and then spray it with thermal water before applying serum and moisturizer. When I (used to) travel, that wasn’t necessary and tap water in other cities worked well.
Same here. We have hard water here in Texas that, not till I got older did I realize, wreaks havoc on both th eface and the scalp. Once I figured that out I started using rosewater or a micellar water for my face and that fixed all of my break out/ sensitivity issues. For my scalp, I just clarify that ever couple of weeks and now my hair is my best friend!
So happy for you that you're now in partnership with Aveeno! So deserving! I bet their sales have skyrocketed since you first mentioned their products!
I wash my face once a day and use Neutrogena hydro boost gel cream extra dry (hyaluronic acid) and then Aveeno Baby moisturize cream. I hate my elbows in the winter so dry the only thing that works is thick cream with shea butter.
Using tretinoin(Altreno) and tried the Aveeno Calm+Restore moisturizer but it burns my eyelids and around my mouth just like everything else..the search continues..
Would the Aveeno restorative skin therapy itch relief balm be beneficial to allergic skin discomfort? I'm in Austin where the allergens can be sky high. During "those times" of the year my skin face, chest, and neck area have moments of itchiness and sensitivity due to the allergens. It can feel almost like a light sunburn but def isn't. I have a sample of REN Clean Skincare's Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm that works like magic for this, but I'm not paying for a full size of that in this lifetime.
I live in a place in Canada where Winter lasts for 6.5 months and this is all true! I highly recommend that make sure you avoid hot showers (I know that's hard when it's the dead fo Winter and you want heat but too much heat can actually do you worse for your skin and lead to more dryness). Lukewarm is nice then immediately after showering, get a moisturizer that's rich in emollients and occlusives (I prefer body moisturizers with petrolatum or vaseline based/balm like) to keep your moisture barrier intact which is especially important when you go out and you're wearing layers upon layers which with friction can irritate your skin but if your skin barrier is intact then you're good. For the face, it's similar I don't use too many humectants because they would just dry and cause TEWL but again emollients and occlusives are your best friend. I love ceramides (Cereve and one from the Ordinary NMF if I'm on a budget). And of course, sunscreen! I know, I know but it's Winter? Yeah, so light reflects, so does ice, snowflakes, snow on the ground, snow in the air, it's basically like a bunch of magnifying glasses that bend and reflect light everywhere so it's actually more worse in the Winter so Sunscreen is your best friend. Keep yourself healthy and safe guys!
My husb ALWAYS leave his face air dry after the morning wash. He is so annoying coming out with water dripping from his face . He doesn’t do this for beauty benefits but it’s a habit with deep roots back in his childhood and culture. I used to hate it but now when I look at him , at 60 he looks younger than me . And while I have to slap all those creams and beauty products he just use water ☹️
As someone who lives in a cold northern climate, the aveeno gel moisturizer is NOT enough for winter. Would recommend people who live in cold climates not bother trying this till summer
I’ve been slowly incorporating retinol in my skincare routine and since my skin is already so dry it’s been hard to push through. Hopefully I see some improvement in my skin soon. Thanks for the tips Dr. Dray!
Dr dray please please review beekman 1802 those boys are making huge claims about their goat milk skin care and soap not sure if I believe them?? I thought you would be honest about the goats
Beekman 1802 is full of fragrance once you get past anything but their Pure line and expensive. If you're interested in goat milk products, there's a company called Goat Milk Stuff that doesn't have as many products and products lines as Beekman and doesn't have as many ingredients.

These tips sound preventative, which is so helpful. When I'm having a painful, burning, excema flare-up should I follow the same tips? Or should I treat the excema differently?
In her video, 10 tips to heal your eczema, the product she recommended in addition to tips was, Aveeno eczema therapy itch relief balm.
Try the Aveeno eczema therapy balm in the big tub. It is wonderful! My FAV moisturizer for face and body.
@@CalmVibesVee Thank you for the recommendation! Do you wear it even when you aren't having an excema flare up too?
Omg I just realized you hit 1 million subscribers 😱😱😱❤️❤️❤️ so happy for you! You deserve it!
Living in Colorado with winter and dry skin. Thanks for sharing these tips!
Please make a video on I’m From Rice Cream and Rice Serum!!!!!!
This is the first Winter in my life that I have amazing skin, since I follow Dr. Dray recommendations. I have rosacea issues and my skin used to be terrible in the Winter. Thanks a lot your advice. And thanks for suggesting affordable products!
I think it is safe to stay the Walgreen cashiers know my face very well LOL!
Samuel Gilbert everyday? Are you using another moisturizer? Or just the Aveeno? Are you using it every day? Is it reducing redness? Thank you 😍
@@crissyanderson6495 yes I use it everyday after my shower. I sleep with it on my face and before I use Tretinoin
And it def reduces redness and irritation.
Samuel Gilbert oh ok great!!
Samuel Gilbert oh that’s awesome! I will definitely try it! This is just the oatmeal bath your talking about?
I have dry skin and my go-to winter products are the cerave hydrating cleanser. I never heard of the calm and restore form aveeno.
It hasnt been out that long maybe less than a year
The gel facial moisturizer is AMAZING.

Am I the only one that doesn’t react well to aveeno products? All of them make me break out or burn!!
Same!
She says acne, rosacea, or eczema. I have all of those 😭😂
Abby me too! I have tried everything and nothing has helped! I guess I’m going to try the Aveeno 🤷♀️
@@crissyanderson6495 I started using aveeno eczema therapy itch relief balm on my arms and legs (I have really bad eczema in both areas), and it has made a huge difference for the eczema on my body! I just can't seem to figure out what to do for my face. Hopefully we can both find what works for us!
@@Abblestrudel I’m so happy that the Aveeno is helping you! It’s so hard to find products that work! Dr. Dray has so many great videos, I’m sure you can find some good recommendations for your face! Good luck! 😍
@@Abblestrudel Dr Dray has a video that talks about using the eczema balm on the face! Hope that helps!
@@xtinat29 I have rosacea on my face, so really heavy moisturizer kind of exacerbates that. I’ve tried the balm on my face, and sadly it makes my rosacea flare up. But I absolutely love it on my lips.
The Aveeno oat gel moisturizer is amazing!! 🙌
Genuine question: If you're not supposed to wait til your face feels squeaky clean, how are you supposed to know when you've washed off all the cleanser? 🤔
CONGRATULATIONS ON 1 million subscribers! You not only inform, but entertain us too. You deserve this :)
Happy Friday, Andrea! This is a great video, I really needed it! 💓
Thank you! You too!
If i apply moisturizer first, when do I apply my serums and oils then, since the moisturizer should be applied after all those mentioned?
Now in Boots UK
All great products!!
Happy Friday wishing everyone a calm weekend 😊🍁
Anytime Dr dray uploads you know it’s a good day...
''The humidity drops''
Where I live: **3C with 100% humidity**
Relatable 😂 like where are these people living!?
Similar here on Oregon coast
@@natasiafranco4444 ugh lucky! I’m in Medford and we lack humidity too often. 😭
Chelsea Zayda Raen Sehon I don’t feel lucky with the constant rain 😭
Living in Phoenix Arizona is brutal almost all year around. Currently the humidity in my home is 19% with a humidifier running. I have 2 humidifiers in my bedroom and struggle with getting the percentage to 40%. It's really tough to live in this dryness for your skin, eyes, nose, etc. I am definitely going to try this Aveeno line! I can't wait. Thanks Dr Dray and Aveeno!
Stay away of ha.
I love the Aveeno products. But I haven't tried the new line. Winter skin is itchy, and menopausal skin is crazy itchy. Love it Dr Dray.
My skin has never been better since following you and your tips. I Tell EVERYONE to watch you.
So happy for you that you're now in partnership with Aveeno! So deserving! I bet their sales have skyrocketed since you first mentioned their products!
would your recommended inkey list oat cleansing balm work similarly to the aveen oat wash? Also what would you recommend to double cleanse in winter.
I need to know also. To remove the reapplication of mineral sunscreen.
'Some horsehair brush' Hahahaha. I love your hardcore style
🐎
Now instead of a towel, I grab my moisturizing lotion and face gel. Best thing ever.
My scalp is a little itchy! My skin likes Neutrogena retinol cream and Hada Labo oil cleanser. Love Australian Gold sunscreen! Thx Dr. Dray! :)
Dray!
Me too! It’s going well so far though. What product are you using?

Dr dray please please review beekman 1802 those boys are making huge claims about their goat milk skin care and soap not sure if I believe them?? I thought you would be honest about the goats
Beekman 1802 is full of fragrance once you get past anything but their Pure line and expensive. If you're interested in goat milk products, there's a company called Goat Milk Stuff that doesn't have as many products and products lines as Beekman and doesn't have as many ingredients.
I hope Aveeno brings Calm + Restore to Canada! 🙏🙏🙏
They have. It is a slow introduction at the drugstore and Walmart.

The oatmeal gel cream?
I emailed them and they said they didn’t have plans of launching it here

Thanks to these videos, I switch between Aveeno, Cerave and Vanicream products. Haven't found an Aveeno sunscreen I like, though. Any suggestion? Thx
Could someone please tell me how to use SPF with face lotion? I don’t understand. Every video just ends with a “don’t forget your SPF”.... what is the SPF? Is it another face lotion you put on top of the other? Is it just hitting your face with straight up spray sunscreen? I need help....
I love Aveeno with a passion its the only thing that works on my skin, I use their shave gel, Lotion and shampoo more than impressed!!!!!
my skincare is so minimal, I use BP every now and then, and Adapalene ... all as directed by Dr. Dray and I still get these teeny tiny white heads sometimes i dont get it !

Would it be ok to use the neutrogena hydro boost before the moisturizer?

Why can’t you just recommend one moisturizer and wash for face and skin and shampoo and conditioner for hair I don’t wanna pick from 10 different ones
You can also layer moisturizers, using a lotion first & then, after that dries down some, put a cream on top in Winter. 😉
